No flying until 6.1? No exploring for me until 6.1.I'll just hang out in Thunder Bluff between queues like I always do.
I disagree with you, I´ve been playing for a long time aswell and I can say that not flying is better in most cases, besides what if u can´t fly for the first 3-4 months of the xpac? you can still get to flex, lfr's and 5man through the que system and use the flight path for normal, even if you are a Pvper you don´t need to fly to get to your bussiness, I´m sure that the new PvP isle won´t allow fliying during the entire expantion. The people that is truly and badly affected by this would be farmers that spend a lot of hours flying around gathering stuff to auction but in the end if the new Garrisons allow your followers to gather resources for you while you are offline it doesn´t matter they were messed up anyway.
My biggest concern right now: What if I bring Thick Clefthoof Leather from present Outland to the old (new?) Draenor. Will that create a time-paradox gap beyond Gnomish repairs? And what if I slap a Clefthoof Bull from the past with his leather from the future.. screaming and shouting "Think McFly, THINK!".. that would be.. awkward, right?
Flying trivializes combat--you can just leave combat at will. Imagine what dungeons or battlegrounds would be like if you could fly--the experience would be cheapenedum no, u cant just fly away during combat. u cant even mount a ground mount in combat, what a stupid reason.he wasn't talking about that - he was talking about flying into a spot , killing the one mob you want , remounting and flying away . Instead of having to kill mobs to reach the ones the want - it totally trivialises combat as he said
Being forced to the ground may benefit for PvP players, they get a bit fun (mostly ganking lower level players), but thats all.On PvE realms, i dont know really. No daily quests, no flying mount, what next? I will be 100 in few days, no matter if flying mounts or not. Then i will stay in some city and wait for patch 6.1.
THIS IS AWESOME! i like it.. Tell me guys, i havent read so much about this new Draenor World... But is there a switch portal to Outland and to Draenor or are they going to change the whole Outland place? Sorry for my bad spelling.
Are we EVER going to be able to fly in Silvermoon and Azuremyst/Bloodmyst Islands?
So much win! This is an awesome decision!
THIS IS AWESOME! i like it.. Tell me guys, i havent read so much about this new Draenor World... Sorry for my bad spelling. The dark portal now leads to Draenor and they are still working out how we'll be getting into old Outlands.
The most important thing when it comes to Flying for me is avoiding mobs when doing dailies and other max level content. I hated Isle of Thunder for that very reason. I don't mind leveling on ground mounts but having zones that are for max level content and having no flying available just sucks. At least with the Shado-pan you could fly to avoid all the mantid mobs.
I'm perfectly fine with this. It will mean, for one thing, that the fastest to level to cap won't be able to monopolize gathering nodes. As far as I'm concerned, they could also revert basic riding back to 40, epic to 60, flying to 70 etc., and bring back weapons skills, ammo, reagents, alchemy labs, mana looms and so on and so on.The trivial things people find to complain about is a source of unending head shaking.wait..u like not being able to mount til 40? to have several bag spaces taken up by othewise useless stuff that could run out mid raid? to be ok with the no-flying a patch is fine..but to actually go backwords? i suppose u also want the old talent system back, so we would have talents that were "cookie cutter or you;re a noob" and others that were never picked.
I would say this is a great idea... But it's the SAME thing they've done 'all along'. Excluding Cataclysm. No flying until level cap and that first major patch gives plenty of time to ENJOY the leveling trip, finish out some quests, or maybe level an alt in a different way, take a few different paths, whatever. It's always been fun when they did this. Plus, it's an excuse for us to break out all our badass rarely seen ground mounts! They get ZERO love aside from those few months between xpac release and that next patch. Give them their few months of glory, guys!
guys this is gonna Suck and if you don't believe it now you will when it's released, I never played isle of thunder (mainly because it was cheAp and nasty content) or timeless isle because if the no fly, let's see what happens: you mount up, you run, you aggro tons of mobs, you get auto de mounted, they one shot you, you did, u release, run all the way back, ress, mount up, run aggro more mobs, die, and it repeats over and over, oh the fun is just overwhelming me.... and everyone knows I'm right reading this whether you admit it or not, I'm not saying I won't play the game because I'm not that sad enough to quit a game over that, but simply it's a terrible idea.
Are we EVER going to be able to fly in Silvermoon and Azuremyst/Bloodmyst Islands?from what I saw at Blizzcon (the question was asked), nope.
I'm just getting tired of leasing my flight. How many times are we going to have to buy/earn something we already paid for? Do any of the "blues" even play the game? I mean really play, not some "herp derp I haz acct", but for FUN?No big issue waiting until 100 on main and doing quest chain that's able to be done in 3-4 hours of hard push to unlock account.Do have an issue with having to do some BS grind chain for months until they feel like we earned it again, then fork over a bunch of gold (for the what is it now the 5th time?) and again on all my alts.Flight has given me more of this "immersion" they're spewing than anything else. To be able to explore by air has let me find more out of the way places I'd never have seen otherwise. Nagrand nursery comes to mind. The PvP part I really never worried about. If I wanted to kill someone, I have enough ways to dismount them and live from the drop.EVE is looking better the more derpcrawler posts (funny thing is an EVE ad for the new content is on my side ads here on Wowhead).Really would like to be able to dislike/downvote blues on the official forums.
Flying allows you to escape or enter combat at-willEscape....lol
he wasn't talking about that - he was talking about flying into a spot , killing the one mob you want , remounting and flying away . Instead of having to kill mobs to reach the ones the want - it totally trivialises combat as he saidThis won't work when used dozens of times, but when there's a final, named quest mob to kill and you want the player to acknowledge that there are number of mobs guarding that despite flying mounts, let those guard mobs aggro and shoot down players swooping in. And let's not forget Rogues and Druids (and Restoration Shamans questing with Druids) can skip those mobs, too. Well, even Hunters.
Good change imo, it'll breathe some life into PvP servers.
Oh yeah, no, I play this game to see the environment and the mountains and the lakes and plains from ground level. They do tremendous art, no doubt. But video games hold VERY little to no second-take value. It's a game, marveling at it over and over and over and over... and over and over just isn't what I (and probably most people*) play it for. I completely understand no flying while leveling, makes perfect sense. But really? Not until the first major patch? Awful idea. If you gave the option of flying to 1000 players but told them the scenery while on a ground mount would be awesome, 999 players still fly. If people WANT to take in the views, they will. Don't force it on us.
I feel that this is a bad call on par with all the dailies & rep grinds there were at the beginning of MoP. Sometimes Blizz feels like they got their finger on the pulse and are responding to player demand but it just aint so.Blizz says success on Timeless Isle. With so many changes from 5.0 and the up coming ones for 6.0 I've gotten the feeling that Blizzard is hemorrhaging badly, meaning loosing subs, and they are grasping at all kinds of things to reduce the time costs and keep/attract old players as well as new.I've leveled multiple alts just through dungeons, no quests after level 15 at all. The dungeons are so nerfed, an at level tank with gear and skill can solo many of them. Just a healer & tank can do most of them - dps just makes it go faster. One nite, a tank & my shaman healer totally cleared all of BRD just the two of us after the dps left the group. It was great fun :). I really like BRD, I have spent a lot of time there over the years. First dungeon I ever solo'd.Do you really think it's smart to make it take longer to do stuff in 6.0? Esp. when toons get to max level?I love this game. I often stop in awe and wonder at the beauty of it - it really is amazing. I also appreciate all the little details and story lines, esp. the small out of the way ones and knowing that someone made all that happen, it's just so cool! I ride ground mounts at times because they're fun, not because I have no other choice.I hate the tedium there can be and I hate not being able to fly.I had been playing games for many years before D&D came out - mostly military scenarios. I was in a club and got a new game every month - hexagons, dice and all, lol. In those days, modeling the real world in a detailed way for gaming was a cool part of the thing - GG went all out, I had all of his books. During WoW Vanilla, it's clear that was happening some then too. Things have shifted to less like real life, more like a game where one can kick a**.For those that would say someone like me is impatient, I made over 300 kills trying to get the fox kit companion pet with no luck, it was part of doing dailies up there. After the change, I earned what I needed and bought it. I have 482 unique battle pets, some with long grinds including hundreds of kills. On my main toon, I have achievements for 5000 daily quests and 3000 quests.I hate not being able to fly. Did I say that already?World of Warcraft is a great game and I appreciate it very much. I would have loved to play it as a kid but no one had computers then. Please, please rethink this flying business!
