when does it start for eu ?
I think it would be around EU server maintenance, that's when it is for US. If we see a EU post, we'll add the info in :)
I wonder why it's only 2 weeks, and how big of an effect on the drop rate it will be. People will expect to finish or get a decent chunck of stones/sigils/secrets.
Well unlucky me is stuck. My current char just started the ominous 3 weeks valor points gathering quest...Guess Ill make the best out of it and grind rep to exalted. Still... unlucky me :/
Nice! Got a couple of alts coming up on the Secrets/Runestones section, so the increased droprate will come in handy :)
So, this is really only beneficial if you haven't started yet, or if you've completed A Test of Valor.
-sigh- Great, considering the two alts I'm trying to get it on are on the valor portion and since I'm limited to 1000 valor a week this will be completely useless to me. Wish they'd just make the stupid things permanent rather than limited-duration.
So if I complete the secrets part of the questline by middle of the week let's say... can I rerun the RAIDS to get the titan runestones? Or will I have to wait till the next week when lockouts are reset?
I agree, why only 2 weeks? Should be permanent, to get people playing WoW again in this seemingly endless period before 6.0 drops.
Huh. My best character's iLvl is ALMOST enough to enter SoO as LFR. (My warlock has 495, and it requires 496. A little grinding on the valor, and I should be able to get it...)Pity he's not even at the first stage of the quest line. (Of course, I despise raids, not just because I suck at group PvE, but also because my video card really isn't up to the task.)Guess I'll stick with working on fishing, cooking (and Sunsong Ranch, Tillers, and Anglers), profession discoveries, and trying to get all non-raid reps, all before 6.0 drops, across 6 alts.
The Test of Valor point is a really good point--the timing doesn't work out well at all for this. Extending the buff for more than two weeks as well as a boost for players working on Chapter II would make sense.
What about Ra-den in heroic ToT? It seems that he also drops Secrets of the Empire and Titan Runestone.
So with 8 toons with the cloak already I would have loved this sooner. But the fact that my other 2 late just literally started the Valor quest I can't help but feel extremely let down. I play this game a lot, obviously, and just because of the timing of the buff I have to get no love? How is that fair blizz?
I guess there were always going to be someone who got screwed over. We've just had 3 weeks of +100% valor buff, so this buff mostly serves as a "So you completed a Test of Valor, got stuck on Secrets/Runestones, and thinking of unsubbing? Here, have a buff"-type thing. At least the extra rep gain will help players get through the rep grind much faster (I always found that the most tedious anyway).
The Test of Valor point is a really good point--the timing doesn't work out well at all for this. Extending the buff for more than two weeks as well as a boost for players working on Chapter II would make sense.Really they should just start with secrets and skip the sigils and test of valor part of the quest. Cause what's the point at this stage? ToT is the only old MoP raid content worth running for gear since the timeless isle has better i-lvl that the rest. And how long will this cloak be good for in WoD and where it is just overkill as I don't see it being viable for raiding. But yeah, both alts that are 90 are stuck on the valor with one just starting it n the other not even half way.
I've added a note about Ra-den--I didn't count him because he's not easily accessible (heroic-only, must clear rest of ToT), but it's good to mention somewhere that he drops stuff.
Awesome, just in time for me since I start the Titan Runestone grind tomorrow!
Well there be a another chance for these buffs to come back later on during 5.4.8. ?
And how long will this cloak be good for in WoD and where it is just overkill as I don't see it being viable for raiding.Actually, I think the cloak will last pretty far into WoD. The cloak is iLvl 600 (+4 upgrades=616), isn't it?Given that Heroic Warforged SoO cloaks are 572, that's 44 iLvls. Supposedly (from what I recall, don't ask me for a source, hopefully if I am right, someone will come along with a source...), they're going to make the iLvl progression less exponential (we've had a spread of roughly 200 iLvls in this expansion; I think they're going to go with less than 25-35 iLvls per patch/difficulty in the next expansion).Figure 15 iLvls per patch/difficulty (so 6.0 raid at normal will probably be 587, heroic would be 602, and 6.1 raid at normal will probably be 617).Gotta figure around 1.5 patches of raids that it'll still be useful. Better than most gear you'll have from even Heroic SoO, which will probably not last 0.5 patches, right?
Great, now if they would only get rid of the PVP requirement for this. BLIZZ STOP FORCING PEOPLE WHO DO NOT WANT TO PVP TO PVP. Do you know how frustrating it is to go into BG after BG just to experience wipe after wipe? The people going into these BGs just want the cloak. They are not pvpers and have little or no pvp gear and little or no pvp experience. Why force players to pvp for a cloak which doesn't even proc in bgs. I have done dozens of bg's with my alts and for some reason (ie cough, blizz favours the horde, cough) cannot get a win - also could be cause i am and get stuck with non pvpers and have to go against experienced pvpers. The grind is bad enough, just drop the Bg requirement and you will make millions of happy customers.
