Blizzard brought this system in back during BC as a way for people to find people on their current server. It never worked as intended because finding pug's to fill a raid spot was never necessary. So the system was left to the spiders....As for OQ, I am pretty sure that was brought out during the BC era (may be wrong and another addon was used during that time) also and only used for grouping people up for BGs, then RBG when that was brought into the game, then it got expanded to xrealm raiding. There that should give you the brief history of the Other Raid System and why people adapted to using OQ.
Fantastic detail. Thumbs up!
I love this <3 omg.
The forsaken females and frankensteins bride hold so many similarities it isn't funny.
nice looking mount
I got all excited for a sec when I saw they were doing world bosses too..... then I saw picture and realized only newest bosses listed. I was hoping to find sha/nalak/gal/oon groups :( (yes I know the gear they drop is outdated but I want the mounts!) I've only seen one group in the last month for those. And I agree those forsaken are way too glamorous - not that I will ever play one (EW!)
Why? because blizzard doesn't currently have anything as close to this, for searching for players (e.i.)cross realms.I don't think they're serious enough about pugs to be honest. I guess we'll soon find out, how much better it is or not vs. OQThis is just another example of why people don't use the built in voice chat. Add-on's and installed programs like curse and team-speak, mumble, Vent. make it a lot easier for people to play how they want to.
Just to point out to those complaining about the...shapliness of the new female undead female model is that a) the model hasn't been animated so it might be much saggier animated and b) the current female undead models, which the new models are meant to be an evolution of, may be 9 years old and very pixely but were pretty shapely in their time. There was a clear intent even back then to make all of the females look attractive to some degree (will giving the option for "less attractive" faces). Just compare alpha female trolls to live female trolls.
I refuse to play a Forsaken toon, I cant stand the fact that if they can kill a target they then eat it to heal. Especially if that target was another players character.
I hope the new Forsaken stand up a bit straighter than the old ones, I love playing an Undead but the humpback posture is annoying.
Didn't they try that LFG raid finder in Cata? I don't think anyone used it.
I love the idea behind having Ordos and Celestials being a queue up event. Considering the same requirements to do them would be the same, i.e. legendary quest line etc. this would make it easier to pick up a raid for Ordos in particular.
With regards to oQueue - I'm really not willing to support an add-on whose developer refuses to comply with Blizzards standards by removing his in-game Donate button. I'd rather use Blizzards own feature at that point, and I know many others feel the same way. If they're improving the system, I'm all for supporting it.As someone else said - having a feature is useless if no one actually uses it. The first step in getting it used is to...well....use it.
One question... we will be abble to re costumize our characters (since the models will change)? If not, make new chars now looks a bad decision.
OQ is the only way I am able to get into any meaningful groups. Why is OQ so useful? I am able to sign up for multiple groups and even wait list for an open spot. Why is this good? I can run around Azeroth and do all kinds of things while waiting for a group. I don't need to sit in a city, hoping someone will put a call out for an open spot. I can go quest, farm items, or whatever. I get into cross realm groups for world bosses (which never form on my realm) or old content. This has breathed new life into the game for me. Blizz may not like that the authors of OQ ask for donations in game but the truth is OQ is the best PUG tool available and Blizz needs to either buy this from the authors and improve it or just send the authors a thank you letter and keep quiet about the donation button because the only way Blizz keeps subscribers is to keep its players happy and having all of options that I get from OQ keeps me and many others very happy.
As far as I'm concerned blizzard's LFG is not cross realm and is not available for old content. I've been out of the game for some time and missed the raiding on Firelands and I would like to go to get achieves and transmog stuff, yet I never can find a group for it as my server is dead populated and I got no opportunity for other realms...
I hope the Human Model Update is as good as the crap they are working on right now
Absolutely like WotLK raid browser! Looks like yesterday. :D
