Yeah, I'm REAL EAGER to put my credit card information into the WoW client. LOL!
While for most things an in-game store would be pretty cool (not having to run through things and enter codes for items, etc) the P2W possible abuse makes me cry. It's bad enough that if you level an alt without heirlooms people think you're a noob (or just stupid, as I was informed by another player) but this would just take it way past what makes good sense, imo.Not saying Blizzard shouldn't do it, just saying they should really consider ALL the ramifications (short and LONG term) before committing.
Personally I hope they don't add an in game shop mostly due to the fact there isn't any reason too other then going free to play, they already get enough money -.-
Greedy Blizzard is greedy.
Anyone who says this is pay to win doesn't know what that means. There is no actual advantage coming from this, other than getting to the end faster. No extra stats, no special gear, just less effort on a few things that impact no one but the person getting them. This isn't an argument for or against microtransactions, just wanted to make that point.
Please add Murki to this shop, he's been Korean exclusive with no way for us to get him, and he has an unique skin.
Just want to quickly point something out to some.Free to Play (F2P) is a model where the in-game store supplies items (generally cosmetic, but boosts and such are not unheard of) to players that do not give an unfair advantage.Pay to Win (P2W) is a model where the in-game store supplies items that directly give you an advantage (in other words, super gear). These things are not found in any other way, so you have to shell out cash for top performance.Exp buffs and buy-able elder charms have no effect on in game ability. They are things that are naturally in the game.. you're paying to save the time you'd normally spend on farming. They have a good foundation, and it'd be great though if they would switch to a F2P model since their real money services/goods cost the same (if not more) than the subscription fee :( But only time will tell on that one.
so to clear this up Asian Regions get Better gear and more higher lvl toons faster than the rest of us which means they get better chance at mounts pets titles due to the raid lock out timer being cut down for them
Let me pose this question to everyone, would you be ok with Bliz making heirlooms purchasable for say $5 each in their store?
Heirlooms are a bit sketchier. Mostly due to the fact that they take more of a time investment to obtain than say 50 lessor charms. As well as the fact that outside of farming darkmoon fair for months, your going to have to have a toon thats 80+ to get ahold of them. so if they were purchasable instore that would potential provide new players with something they couldnt obtain yet. Their also a bit more focused on "player power", at least during leveling, as heirlooms tend to be stronger at level than similar level gear. Especially things like hats and trinkets which normally are hard to come by at lower levels.
