A kite ... that works as a ground mount. >_<I guess since we can have flying horses in Magicland, who cares about things that make sense.
Sheesh, what's wrong with people. There are two kites, which are unique. As somebody said - the only equivalent is a tailor's carpet. But it's first of all - TAILOR's carpet, we aren't all a bunch of tailors, are we? Secondly, this thing looks twice better than the carpet, even if it doesn't swirl.Sure, it's not as cool as a serpent, much less - phoenix. But if phoenix is challenge of dedicated dungeon running and serpents are far and wide from naked ones to dressed in thunder and sparkles, then a kite is a fine themed national mount, just like wyverns. For the love of it - 50mount reward. A white drake. How many drakes were there? Yellow, red, blue, white, black, purple, azure(I'm sure I missed some, and did not included buck drakes). Did people complain? 100 mount reward? Now that is what I personally am not ever going to use. Ugly as hell dragonhawk. Sure, cool, dragonhawk. Yellow like a piss.So if drake was just a reskin, while dragonhawk was an ugly but rare mount(I think only 3-4 of such skeletons exist, only two normally acquirable), then this is a fairly unique and fine coloured mount. All possible facts prove that this mount has more good than bad, so if your personal taste is below any criticism - why spit it on the item? Don't like it against all odds? FINE. SUIT YOURSELF.Don't bring 150 mounts achievement here. Don't bring reskins. Don't bring your taste of how ugly it looks.P.S.: Yes, I said about 100 mounts what I asked not to say about 150, and I would probably say the same when 100 mounts was a trial to get.
200 mounts achievement needs to be a Naboo Starfighter, that is all.
I was excited to hear about a 150 mount reward... then thoroughly disappointed by nothing new. :(
Great, the 150 achievo mount is a snot rocket.
i kept my whinning an crying to the current expansion. the kite is cool but it does take some degree of dedication to get to 150 mounts. i just dont think in my opinion that a kite is suiting to my desires of awesomeness.>_> elegon mount for 150? or 200 although it is a cloud serpent it would be an awesome one.heck even twist things up a bit. 150 mounts reward doesnt HAVE to be a flyer. why not some ludicrous land only mount? a slug/snail or ummm soap box car...just idea's heck blizzard loves there dragons an as do i. why not use a hydra? the model is there already. as for flying..there are no enlarged parrots...theirs no udercity bat....which i would love. an why do they not use mechanical idea? its not like engineers are the only ones with mechanical mounts now(a gnomes).
Is it just me, or does the blue guy sound kinda like a jerk?"By this definition, I should be able to walk up to Lionel Messi, Kobe Bryant, Sebastian Vettel, Roger Federer... (you get the idea, I guess) and tell them I'm being super competitive in their respective sports because I'm competing in a local league putting a fraction of the time they are. The thing is, when looking at the grand scheme, I'm not. Not even close. There's a reason why the world first quality guilds usually get world firsts, and it's not just skill, there's also commitment, coordination and a myriad of factors."Really? World first quality guilds.....its just a matter of how much time people can devote to the game, not necessarily skill level. Why talk to someone who pays money every month for your game like they are an idiot because they feel like realm first isn't an accurate way to measure skill level...isn't that why blizzard included challenge modes? Because they wanted to give someone else a chance even if they didn't have the time to get crazy geared? I really think its sad that they consider some players to be more important than others...I would argue that just because someone doesn't play a sport competitively doesn't mean that they have less worth as a person. In terms of music these days, there are plenty of famous "artists" who sell millions but cant sing as well as some little old lady in a church choir.
I recently got the 100 mount achievement, just in time for shared mounts, so I've been happily showing off my dragonhawk on all my characters... Have to say I'm underwhelmed by the kite mount. As Flight Path mounts, with the backdrop of Pandaria, they look fantastic, but as a player controlled mount they just look... Ridiculous, I can't even explain why.As to rep gain and gearing, it has slightly thrown me off, I'm not a raider, in fact I love LFR because it's the perfect point for me, more challenging and better gear then HC dungeons but still not a 'full on raid', as a guildie put it the other night. I'm more into leveling various characters, and currently have 9 of the 11 classes at at 86+, including 3 90s, (Not impressive I know, but I don't have huge amounts of time to play). With this mix I tried, at the end of Cataclysm, to keep my maxed characters geared for LFR, as much as possible they were geared with full LFR standard. This longer process for gearing leaves me wondering if I'll manage that in this expansion... I'm sure I could with time, but I can only play while it's fun. I know I'm a minority in this, but it still bugs me.
Honestly I cannot help but be a little excited for the patch to drop and get my new mount. I've had 150 mounts for quite a while and just having another reward is nice instead of just building on it for no real reason.
I had been worked hard to get my 169 mount that I got. This mount (for 150 mounts achievement) That's not what I expected. I think blizz should work a bit to bring us new model and leave alone the reskinning....
What I especially dislike is how only a couple quests (out of the 8 - 12 or so you do for each faction) give more than 150 rep. 10 quests for faction X nets maybe 1800 rep. Yea, I know, it's supposed to be a grind and all, but doing it on multiple toons? C'mon now. I only have 3 level 90's. I can't imagine those that have more than that. How's about fewer dailies, but more rep? THEN I'll be more inclined to do ALL the rep dailies on all my toons, as opposed to focusing on one, and getting tired of grinding dailies between raid lockouts. It's getting to the point that, on some days, there is nothing to do. LFR didn't drop anything for me, I've all the gear I need from the roics, minus one or two particular pieces, but I can't buy anything on toon numbers 2 or 3 because I don't have the rep. And the really good piece I need for toon number one STILL REQUIRES REP THAT I DON'T HAVE.
Seriously? You're mad they're putting the models they create to too good of use? Why WOULDN'T they use and reuse popular models? Yes, this particular mount is rather disappointing. Frankly, I'd prefer something other then a kite. (It's just not to my taste) But the idea we should turn our noses up at reskins is silly. Obviously, new models are great, but one does not exclude the other. AND we get much more variety if they do both: 5 models x 5 reskins = 25 mount choices. 8 models x 2 skins = 16 mount choices.
Meh, it's a mount so I will go for it. Though, I rather have something a bit cooler. :(
