Well, if you want to use the incorrect definition and call it Pay to Win if you can pay for power (like level 90, or RAF to level faster, or whatever) then so be it.BTW: You're not Solaru from the WoW forums, are you?
im not so upset with the lvl boost as I am with the craft boost aspect of this.. it is going to greatly skew markets and just invite more RMT to the game... So for all of us crafters that went out and had to farm items to get past certain points and actually play the game are getting a big slap in the face now... All of a sudden them items you craft that are your bread and butter are now worthless cause 50 pay to win crafters are now flooding the markets and driving prices to the point of total loss...
and how is that any different than it has been for years im going to guess you have never done a random heroic or LFR i mean noobs already exist and leveling doesn't teach you anything about how to dps,heal or tank in a heroic or raid
Im bored by this game but Im addicted like all the "old" players of WOW. The advantages of this game is that no rich guy can overcome a good player like in other games. Even if a person will buy a lvl 90 char he isnt going to play as he would if he had the experience and understanding of the spells/actions he uses. Maybe this feature is to give the oportunity to play another factions char,or on another server.There was a time when a 70lvl player "knew" excactly how to play, as the levels rise its a common situation to see epic 90's dragging expensive pets,mounts and head gear not knowing how to move in a simple lfr. When a mount was available on 40lvl that ment that you knew how to move unmounted till then,now i see 90's "stuck" on doors and rocks, 90's that cant avoid simple damage, casters on bg's walking backwards instead of sideways. When the zandalari patch was out, there was a snake boss casting a poison labyrynth, the percentage of players to succed on this was very low when I asked a guy why he replied "I dont know how to move my char correctly" through the maze and believe me the same answer came from many many other people.They made the game "easy" and "hard" at the same time, when i see a person handling the char excellent on the ropes in timeless island i really clap my hands for them but when I see people attacking the boss when he is on "defence stance" it really annoys me.
Excellent idea. Just like RMAH and whatever else - it's a positive answer to external leveling sites and services. Maybe it won't be cheaper, but at least it will be safe and legit.As long as it's not as braindead as their transfer\\racechange prices. To think that I had to pay more cash to transfer an online toon that I'd have to pay for a sale of some AAA game... If it's at least 5-10$, it should be a more or less affordable and reasonable price.Yes, it is a step towards P2W, but for all intents and purposes, WoW has lived through FOUR expansions. Why the hell do people have to grind their way through every single one? Not every online game, let alone those that are P2W - can boast same history. Even selling arena-rating would battle boosting, but that'd be too far even for me(who hates pvp in general).New players indeed should have some restriction. One character should get legit 90. Or hell... some 60+. Even the player is not new to MMOs, he should at least get accustomed to dungeons, get to know his role in most minor aspects(what skills aggro, heal, deal required damage).As for veterans... And by veterans I mean those who "used" to play WoW for at least some time, not some vanilla-oldtimers or ... how to put it censored... "grinders", who have 11 90s on one realm - I think this will be awesome.How many alts have I made and stopped at 40-80, just because I simply couldn't spend more hours to grind xp. I want to try a rogue - that means I want to try him in at least normal top dungeons. Actually see what he is in endgame, not twinked out as I want. How his complexity works for my reaction. I don't want to go to <bannable word, gg zam> to test how a 90 class works.
Giving people the ability to pay to skip 90% of all of the game is the same as blizzard admitting that the past content itself is useless, if paid level 90 characters makes it through i can finaly and honestly say that i'll be done with this game, as it's becoming too much Pay2Win, and if this goes through IT WILL OPEN THE DOOR FOR MORE SIMILAR FEATURES THAT SLOWLY DELUDES THE GAME TOWARDS THAT MODEL IN THE FUTURE.
I remember when blue posts and blizz officials said that they'll NEVER make wow's model into a pay2win. this is just horrible on so many levels. blizzard is literally trying to make money at the expense of people who have put time and effort into the game. imagine some fool w/ money just barging in and ruining everything. by pay2win I dont necessarily mean a lead in items, obvious advantage, etc. that's not what I'm saying here, just to clarify. that's stupid. but by following through with this, blizzard is giving insta 90's way too much power.however, blizzard is right. hey, lets give new and old players alike a skip to new content, it's a new game after all, making them go through vanilla, tbc, wotlk, cata and mop again is going to be a long grind that will probably ruin their impression. while we're at it, lets add a little flavor by giving them a chance to experience things from a new point of view. the veterans have had their glory, and no doubt they'll have an easier time adjusting to the new challenges, that's their advantage. yeah, sure. but imagine this:new player, fresh 90, 29829349 skills, overflowing action bar, no idea/too lazy to macro and keybind. they'll be OVERWHELMED, i can say with absolute certainty that even a veteran who's new to the class would also have to deal w/ this to some degree. what i propose is, make the Proving Grounds or something similar MANDATORY for these insta 90s. at least a specifically tailored scenario/quest line to help them understand what's going on and get them up to speed with a class and role functionality. this should at least ensure that they'll be fairly competent when released into the wild and wouldn't make a mess everywhere they go. to build up on that, why not just put insta 90 buyers in a scenario, where they start at level 1, and as they complete the stages, they'll get a couple of levels at a time, at least then they'll be able to gradually absorb information and process it at a rate they'll appreciate. in the end they'll be 90 and possess an idea of what's happening around them. tl;dr: tailored starting quest lines for insta 90's so they won't be such bads that eventually lead to 50 LFG, LFR wipes and a bad person to play with in generaledit: but yea, it's just sad that players who cant afford this feature will be depressed at their progression rate and at the same time get mocked by the next person who just BOUGHT five 90s . ha ha look at me i just bought a 90 pce out u hobo have fun in outland by yourself im going straight to the big leagues. this sort of exclusion could and most probably will lead to wow losing more subs idk, jus my thoughts. there's always the possibility of itedit: while you're at it, just delete all old content, no ones going to go there anymore. people w/ money will skip them, those w/o money or the will to spend on this game will just get jealous and unmotivated to level through them. there simply is no point. this game will take its first step towards the pay2win model. everything about this is really stupidhere's a better idea tho, why not just boost heirloom exp for older, boring content to get people to focus more on learning their class, rather than grinding through stale challenges?
I've already got 14-15 90's. Obviously, I have a problem. I may or may not pay for the auto 90, but it won't matter either way, because I've been playing since early 2006. I think this option is a bit 'something for everyone.' Get out there on your 90, make some gold, start a newbie toon without being painfully broke on a new realm.Why not.
