I don't mind the spells being green but I'll be keeping my metamorphosis as it is. I love purple too much.Pretty cool though, wish all classes had quest chains like this.I agree :) I was sitting here thinking of what a mage equivalent might accomplish and am at an unfortunate loss. Maybe some quest chain that culminates in allowing the player to chose leather or plate transmog at no cost? Skills wouldn't really take advantage of it, but it would be a nice shoutout to players that have wanted "battlemages" for some time. I could see a druid one involving additional shapeshifting forms.
First they remove class specific quests (warlock pet quests, shaman totem quests etc.). Now they introduce them again. Surely Blizz knows well how to waste the precious time on insignificant and useless stuff...
First they remove class specific quests (warlock pet quests, shaman totem quests etc.). Now they introduce them again. Surely Blizz knows well how to waste the precious time on insignificant and useless stuff...The previous class quests were nothing but boring and souless grinds that didn't truly tested you as your class. They were terrible for the most part.Shaman: Hey want your totem? how about doing something shamanic to earn it? ahh screw it, we'll just give it to you after you travel 6 zones ON FOOT, and talk to random people for no reason.Warlock:Hey want this cool horse? sure its yours......... after you dunk a fortune on mats, and try your luck in this really hard run.For the pet? Succubus = Go kill these 2 men and loot their hearts, and boom, you're done. Voidwalker = kill this wraith, loot it, and boom, you're done.The old class quests were boring, unimaginative, and didn't truly tested you as a warlock, or shaman, or paladin, or whatever.The NEW class quests push your knowledge of your class to the limit. Casters doing the legendary quest and doing the Solo-nexus part, they really had to know how to play their class. Rogues on their legendary? they really had to know how to sneak around and use their class. Warlocks on the Black temple? yeah, they really need to know their stuff.The old class quests had only one challenge: Staying awake through the boring "kill X" quests, and hoarding a fortune worth of mats.The NEW class quests have many challenges: Gaining the drops required to start them (such as the gem clusters on the rogue quest, or the codex for the locks) and being good enough playing your class to overcome the fights and mechanics that will be thrown at you.This new warlock quest makes you feel more like a warlock than every single one of the old warlock quests put together (And they had plenty of quests, for the pets, for the mount, for that weapon, ect)
See green flames are nice but reminds me so much of expansions so long ago. Now that the Sha have been seen, I want Sha Touched Shadowbolt!I'd much prefer Sha colored flames!
Oh that's good. That's very good indeed. Particularly since green fire is a warlock's most famous feature.
Can't wait! I'm glad I leveled up my Warlock to lvl 90! Knew it wouldn't be a bad choice!This actually me of the old days getting your Pets and mounts.
I'm the person whose warlock prefers the normal-colored fire, honestly. :) But I still would love to do the quest chain and I'm happy to see that the colors can be changed back after!
Still don't know why one does need to change their spell color.. I personally don't see a point in here.. They really should "waste" their time for some other, usefull stuff, not for some quest chain what makes your spell color green..Go waste your time acquiring raid gear (or whatever it is you do).. it's gonna get vendored before my fire goes back to orange, leave us alone.---Gear comes and goes, vanity items last forever
Don't feed the trolls guys... should be a sign on every web page with a chat/comment feature...Huh? So being against warlocks just changing their spell colour to something different is troll? How about turning your logic on and thinking twice?Personally I don't give a $%^&. You want candy - you get candy. Some spells might indeed look better.But what really do you get? Either every warlock will get this $%^&, much like 50% of people will mog TBC weapons "because they want to". As much uniqueness as you currently have. Or it will be, like described above, obtained by a bunch of !@#$ing luckers, with rest being either limited by gold or competition. Another e-peen elitism.Some smartass here suggested that they want to be unique from namely mages and shadow priests. Oy, what a pity. /cry You are so depraved. Now why was your shadowbolt visual changed? Or druid's wrath? Why is lava burst not same as pyroblast? Because these spells belong to different classes.If anything, they could revamp your spells in general, add demonic flavor to every spell in particular. That would make you look more unique.No, they spent 3 patches to make a dully written lore questline and paint your spells green. Yay happy community. Profit.
Still don't know why one does need to change their spell color.. I personally don't see a point in here.. They really should "waste" their time for some other, usefull stuff, not for some quest chain what makes your spell color green..Somebody sounds jealous ~ ♪Personally, I'm thrilled they added this quest in. It's about time they gave warlocks green fire. I mean, we've only been asking for it since.. Vanilla? Maybe BC. Better late than never.
So for those wondering, it will be possible to toggle this option off after doing the quest; you aren't stuck with it forever.
Chillax. Breathe in.. breathe out. All us warlocks are happy right now, even if all of us (according to your statistics) are going to have green fire. It's something a lot of us wanted and now we finally get it. The whole backlash above was in response to someone saying the fact Blizzard spent time on a Warlock-only quest was a waste of time and Blizzard shouldn't have even bothered. That's like a huge slap in the face to all us warlocks that have been waiting FOREVER for Blizzard to do this for us. Of course there are going to be a bunch of new players who don't understand the importance behind this quest, but for those of us that do, it's really nice. Who knows. Blizzard might do another class specific quest before this xpac is up. If they did, I'm certain that class will be tickled pink. Most of our spells are demonic in flavor, when you think about it. Some of us control demons or sacrifice them for their abilities. We can even become demons. How much more demon do you want us to be? Shall we be a demon while were demon'ing it up so we can be more demon with even more demonic influence thrown in? If you have ideas for making warlock spells more demonic, why not toss it in a thread up on the warcraft forums?You speak of vanity in this game like it's a bad thing. Pshaw. Most wow players are pretty vain if you ask me, and that's not nessarily a bad thing. People do old dungeons more than ever to get gear that looked baddass 2-3 years ago for transmog purposes. And with transmog, you can create several different outfits from pieces of gear as well. Some sets are going to be more popular than others, but it's to be expected. Transmogging aside, we got vanity pets and various mounts you can collect as well. So yes, Warcraft players are vain little buggers -- and not just the warlocks. :}
This will be an amazing quest chain for warlocks! Much like the Bow that hunter's got way back in Vanilla. I hope that Blizzard puts more of these type quest chains into place.
Can't wait! :D
Just finished the quest. Not sure if it's bugged but the final battle with Kanrethad, I started taking down the pit lord after he summoned it and then he just stayed in one spot, never moved or casted anything. After taking the pit lord down, he still just stayed there motionless so I whittled him down. Completed and got my green fire.
Death by green fire!I don't know about other lock players out there but I'm so darn delighted that warlocks have a special quest chain back! I felt sad when their quest chains all got removed because, to me, completing a warlock quest chain was like a rite of passage for the class, mainly because when I started to play locks they had some great quest chains to complete, so it felt natural the class had them while others didn't (well not to the degree the locks had them.) Memories of Niby (& his chicken of death) still crack me up when I think about it and I hope this chain provides to be as entertaining. *squee*
Cool looking quest. I actually liked the old class quests for unique mounts (Lock, Pally, etc.), I felt it added to the flavour of the class. I was really excited to see how they were going to implement it. My excitement diminished somewhat when I was watching Lore's video and it dawned on me: I play affliction... have since late vanilla... Nothing (or nothing much, we will get Rain of Fire...) will change. I will likely do the quest chain anyways but would really appreciate it if there was some green (something) to the other one-third of Warlocks... No suggestions as of yet... (Malefic Grasp?)
So let me get this straight.Blizzard are adding a REQUIRED (no "but it now" option) long quest chain, mostly about the legion, which reuses and extends older areas and progresses the story simply for RPG purposes? Simply so you can go the whole "pestilence" lock route? ...... That's probably the most "faith in Blizzard" restoring thing I've heard in about 3 years :ONow give us back BS paths, repurpose some old stuff that's currently in the game but useless ie. druid books (read = +1 stat?) give us Lock and Paladin mount quests (more class quests in general). Add Archaeology quests to older dungeons like ZF and Blackrock and even to ZA and I'll buy a years subscription!
