Just dont ever buff interesting classes like fire mage and fury warrior. Just buff those one button wonders frost mages and huntards. gg.Neither of those are one-button wonders. What's the one button for Frost Mage? Frostbolt? Try it sometime. You do crap dps if all you use is Frostbolt alone, and if you'll notice Frostbolt is getting a nerf in 5.4 anyway.Ice Lance? Ice Lance is powerful when it activates combos like Shatter and, in 5.4, Icicles, but Ice Lances do *horrible* dps if all you're doing is hitting the Ice Lance button over and over again. To get good dps out of a Frost Mage, you need both Frostbolt and Ice Lance, one of the bomb spells, Frozen Orb, Frostfire Bolt, Deep Freeze, and the 2-3 freezing spells (Frost Nova, your pet's freeze, and optionally a talent). That's about 9 buttons, which strikes me as a marginally larger quantity than 1 button. That's stationary single-target dps without need for interrupts, by the way. Include those things, and you're up to about 13 buttons just to even start to be competitive.I could do a similar discussion of Hunters, who need to do so much more than spam Arcane Shot to be competitive.
What people seem to be missing about the Healing Rain change is that for Restoration shamans, Healing Rain has already been buffed by 100% (via Purification) compared to live servers.Overall, 5.4 has a 30% nerf to non-Restoration Healing Rain (more for Enhancement if you consider the nerf to Glyph of Healing Storm), and a 40% buff to Restoration's Healing Rain. So, why? Why is so important to discourage non-Resto from using HR? I play primarily Ele now, and the number of times I've used HR to help us out, I can't even count. With a 30% nerf, and nothing to compensate for the lost ability to handle offheals, what was the rationale?
Revert Stormtrike nerf I don't wanna depend on crappy pve trinkets and Elemental Blast for nerfs. Totally ruining any viability of enhance to perform well on pvp because there wherent any well thought processed compensation buffs elsewhere. Ascendance never hit retarded vs pro players because there's so many counters to it it's not even funny. Don't cater to noobs Blizzard. Making the game have fotm classes is not good design. The problem was when you have an enh sham with all cds popped and an attack which hits incredibly hard already but can also crit and spawn windfury procs it was just doing too much damage for a single attack(even if only say 15% of the time). Just like people qqed nonstop about how tfb used to work even though it very rarely would reach full stacks in pvp. Stormstrike was just too strong for a single attack and they reverted the lava lash nerf. I can relate to your pleas though since I pvped as enh sham back in bc and wotlk, back when ss didn't even have a damage buff(beyond increasing nature damage) but I also arena quite a bit and have seen enh shams absolutely demolish people in just seconds.problem is gonna come when they realize how ridiculously easy it is to counter enhancement shamans and how bad their sustain damage is gonna be thanks to now depending on elemental blast instead of unleash fury thanks to them effing up the set bonus for no reason as well. WIth every other melee buffed except paladin and druid. Shamans will be at the bottom
Healing Rain gets a 30% nerf? I guess I wasn't aware that shamans were outperforming other healer classes by so much!Yeah...healing rain isn't exactly the overriding factor keeping everyone alive during Margera rampages. And here I was on my way to thinking that Shaman would be top heals in 5.4. I'm not sure that giving it a 2 yard bonus will really be all that awe-inspiring, or that this bonus required a nerf to its power. It is most often used in low movement fights and/or on melee, where players are pretty close or stacked already. A 5 yard bonus would have been something.
i feel you brother :'(
There is a lot of moaning about resto-shamans... which is hard to grasp, since as of 5.3 I outperform most equally geared healing classes in almost all 10-player raid ecounters I've done. All the existing cooldowns and the upcoming buffs will make an awesome healer in 5.4. Especially glyphed chain heal has been very much overlooked in the patch comments. It will make shamans much more competetive in spread-out groups. But I have a question: will the condictivity-specced healing rain cooldown still reset after 10 seconds, or after 10 seconds + added duration? I'm guessing the last, since otherwise you would be able to place more than one active healing rain. On the other hand, replacing an active healing rain will become much more difficult, if you have to wait up to 40 seconds for it to expire. Or does the active one cease to run when placing a new healing rain? Does anybody have an information about this?
so will demo, afflic or destro be the best lock spec
