I assume that this thread was introduced because Blizzard realise it's a problem. For what it's worth; I'm not on a PVP server for a reason, I don't like or do PVP; this decision includes when some bright spark in Blizzard thinks it's a good idea to introduce a PVP segment to a PVE quest-line. I've tried it a couple of times, both times without success; being comprehensively beaten has not made me reconsider my original decision, in fact it has reinforced my view that PVP is not for me, so shall not be getting a BoA cloak. To add - this thread prompted me to try it again; the first time in the mines, I got teamed up with an amazing group who walked it despite my attempts to help; I then tried the other one, first time - wipe; 2nd time, the Horde didn't have a full team and we did it.Moral of the story; I still don't like PVP, but I did it - yay !
Although knowing how these games are played certainly helps, if you're a strictly PvE player with no interest in PvP, the best advice is this: queue for these battlegrounds repeatedly until you randomly get matched up with 9 other players who are better than the opposing 10. That's it.Treat it like farming a mount or pet, where you just wait for the RNG to favor you. You'll get far fewer gray hairs than if you take upon yourself the responsibility of actually having to accomplish the victory. Obviously do your best to help your team, but don't sweat it if you can't. You'll get a win sooner or later. (Probably later, for Silvershard as Alliance, but even so, a "drop rate" of 5-20% every 15 minutes still isn't that bad.)
dear Blizz, NEVER force pvp into pve and vice versa again, absolutely no one likes that, and it's not 'challenging'.....it's annoying as all f*ck, even after pvp/pve gears were balanced.
As a Horde I didn't have any problem do these two but my friend on ally side had a hard time :D... all u need is patient, a lot of it :)
Guys. Seriously. You have to win 2 BGs. Yet you still complain? :c All those guides really make no change. All that's required is a common sense. Get orbs, get mine carts, defend them, etc. Not that sophisticated, really. Can't believe people exaggerate about such things and so much.
Yeah, IMO, this part of the PvE Legendary Quest should have never been required. For one, it's a PvE item - NOT PvP. It's not good for players of either PvE or PvP to require this as part of the PvE Legendary Quest. For people that only play PvE, it's very frustrating and for me... annoying. Personally, I don't PvP unless forced to, and this was a "forced to" situation. Also, it's not fair to the people that PvP! You're getting a bunch of PvE geared players (many with little to no PvP experience - most by choice) in a BG that PvP players enjoy and it's messing up THEIR experience - because PvP is something that they prefer. It would be like having a PvP geared player show up in a raid - they can get the job done, but they are not going to be as effective in their roll as if they had PvE gear and experience in that raid.Look at it this way... it would be like requiring a PvP only player to complete a specific PvE raid and/or boss as a criteria of receiving a specific PvP rating./rant
As much as it should, a guide doesn't fix stupid, so this leg of the chain will remain a pain for everyone else.
Except that is still doing pvp
You guys forgot how to show how to queue up.
For all of you that, like me, detest pvp requirements in my pve content, I'll have you know that I farmed this portion out to my 11 yr old nephew. And he one shot both and was more than happy to help. I suggest you all find an eager youngling and put them to work...err play. Cheers!
l really can't imagine how terrible of a player you must be to be stuck here. Congrats on your eventual free legendary that you definitely don't deserve. But hey, isn't that truly what wow orange text has come to mean? ROFL
In future quest chains involving PvP, they should make it a decision between PvE and PvP just like the Isle of Thunder dailies. I have like 5 alts on this quest, but I ain't bothering since they are just alts and I'm taking a break now anyway. Luckily my main is a tank so it felt less nerve-breaking since I had better survival. It's not the quest itself, but more about making you look like a fool and getting hated on. I get embarrassed if I do mistakes in front of other players and I don't know PvP very well so the whole process is very nerve-racking to me.Hell, I even feel sorry for the PvP players who have to play with mindless PvE players in those BGs. A lose-lose for both parties, so to speak.
