I do find it an odd design choice to say "Thanks for helping us reach 8 years! Here's a reward that will only be useful for people who have been around less than 6 months!" It seems weird- to go to the trouble of putting anything in at all, but then design something specifically for an anniversary (which celebrates the game lasting 8 years, and implies it's a thanks to the players who made that happen) which is only useful to people who have not been involved for the vast majority of the games existence. It would have made more sense to just send a letter, or do an out of game acknowledgement, I think. I'm not complaining- it just seems to be a non-intuitive design choice.I guess if I wanted to level my bank alt, this would be the week?
Am i seeing this correct....the winners of the arena finals won $105k? in actual money! Is that where my monthly subscription is going?
Can the engineering goggles be upgraded? If so, do the cogwheels scale? As of the current Beta build, the goggles can be upgraded, but cogwheels do not scale with that. Bummer =/
Can we upgrade engineering goggles?I love them soo <3
Its still valuable if you're grinding non-quest rep for other factions besides the MoP ones. Its amazing for leveling too, like having an extra heirloom. My mid-60's shaman is hitting friendly with associated TBC factions after just one or two runs of each dungeon. I'm sure not everyone has 11 or more level 90 toons, none of which ever plan to and still need to get old content reputation achievements. It'll also save you some time if you're grinding Black Prince rep.I'll take something functional over some useless gimmick item any day, and I'd rather have this than yet another pet. My only complaint about it is the tabard doesn't match my transmog. :< /vanity.
@Foxpaw- the Mr. Popularity perk applies to monsters too. You get no bonus at all if your guild is level 6 or higher.
I find it both sad and hilarious that blizzard did not even bother to change the letter from last year, or the reward (which back then was nice due to tabards and/or reps that could be ground with kills) and... it seems the only rep this has an impact on from pandaria is knocking out the bug grind for the legendary start.not to mention it is a temporary prize compared to past rewards which were permanent account wide pets(back when pets were stuck per toon) I mean 8% is not going to break the bank(if it did stack) and the item does not even count towards your total tabards.
If you look at the very top page the table that shows how much upgrades will cost also has a "# of upgrade amounts" column.
I've been looking and haven't seen this addressed yet. Will MH/OH be 2 upgrades, where a two-handed weapon be 1 upgrade? If it takes 1500 CP to upgrade your MH/OH (for example), and 750 CP to upgrade your staff, this is a big difference.
I love the idea of upgrading your items, but to be honest, it seems REALLY expensive for justice and honor gear. Think about it. the time it takes to save 1500 JPs... that's about 10 heroic dungeon runs.. for 1 Upgrade? Valor and Conquest are ok I guess... unless you compare that the cap for conquest 2200 a week, but Valor is only 1k. So you can upgrade 3 conquest upgrades in a week, but only 1 valor?... hummmAnd why not make the honor upgrades also 750 HPs?. Every patch/season brings a whole new honor set with higher stats. Next season's dreadful will prolly have ilvl of 464 or something... so you'll still have to farm honor to have it all before you decide to upgrade it.My advice is to set all upgrades at 750 (HP, JP, CP or VP). You already have to put tons of time into dailies in order to now have to farm HP or JP. Also, why not make dailies give JPs after you are Valor capped?.And one last question... how is upgrading going to affect enchants/gems? I once read that it would erease everything from the item... kinda sucks for weapons with dancing steel or legendary gems...
Oh this is awesome. Thanks wowhead for the heads up. Cant wait! :D
Will we be able to preview/link/compare the upgrades on Wowhead?
they don't actually care. if you read the letter that came with the token, the same token we got last year btw, it's the same letter. they didn't even update it. Remeber when we got pets at years 4 and 5 and then for year 6 we got nothing. not even an achievement. they did give us a six the next year with a retroactive achievement when they gave us 7.

All part of why I no longer play. I'm torn over it as, I played for 6+ of those 8 years.... and have been to two Blizzcons.... but from my perspective, it became evident that we (players/fans) were slowly becoming just a "source of income" for Blizzard, vice being "customers"..... or really, fans.It really saddens me, but at the same time....... Blizzard, you guys brought it on yourself. They turned their backs on us first. Maybe, one of these days when they show that they "really care" again.... :(
The guy is standing next to the reforge guy to upgrade your armor.
As for the Celebration buff, I'd call that one bogus. I see that it says for kills but not dailies... first, 80% of all dailies DO have you killing things. Second, dailies are the only way to boost rep anyway... so essentially, this has NADA, ZERO to do with boosting rep. So just say that it is ONLY aimed at leveling players.Clearly, MANY players are a ton less than happy/satisfied with having to run dailies to gain rep, they must be livid hearing that some rep gain buff essentially does not really buff rep because it locks out dailies.Yeah, mama did tach me to not look a gift horse in the mouth... but this "Celebration" is no gift at all.It is nice for a toon you're leveling.
Is the upgrade system supposed to actually upgrade the ilvl, or just the stats? On Wowhead is upgrades the ilvl along with the stats, but this isn't happening in game. I upgraded my 496 gloves twice to 504 since I'll never see an actual heroic raid, but while the stats increased the ilvl remained at 496.Also, if we upgrade BoA stuff does it become soulbound? Like how if you apply most enchants to heirloom gear it binds it, afaik. I've got a few pieces of the archeology stuff I could see upgrading, but I don't want it to bind to a single character.
where do i got to spend honor to make the upgrade happen?
where do i got to spend honor to make the upgrade happen? It's not Honour, it's Valor points.
it just says in your city but where ? whats the new guys name?
