As far as i understand nothing will change, it is just a visual 'thing' of how rep is about now.Like atm i gain more rep in my alts, but still need to farm rep on them=(
So does this mean, if i only have 1 main character & i DON'T want to gain double the rep from Revered onwards (i personally don't like the idea of nerfed rep), can i just NOT buy the commendation and gain rep as per normal?
I am SO relieved about those faction rep changes. I really wasn't looking forward to the massive grind on my alts! But I'm actually impressed how they've done it, you still have to spend time to earn rep, just not as much after one character reaches revered. GJ Blizz! :D
"While the reputation grinds in Mists of Pandaria try some innovative things like removing reputation from tabards in dungeons" bullpucky. This isnt new. Innovative or even creative. This is the way it was originally. No dailies, no tabards. Just one long pain in the ass constant grind. You would have to do every quest in the newbie area. Then follow the quest line of whatever race you were trying to get rep with. Then they put in the cloth turn ins at the cities to get rep. Which still made a horrible grind for rep. In short what they really did was take out the ease of getting rep, and put BACK in the mindless, mind numbing, constant grind of doing the same quests over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. Thanks blizzard.
Yay for alt friendly mechanics! =D
Blizzard screwed up hard on their new "innovative" way to hide reputation with nearly all factions behind Level 90 dailies, despite the fact that previous expansions have shown how much people dislike having to do the same quests every day. They decided on removing any reputation gains from regular questing like how it was in all previous expansions, which got you anywhere between Friendly and Revered with the factions once you hit the level cap, and now that they've noticed how dumb it is they plan to destroy the reputation system, which is perfectly fine, in order to cover their tracks.Yes, reducing the cost of Revered > Exalted by half is destroying the system, as it also means they'll need to adjust the cost of the other ranks, or implement some other half-baked idea to prevent Revered > Exalted to be faster than Honored > Revered. Simply giving us reputation from quests while leveling would've prevented this whole situation, as people would've been half way done with the factions once they reached 90, instead of having to start at square one.As someone for whom reputation has always been a big part of the game, this is an absolute terrible addition, and the fact that it's added to mask Blizzard's enormous screw up makes it even worse.
It's too bad that I will be done with rep on my main when 5.1 comes out!:( But at least my alts take advantage of this!
So basically, with the tedious & painful task of finishing all the MoP faction reputation grinds on your main character; you get to do all your alternate characters in 1/2 the time with the purchase of these new commendations? In a nutshell . . . there isn't really a benefit. You still have to do rep grinds but in less time.Pretty much we were all told to STHU and keep doing your daily rep grinds. With that said; back to my Spinefish Alpha grinds so I can finally finish Nat Pagle rep grind.
Best thing to happen, rep grinding is boring but you have to do it because of gear and recipes.
Quick question for anyone who might know the answer. Will these coins/tokens effect rep gained by all current means (normal quests, ext), or just the daily quests?
Considering everything they are making Account wide, you'd think it wouldn't exactly be a bad thing to make Reputations account-wide, or at least server-wide, as well. Unless someone can think of a reason why they shouldn't do that.
Regarding the Dailies change: I still cant find a reason why I should keep doing em at all... It's just boring, and mostly like a new Korean farm game.Even with the 100% boost ( whic I dont know if you can use yourself for your main) It still a long way untill exalted, or better Exhausted!
So looking forward to the rep commendations. I have been really dragging my feet on getting rep up with my second 90 for the serpent flying. x-x
I personally am fine with long rep grinds if the reputations had stayed similiar to how they were pre MoP... but yeah, with the tying of Valor rewards to reputations that can only be ground out through dailies... They killed my enjoyment of completing dailiesif valors had 'valor vendors' without rep attached, they could leave the current reps alone and just have people farm out those mounts/titles Weapon moggs(klaxxi gear that you obtain with rep is worthless other than mogg lol)
