Has anyone bought the standard edition, and checked how much it costs to upgrade to the "deluxe" from standard? Just wondering if the upgrade cost is the same as the difference in cost between the two, or if it's a bit more?Same cost; about 20 bucks, going off the MoP collector addition.Cheers! Wanted to check before I bought either, 'cos sometimes companies charge an extra $5 or so to upgrade, rather then just the price difference =)
December 20?So much for their claims of an accelerated release schedule in the future.Edit: Then again, the page at www.worldofwarcraft.com says "Fall 2014" so I guess they're just saying "before the end of Fall" with that date.Even September is still too long, though.Patch 5.4 - 1st day of Fall: 378 daysPatch 5.4 - last day of Fall: 466 daysPatch 4.3 (Dragon Soul) - Mists: 301 days.Patch 3.3.5 (Ruby Sanctum) - Cata: 168 days.Patch 3.3 (Icecrown) - Cata: 364 days.Patch 2.4 (Sunwell) - Wrath: 233 days.Patch 1.11 (Naxx) - BC: 210 days. This pretty much sums it up.Even assuming the most optimistic release date (First day of fall) we are still looking at the longest wait without content in an expansion EVER. (I don't really think Ruby Sanctum counts, its just one boss, and that patch added pretty much nothing at all to get people engaged, in fact 2 weeks later nobody was even running the place anymore)Really saddened about this because I was hoping this would in fact be the shortest wait so far.U_U
They did add another PvP season Rank :PBut yea they should add something...Maybe some PvE surounding some cliffhangers in lore (Neptulon and others),Just some dungs or a arena style boss would make people happy realy.Long waits do make people leave. Just look what happens when a Tank leaves a 5m. Healer and Dps leave becouse it's boring to wait with nothing to do.
December 20th. I hope that's a sick joke.Since this is Blizzard, I don't think it is. However, I agree with you in regards to the release date being waaaaay too long after the end of the prior expansion. Reminds me of WotLK or Cata. If they are going to drag the current content out that long the least they can do is nerfbat heroic modes like they did in WotLK.
awesome i get to wait for the limited edition never understood why they never allowed per-orders & shipped limited editions out:-(.whatever; all i care about now is 6.0 patch or the patch with all the adjustments for the class, gear, races, talents and mob changes before i come back to wow. still haven't beaten MoP, and knowing they have all these changes would kill me to relearn everything all over again.patients is a virtue at this point lol
I will wait and buy my box CE as usual.
At First: Oh my gosh! I can't waittttttttt!Finding out when the game comes out: Fall 2014? GAH SUCH A LONG WAIT! v_v
$60 for a character boost to 90 seems like a huge rip off, when you only get the profession boost on level 60 or higher characters. I wouldn't pay more than half that. Looks like the free one will be the only one I get.
I'm not into the Joystik or main WoW website scene, so I'll voice my opinion here. So, level 90 boosts. There are commentators in this comment section that can neither comprehend nor manage to read this article that make me fear for the state of groups from now until Dec 20th. WoWhead has released an article right after this that literally walks you through gearing and managing your newly boosted character and I pray so hard that people will make extensive use of it.There are many times when you join a PuG of any size or for whatever situation where players just don't know what they're doing. Maybe 1 or 2 can be written off as account buyers, but let's face it, the majority of bad players actually sat there from 1-90 and were just too stupid to learn how to play WoW. They never read skills, they don't know what stats are or how they affect a player or which they need. They don't understand the basic idea of how the game works. (Enter encounter, buff, follow group, DPS, avoid or make use of mechanic, rinse and repeat until dead)Now roll out 90 boosts. I don't mind new players. I don't mind unseasoned players. I don't mind anyone who actually is trying to learn about the game. But when you've got a guy who is complaining on the second page of the comments about 90 boosts and how they are going to 'i lvl 90 with no riding skills' when it is clearly stated in the FAQ, and 10 people asking WHEN they will get it, when it says multiple times WHICH versions get it and WHEN, 'right away' and 'immediately' for digital, on release for box, after 72 hours for starter upgrades...it just eats away at ya, and now I don't even want to play my newly boosted 90 because Timeless Isle is an absolute joke, and I'm putting off my raids for early morning and avoiding prime-time at all costs to remove the chance that I get into a raid and 19/25 people say 'omg dood i just boosted 90 give me a break'.No, sir. No, I will not give you a break. Boosting to 90 does not remove the expectation that you will at least know what class you're playing. It does not remove the expectation that you should have some semblance of how the game works, and it certainly does not mean I 'have' to teach you how to play when you never even said you didn't know how and now I'm an $%^&*!@.So anyway. Boosting is a fantastic feature for seasoned players who are altaholics, just get bored in the grind, but really want to get a class or two to max...and on those same players, a huge burden to suddenly have triple or quadruple the amount of ignorant, rude, borderline moronic team mates. Also, the price is on point. Enough to deter buying 11 90s, enough to encourage a player to invest in it. It is cheaper than buying accounts, on par with realm transferring and faction swapping...I mean, of course I wish it was 25 bucks so I could have all 90s before Dec with minimal investment into the game, but who doesn't? And of course at the same time I wish it was 100 bucks a pop so that no one would do it. Oh well, it's as good as it gets in an MMO. lol
Boosting to 90 does not remove the expectation that you will at least know what class you're playing.Which is why boosted players go through a starting zonesque situation where they get basic information on the class.
Free level 90 boost with $50 preorder, yes or no? If yes, might some people buy multiple $50 preorders and save $10 off the $60 price of a stand-alone boost? You need an account to apply the upgrade to, so the alternative for a second boost is buying the battle chest + MoP + WoD + (if you want to attach the new 90 to your main account) character transfer = a lot more than $60
Don't worry too much bout the December thing. At the very beginning of the blurb, it says it'll be released in the Fall. Having previously bet on July, I'm changing that now to August/September. 6 months from now, tops. Bloody better be, am starting to get bored senseless, lol.

It took them two years to make it, and it was announced in the middle of WotLK, while WoD may or may not come out in between September 23-December 20th. Chances are, they'll make it a better expansion if they release it late. Anything long has a chance to be good, anything rushed is always bad.
Well it makes sense that this expansion takes longer than the others...a lot of new stuff is coming up such as new character models, the item stat reduction which might be a little hard to balance and stuff like that
Too excited for the new play on the Raven Lord!About time, guys!x
Mount and pet only from Digital edition or I can receive them from physical edition? And why 90 lvl boosting is 60$, they told it will be free for 1 char ?
Mount and pet only from Digital edition or I can receive them from physical edition? And why 90 lvl boosting is 60$, they told it will be free for 1 char ?You will get it from the physical collector's edition. You get one free boost; if you want more boosts it will be 60 dollars each.
I am personally happy to wait as long as they need. The better quality the next expansion is, the happier I am.
December 20th. I hope that's a sick joke.Me too, dude. D:
