There's an old hunter that doesn't play anymore, but after we met during Wrath, him and I were always goofing off in vent together, questing together, and raiding together. After deciding to leave the guild we were in, we went off and created a guild together. We weren't the best guild, but we cleared stuff and had a blast doing it. Not a day went by without him and I talking in-game or over the phone.I miss playing with him, but that's the way life goes.
I met my husband online about 8 years ago. He played wow, but i did not. a couple of years later, i began to play as well and eventually transferred all of my toons to his server. turned out we lived in the same state, about 2 hours from eachother. we are now married and have a beautiful son!
I've met some of my friends from WoW irl, but there's 2 I'd really like to meet. Unfortunately both recently took a hiatus from WoW due to RL stuff but we're still in contact via Facebook and our guild's forums. One of them has bought me game time and in return, few months later I bought him a copy of Cata (this was back when it first released), and the other, my guildmaster, I bought a Katana, because a general should have a sword and sabres were too expensive. :P Luckily though my guildmaster jumps into Hearthstone every now and again so at least I can still school him there, since RL has him over a barrel atm.
Met a guy in WoW during TBC, great guy that I talked a lot to. He quit WoW but we stayed in touch. Few years later he went to visit me (and other friends) in my country and was good fun. Over the years he's become one of my best friends.
I met with a lot of my still-friends 3-5 years ago but we still talk everyday and meet sometimes.
I met one of my best friends in Wow, I live in canada and he is in florida. I have flown to florida twice now to see him and spend time and i wish I could again soon I miss him! I have one other friend i've played with since the beginning of wow and I would love to meet him hes such a goofball!
A few years back we did a guild meet up in Vegas. Had tons of fun and we are talking about doing something again this summer if we can't meet up at BlizzCon.
Back in Vanilla WoW, a couple months after its release, I was looking for a group the good old way for deadmines. This hunter by the name of Drspazz whispers me asking for an invite and we proceeded to keep looking for what seemed like much too long. We got to chatting quite a bit about ourselves in general. A few hours went by and we never succeeded in finding a group but still quested together. Over a few days we became friends and he joined my guild with some real life friends :) time went on and he became someone that I am able to talk about anything :) we had many common interests and many good laughs. This was almost 10 years ago today and to this day, we still chat almost daily; share some laughs, play other games together, watch twitch streams, skype together and try new games. I've chatted with some of his friends and he has done the same and met many of mine aswell. I know a lot of the hard ships hes been through and same for him via me. We would love to meet in real life but me living in the great cold north of ontario Canada and him down in new mexico; we couldnt afford it. but one day! So this is to one of my best friend, Charlie! I love you man :) you are one of the greatest friends a girl can ask for! We have had ups and downs together but that never changed anything! And one day we will get to poke fun at Jeremy together IRL ^_^ <3
I've met so many great people over the 6 years I've played WoW, I started a hunter in TBC Crusade I played the game for sheer fun a lot of the time and whilst I was doing that there was always someone helping me or just talking and a lot of the people I knew were just great and every time I saw them in game we'd catch up but I said quit WoW for about a year and I haven't been able to meet any of them, and I wish I could because they were all great. :D
Some years ago a guy asked me i f could help him with a quest i did. He added me as a freind and we made a lot of charaters together. One day he told me that he had quit wow but we started talking over skype.
Would love to meet a couple of the friends I've gotten to know over the years of playing WoW!
I have a couple people I would consider really good friends that I met online. While we haven't officially met (yet) the two I'd consider the best will be moving out to the West Coast sometime in 2014, and I'm sure we're all going to get in so much trouble together. :DHowever, among the friends I made was someone I felt particularly fond of, everything about them just seemed so perfect, was just fun hanging out. Over time though, talks were a little more personal than casual, and in early 2012 I got asked if I wanted to fly down to meet and go to a concert with some tickets they won off a radio show (plus it was MSI too, woot!). So I tentatively agreed, went down and had the best time of my life. Then starting at Christmas of the same year, we decided to move in together, and here was are a year later, and I couldn't be happier! Unless there was a Chipotle closer, but that's the only thing that would make it better. :D
So I first met my friend K in Wrath. He was a newbie paladin to our guild, I was a warlock and had risen from a complete newbie to an officer by ICC when he started raiding with us. At first it was just raids, dungeons and everything else, but as we went into Cata it became a very solid, interesting, funny relationship. K was the first to step out of our mediocre guild and head into the real raiding arena. Later he encouraged me to apply to his guild and I followed in his steps. I have raided with his son, who also plays occasionally. I've become fb friends with his wife. We are so close online that people have mistaken us for Husband and wife - and so now we refer to each other as our Wow wife and husband, and even his wife does this. I get drunken texts from him at 1am, and other just funny things. When my computer died at the end of DS, it was K who boxed up an old spare laptop of his and sent it to me. I never asked, he just did it, so I could continue to raid and see content. We've never met. We've always spoken on vent and in game. But we keep saying 'this will be the year we will get to hang out with each other and the family and we need to do x y and z'. There are friends in your life that you know somehow were meant to be. That they would do anything for you and this would be how I feel about K. I know I don't write very well, but I <3 this concept.
i would never have played this game if it wasnt for my best friend. ive always steered clear of wow until he convinced me that i should check it out. so all these years later, here we are still friends and still playing. and making new friends along the way.
Met a guildie that I had known for a couple of years. Turns out she lived just over an hour away. Since then we get together a few times a year for cookouts and couples dates to movies and such. Nice to have such an awesome person as a friend both in Azeroth and in the real world too!
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
I used to raid with the same group of people for years. It was great. Sadly, then I had to move servers to find a guild that would accomodate the schedule of my new job :( I found good people in the new guild as well, luckily. This yeat we actually met IRL to watcj Blizzcon together.
My old GM lives in Dubai, always wanted to pay him a visit along with my brother. He was supposed to come to Amsterdam on a business trip and we'd meet up with him there but the trip got cancelled :(
About 7 years ago I was with a friend looking for a few more players for SH at about 2am ran into a couple of guys looking for same instance after a little while chatting we realised we were from the same UK town! After a few weeks we agreed to all meet up. We all became great friends. So great friends that myself and one of the guys have been in a relationship for 7 years this April and it is also the date of our wedding! We also have a 2 year old daughter! And the other guy is my husband to be's best man. Also a friend I met a couple of years later on WoW again is my bridesmaid!
Too bad I just got done moving my fiance I met on WoW from Arizona to Oregon to live with me. Still I think that WoW is surprisingly good at bringing people together.
