Oh sweet jesus why? I like the old models they have a retro feel to them...Of all the possible first comments, it had to be this one..."Retro" seems like a bad excuse to keep the old, incredibly unflattering models. There are plenty of good "retro" things but these should not (and thankfully won't) be kept.
Wow! That is beautiful! I sooo want to be in the Beta for Warlords of Draenor! I can't wait for all the other updates in the rest of the races! XD
Worst first-comment ever.
If the human females gonna look like that i can bet the night elfs will be able to compete with Tyrande and Malfurion. Which is making me very happy.
I have several alts with the current human female model pictured. The "new improved" version has different proportions and shapes to facial features. Instead of a calm pretty European-looking woman, the new model reminds me of the Newtown shooter's eyes with a fake upturn to the sides of the mouth (like makeup to fake a smile), and the shape of the face is no longer heart-shaped. The eyebrows on the new model are too thick and a different shape. There is waaay too much makeup. The skin tone is way too dark. Maybe the new model appeals to guys, but Blizz does so little to appeal to females as it is. It reminds me of the garbage pail kids fad years ago--something a young guy would think was "cool", but unappealing to downright disgusting to many females. Sigh. My only hope is we get the option to retain our current toon model. If they wanted to appeal to more people, they would have more CUTE things added to the game, not ugly up things even more than before. They could make the undead more like popular movie/tv versions of vampires (without bones poking out). My favorite wished for improvement would be GNOME DRUIDS with CUBS as their cat form.
Don't change anything Blizzard. The only point of you posting on the internet should be to give the players a taste. The last time Blizzard gave in to design flaws was with female Worgen. It didn't get much better after that so how about you guys keep it the way you designed it and if you decide internally to change it, then by all means, but don't change it because a few people aren't okay with it. Personally I think that all of the designs at the moment are perfect. Love the human female! Really well done. I saw a post about "too wide eyes" but that's bull*!@#, keep them that way, they're great. I have no criticism, just that you should trust you gut more than that of random internet dwellers seeking to critique as much as possible. It's not supposed to be 100% realistic because it's virtual, but damn it, so far it's a HUGE jump from our old looks to the new looks. The best part about the new looks to me is that they aren't different, just better. Keep up the good work Blizzard and don't get discouraged by what others say again please.
I can't wait to see the rest, these are fantastic!
Hanging out to see Dranei, trolls and Belfs. These new models look great. Can't wait to see them in action!
Overall I like all the new models. But please don't lose the shifty eyes of the female humans. In the new models above something of the shape of the eyes are lost. And with eyes, a slight change can make a big difference in appearance. And don't lose the wide, shapely hips either. I like both of those features on the current models. We already have bony Bloodelves if we want a character with small hips. (btw my main is a female belf)And I hope my Undead female doesn't lose her straight stringy hair. I specifically chose that hairstyle from the barbershop. I like her hair kind of stringy and unkempt. For one, she's half dead, and second, she's my battle-lord. =)Of all the changes... I've been saying this for years... Female Dwarves have no chin. They look like Mrs. Piggy as it stands now.WOW! The female Dwarves actually have chins now! (...as soon as the changes take effect) I think a lot more people will be enticed to roll female Dwarves after the new model is implemented. I may even roll one myself; even though I mostly stick to my Horde server.
Nice job Blizzard! The models you have released so far are fantastic! Even the gnomes look good. -Oh, don't let that get out tho, I have a reputation to keep. <wink>Personally, cannot wait to see the Elf models! Maybe I'm just bias, but we all know they are going to look great! c'mon just a little peek? /beg
I think these new models look great. The hands and feet in particular look much better.
Everything looks so cool people will have a hard time choosing which race to roll.
I am ridiculously excited about all of this :)
Looks amazing. The fem gnome mouth looks to smiley and psychotic though and they still haven't fixed the floating underwear issue female undeads have.... sorry i just don't like all the bones on display. But not to be a negative nancy this is a vast improvement on the originals and nice to have the base characters match the graphics of the current content! They look really good. ^_^
I don't understand why this is news. Truth is, if they didn't revamp the character models nothing would've changed in-game. The fact they have and everyone is oooh'ing and ahhh'ing makes me scratch my head. Most people cut their teeth on this game, so it's "those" people I guess that think it's great.
I beg you blizzard, give the poor worgens tails :0
I beg you blizzard, give the poor worgens tails :0.....Why? There is no reason at all to do that.
Why do the new models look exactly like the old models? That completely defeats the point of updating them.
This will PROBABLY mean fps issues for wow players like me that have a old pc, while I can run wow with everything on low and 1024x768 resolution with 30-60 on cities and 90+ on other places, this will probably affect me, and others.Does anyone know if this increased textures will affect users like me? Because my fps have gotten worse every expansion, I know that because I was playing vanilla wow on a private server and I had everything on high without any fps issue. Oh well
