This is too much text, show me a picture please!
Sounds like they have a plan, now to see how it pans out in beta.
I don't care to relearn the game for the nth time, looks like this is where WoW and I part ways, finally.
I still dont see why reforging got taken out. This explains hit/expertise, but reforging still needs to be done, or you will have to hope for the ONE piece with crit and mast, or the ONE piece with hast and spirit, its dumb
I'm interested in seeing how this whole Spirit thing is going to play out as a healer.
While I do like most of the ideas. This sounds like a very complex set of changes to implement. I would not get too attached to any of these ideas until closer to release. This sounds so ambitious that some or all of it may need to be reworked or scrapped.
The more simple they make the game, the more boring it sounds. :(
This system is going to encourage people to roll over and over again on the same piece, with the hopes of maximizing the effects of the random tertiary stats, which are determined when the item is looted. Also expect to see less D/E in raids, because people will be re-rolling on the same items, to maximize their tertiary stats, so less mats for enchanting. Though, there's supposed to be less enchants, so we'll see how this works.I love that gear will swap specs with you.I'm excited that spirit is no longer going to be a DPS stat. I am so sick and tired of rolling against healers for gear with spirit on it.I'm looking forward to WoD... I just hope I don't have to re-re-re-re-relearn my characters.
If you are that hardcore min-maxing, then Reforging wasn't fun anyway.. it was just a tool to help min-max. The level of effort you'll need to min-max stays about the same - waste a lot of time reforging, or waste a lot of time hoping for a drop. The latter of which actually involved playing the game more...And if you are not a hardcore min-maxer, then reforging is just a "bonus" that morphed into a hassle after about a month of play. I don't reforge for fun, I reforge cause AskMrRobot tells me to.A casual player like myself will take a nice upgrade and maybe one day swap it for a side-grade with better secondary stats. A Mythic raider will probably wait for that perfect combination, but at least they are playing the game, and not talking to Robots and Ethereals all day
I really like the idea of gear changing with your spec. I know it seems like a lot of changes at once but I think once we start working with it, it will be fine. I just have a bad feeling there's going to be a lot more people rolling on gear drops, which will lead to a lot more fighting over gear. I hope I'm wrong.
you guys are destroying the game ..period
I like the idea of gear switching specs with you, but everything else is just dumbing it down WAY too much. If they make the game any easier it won't be a challenge, and not worth the 15 bucks a month. IF this goes into effect, I will probably drop WoW. Sorry, but I like a challenge in my games.
Im rather intrigued by the removal of the mitigation stats and the like. Im wondering what they will be doing to make up for that. As well as the changes for healing which I havent done since Cata so maybe I'll hold off gearing one until this expac, lol. Hopefully it doesn't totally turn wow into a hand-hold fest.
Looks like Blizzard has run out of names for the equipement so they decided to implement this weird gear distribution for the armour pieces. I would like to show an example on why this system has flaws. In my guild my paladin is the only plate dps, our DK tank is the only plate tank and our paladin healer is the only plate healer. Since now each of the three of us gets his loot according to it's specialty, without the need to roll with each other or someone else. With the new expansion all three of us will have to roll for the very same piece, which means that it will take us much longer to gear up and progress. It will be the same thing as with the tier pieces all over again but with more gear. Even now, almost 3 months after the release of SoO, i still have only two tier pieces (one that i won from the celestials, and the second from a flex raid) , since i can't get another, either because it doesn't drop or someone takes it because he has more dpk than me. I'm really glad they are removing hit rating and expertise, but i dont like the idea of not being able to reforge critical from my gear into something more usefull (BTW i want my 120k spent on the mount back).
Blizzard could cure cancer, and people would be QQ'ing about it.Nothing proposed makes the game simpler -- if anything, it's more complicated. Sure, they drop hit/expertise, dodge, and parry...and add readiness, amplify, multi-strike, movement speed, lifesteal, readiness, and avoidance. How is that simpler, exactly? As for "I like a challenge in my games," nothing about the current or proposed gearing system is a challenge. In either case, you do what AskMrRobot tells you to do. Done. Sometimes you might prefer a different kind of build than what it recommends, so you just reforge everything to stat Y instead of stat X -- still not a challenge! The challenge is in getting the gear in the first place, not in what the gear does or what you do with it once you have it.
