I read Bit-Tech's review on these "can's" and was not too impressed, it's not that there's anything wrong with their specifications/performance. It's just I can not stand how they look. Like the image above, if it was real Red Chrome I'd love them, but that type of plastic is just ugly and cheap. (It was the type of plastic/look used back in the 1950's!)Am I the only one that finds them to be so unattractive?
I have a pair of these in plain black and while they aren't super stylish they are amazingly comfortable and they sound great
I have the red one and I think the red/black accents look pretty nice. To each his/her own though :)
Hehe, got the green ones :D
Tip: Set up a Slickdeals alert for this item. Goes on sale for 49.99 a lot (usually Frys)
The similar headset I got at BlizzCon this year has many of the same features and I freaking love it. It's Diablo III themed in appearance and has glowing red lights on it but other than that it's near the same as these and they're extremely comfortable. Love wearing them!
Got a pair of these last year for Christmas after my Siberia V1 finally gave in after about 4 years. I use them for everything; gaming, listening to music and mixing. They're super comfy, and the retractable mic is a great step up from the original clip on one. One thing that did concern me though is that the cable is rather thin at the jack end, but so far i've had no problems.
Is the band that it rests on padded with some textile now? If I recall correctly it was just rubber (or rather something synthetic that looks like rubber) on the original Siberia which was pretty awful, because it tugs painfully at your hair when you adjust it and dries out and cracks eventually.
The appearance has suited me just fine--especially since it keeps them at an affordable price (particularly when on sale) while using a mix of quality components that provide durability, good comfort, and reasonable audio quality. Mine have survived situations that broke multiple previous headsets from other manufacturers.
funny that you review this now. I just received my Dota 2 Siberia v2 headset I won in a contest. This headset is amazing. Everything written here is true.
Had them for an year or so before they broke and sound stopped coming out of one ear. Exchanged them at the shop for a new one, and it broke in the exact same manner roughly a year after. I'm not sold on it, though it did feel comfy.
This was literally an advert, not a review. "This headset doesn't just feel good--it also looks good. It's even been featured on the runway and comes in several eye-catching colors including red, orange, and blue."? Seriously? I feel like I'm reading an infomercial. Are SteelSeries paying you for this, because if so you really should declare it.
i would get the Beats headphones instead they have the same quaility and more stylish
I got white ones... The comfort is amazing! You can listen to music, play games, have them on your head for hours and you wont even notice them. Not the best looks but if you get the heat or ice you won't be dissapointed
go back to the hipster cave *whips*
Looks a lot like the same design as the diablo3 headset which I've found to be uncomfortable (the padding was too thin for someone big a big head like mine, and my ears actually press against the hard speakers) and the internal plastic parts were cheap and flimsy and all shattered after about a year of use.I hope these are better designed, but by the looks of them, probably not.
I've had a pair of these for almost a year now and they remain the most comfortable headset I've ever owned. Great sound quality as well, the only detraction is the mic is a little difficult to deal with sometimes, very small though.
Sound quality isn't amazing but I have yet to find a more comfortable headset which is pretty important when your a nerd who plays WoW all day. I got two new headsets from Black Friday deals, Sennheiser 360(150$) and another Siberiav2(50$). Figured getting a 300$ headset (Sennheiser 360) for half off was a really sweet deal. The small boost to sound quality isn't worth it for the loss of comfort. I'd recommend V2 anyday, super comfortable and cheap.
