Is it me or this season's gear looks like they pulled a piece of paper out the pin and got a fish to try to draw this !@#$ im seeing the &*!@ wow doing man and the paladin set dude there is nothing holy about that lol.
Why not just normalize the gear for battlegrounds? I understand that taking the time to compete in arenas, earn enough Conquest to get everything, and gearing oneself for arena competition is one thing. PvP'ing every now and then for a change of pace is another. Make everything either 450 (crafted-level items) or 458 (basic honor gear), so it's no longer so gear-dependent. New 90's or new PvP'ers won't get face-raped so hard, and those that take the time to get the CP gear will still have their regular PvP i-level for arenas, where dedication and gearing will mean the difference between a 2200 rating and a 2500 rating. BG's would actually take skill and coordination to win without being so dependent on who's geared and who isn't. If they can normalize a toon's 500+ i-lvl to 463 for Challenge mode dungeons, why not do it for BGs?
My bud told me around 14% were gone just like that. This could get messy.
@ctI totally understand your viewpoint: progression should be rewarded by more progressive gear. However, the pvp progression gear in the past discouraged late entrants into pvp. After all, it really isn't fun to have better equipped players keeping you buried in the graveyard.Blizzard must contend with competition. Another MMO, League of Legends, is all about progressive pvp arena play. It is drawing away the pvp player base in WoW.Blizzard needs to increase PvP participation or lose its remaining PvP subscription base. It's my conclusion that this is driving the 5.3 PvP changes.
