Want to bring your fan or guild site closer to our games? Then crack open a can of awesome with Battle.net's OAuth 2.0 service, which enables players to securely access your site with their Battle.net account and choose what types of data they want to view and share for a more tailored experience.
At our new API development website, dev.battle.net, you'll have access to documentation and premade authentication modules that will enable you to set up user authentication in a flash and then start incorporating Blizzard game data into your site!
The goal of dev.battle.net is to bridge the gap between fan site developers and Blizzard's web developers to create a better web experience for everyone. It's a place for all community engineers to learn and talk about Battle.net APIs (application programming interfaces) so that they can integrate their sites with the Blizzard family of games.
The site includes:
We're also planning further updates to this site, including support for profile APIs and Diablo III's ladders, along with more documentation and a support hub.
So, what exactly can you do with dev.battle.net? Here are just a few of the sites that are already using Battle.net APIs:
Head to dev.battle.net for more information, and then go create! We're excited to see what you come up with.
Cool, neat feature. But.. What I am missing in all this is a privacy statement. A clear one. I am handing a bunch of semi-personal information over to ZAM, and possibly the greater public, afterall. So what information am I sharing? What does ZAM do and not do with it?What does the public get to see? What options do I have for changing privacy settings?~HNSZ
WOO! Thank you for the addition of the show/hide (public/private) button! Glad to see you can use it even if you choose not to link your wowhead and battle.net accounts.I've hidden my pinned profile, but my character's name is still showing on my user page even if the link to the actual profile is gone. Will it just take awhile to update or is there another step I missed? I'd rather no one could see even that little bit of info.edit: thank you for reply below, I guess it just took awhile for settings to update, I can no longer see any character profiles on my user page when not logged in. I love anonymity!
Well, cant see it helped connecting Battle.net here. Still getting:A Battle.net resync has been requestedPosition: 0Queued: Character does not exist #104
Thanks - that was quick and easy :). Perhaps you should put somewhere that one can still use the username to log in.
I have now connected my B.net and Wowhead accounts. I figure it'll make it a little easier to track my characters and what I've done. I trust Zam because Wowhead has been one of the most useful and dedicated database websites since I started playing. I'm editing what I had previously stated on here. I am not the first to link his/her accounts. It just happened to only show my name when I looked at the medal (which is odd.) Thanks again, Wowhead!
I have two accounts, how can I add both?
This is nice idea! :-)
Great news! if my armory account would've worked, wich hasn't updated in 2 weeks...
Is is only for US? Whenever I want to attach my account it transfers me to US battle.net, is here EU version available?
I just did it, but I have a question.I live in the UK and when I went to login, the URL is the US version of it? It still worked, but is this intended?
This sounds great!
Very helpful for a newbie. Really easy to use. Thank you.
I'm getting "error="invalid_client", error_description="Bad client credentials"" when trying to attach. What's the dilly?
Yeh, i have same problem. I have eu account and link redirect to us.battle.net
