There is another issue with this revised gathering and that is for all those not a blacksmith. The availability of starting and intermediary materials will become even more scarce if you don't do the gathering yourself. So unless they streamline all the professions that are dependent on these gathering skills, everyone else has just been given another "oops, sucks to be you".Is this another way to encourage people to make even more toons by Blizzards creative marketing intelligentsia?
Erm...Blizzard has totally forgotten about Engineering. After all, other professions have USEFUL 522 items - why not any for engineering? The "best" item we have is retinal armor which is 476, BOP, and only usable by engineers. Granted, I believe the ilvl to be a bit underrated (as with the dragonling), but it is still disappointing to not have more useful items. A new mount would be great (if it ever happens), but I think they could bring in some other items. I've been seriously considering unlearning engineering and learning Blacksmithing because engineering, besides being pretty gimmicky, is not even particularly lucrative. I think the most (reasonably crafted) expensive engineering item I can sell (beside the mega-pricey mounts) is Lord Blastington's Scope of Doom, and maybe get 600g (the market is usually flooded) from it after using a spirit and roughly 200g worth of gems. The dragonling and toolbox all go for a 200-300 at best, while the gun costs a lot to make and is pretty weak and undesirable for all the effort. Anyone with archaeology can get a better gun from a couple days of mantid grinding. Meanwhile, other professions have bags, epic items, BOE weapons, etc. that they sell for thousands of gold. Everyone has the bike already.
While I understand the desire to *not* make the Carps cagable, I am not sure anyone thought of it quite this way... I have a friend who caught three of one Carp, but has none of another. Is it fair to make him go fish even more (he's at about 6k casts for it, I think) when he can trade one of his dupes for the color he needs? To add to this, some people who do not want pets fish, as I am sure you've noticed, and might want the added gold gain to their standard AH fishing farm. Also, yes, its obvious he didn't read the post well... or was trolling you all and did very well in doing so?I am happy to have low level proffs actually be able to do something in Panda lands, if only because in 5.3 they intend to bump up the 85-90 leveling exp gained for the duration of the event!
I think the mining change makes perfect sense especially when you consider the change that was made to blacksmithing. I wonder if we'll keep seeing more changes to profession leveling similar to the changes already in place. I'm thinking maybe alchemy or inscription because of the herbilism changes. Guess I'll just have to wait and see.
Great, now I'll never be able to farm mats in Pandaria unless I stay up until 4am. Thanks alot Blizz
with every new patch, game changes completly. they dont let you enjoy your char at least for 2-3 months. they buff in a patch, and nerf in next one after u spend many hours on getting your gear. they leave u with an awfull unenjoyable char.. they force u to gear up a buffed char, and next patch they nerf it. it s like a cycle. but it s really boring.. why cant u stabilize the game for at least 6 months? why did i spend honor points to upgrade items and spent hours on bg like idiots? i could have done different things if i knew upgrade will be removed! stop mixing this game so often.. u r really annoying. why did i dig dailies to get revered if u can make items buyable with friendly with new patch? why r u wasting my time? stop changing everything with every patch.. thats enough!
Well...crap. There goes MORE mining nodes that people are gonna hit, get crappy stuff from and loot and deny a fully levelled gatherer their already-rare materials that take effort......because they whined over and over won't make the effort to go back and level their gathering like everyone else.NOT THAT THE OLD ORES/HERBS AREN'T BEING CONSUMED. No sir. Not like there's people still levelling that need it or Scribes to mill for pigments. Nope. Not at all. This gathering change is pretty terrible and a bad idea. Now we're gonna have people swapping profs for whatever meta they're on and depriving the MoP players of their crafting materials further. Not like we already have to compete with one another as is for the ore and herbs as is.
Hopefully, people will shy away from this, just as they did with the Blacksmithing change. I've yet to find someone who wants to level up Blacksmithing with just Ghost Iron Ore. Probably no-one/not many who want to level Mining or Herbing just in Pandaria also.Cheers.
