Well, I wanna get in before all the negative feedback: I think it's a good change. Though it won't kill the "being in the guild just for the perks" aspect, it was really more tedious than anything to not have spells just because your guild's not 25.
What about "Realm First! lvl25 Guild" FoS? Are guilds keeping those?
I am completely fine with this. As an officer in a heroic raiding guild, I can tell you that we do not make really any gold from cash flow for guild repairs. Having to level a new guild to 25 or even losing recruits as a new guild before we were 25 was really annoying, so this is good imo.
I ain't even mad. :P
I dont realy like the idea of removing all the leveling. Tho it gets rid of the guildinvite spam a bit. So we will se how it pans out.
HOW ABOUT GUILD SUMMONsummons guild members in your partyso less mech abuse
A good idea
Finally, I can create alts and level in peace!
Finally! I really hope this means I won't be getting guild invite spammed when I make new alts to level. I can only imagine how intimidating it is to be spammed with guild invites for someone new to the game. This needed to be changed in MoP tbh, but I'm happy that it's actually happening now.
@migas11 All the Guilds who achived that should keep it.
This is a good change. I know it is a good change objectively.Yet it's very hard to feel like it's not something that's being taken away from players rather than an improvement being added in.
Great... I loved getting gold from my guild per week.. It was pretty hard to reach lvl 25 and invite new members. It took me at least 3 months. I deserve that gold! :/ :( I give them perks, they give me money. I don't see what's wrong with that! So I guess if I want some gold I have no choice but to farm ores or herbs, which I really really really hate to do. Thanks for taking away an alternative method.
I'm really happy to see this change! The only way to start a Guild previously was to have a group of friends dedicated to leveling the Guild, and recruiting new members. I've been actively trying to level my Guild by doing dailys and other stuff, and I've spent a lot of time recruiting players and trying to keep them in the Guild. It's been really hard, because people would rather have access to all of the perks, and all I got was inactive players.
I always felt that this guild leveling system tore the community apart, which is exactly the opposite of what it was supposed to do. Originally it was a way to reward guilds and give people can incentive to join a guild, but instead it's become a requirement for people to join a guild to get a competitive edge.It also makes it very difficult to recruit people for new guilds as everyone is in a guild and it's difficult to determine who is committed and who is not. If I'm looking for a guild to hang out in, then I generally don't want to have a tag associated with my name, unfortunately then I lose that competitive edge.Blizzard is making a lot of great changes in Warlords, I'm really happy they're realizing the faults with the game and trying to bring a better state to Warcraft. Convenience is nice, but there comes a point where convenience ruins the community.
WOW!. I never reply in a negative way but this saddens me. I hoped to see more guild lvls some day now I see that will never happen. If they are going to change guilds that much then they need to give us something in return. Give us back the guild summoning option, gives us a Guild Hall. Maybe a guild currency to purchase guild perk items & add all the heirlooms to the guild vendor. I will never forget the feeling of pride when my guild hit lvl 25. Hate that other will never get that feeling.
Have a group willl travel, would sound nice! But ye overall, I agree with most of what the blue post says.
So I can make my guild-bank alt on the connected realm? Cool. Have her be a goblin (for the hobgoblin companion, to access her personal bank), be able to summon the guild chest (to access her guild bank), have the argent grunt with pony bridle, ride around on the mammoth mount, and give her the Walter and GUMM-E engineering toys. She can be a bank alt, no matter where she goes! :-)I will miss having the Cash Flow thing, though. I liked being able to get repairs out of it. But not having to level my personal guild up to level 25, that's a plus.
There are some good points and suggestions above. I agree that guilds that have already earned the "Cash Flow" perk should get to keep it. I also think that a "guild member summon" option would be fantastic. I have a level 25 guild on one realm and a level 2 guild (which IS hard to recruit into without the level 25 perks) on another realm, so I can see both sides of this.
For a small guild the cash flow perks was great, i do understand people do abuse this. But not all guilds raid there are pvp, social and leveling guilds, how are these guilds going to maintain guild gold flow now? put their own gold into the bank? blizzard need to remember not everyone is playing this game for high end game raiding.personally i did the high end raids in vanilla bc wotlk and the start of cata, but now only play to do my own thing, i have a max lvl guild that myself and a few rl mates hang out do our own thing
