CRZ in its current state is a joke. Too much bad behaviour , lack of nodes/rare spawns, and many MANY other issues. The fix? Make it optional, in a menu. A simple toggle on/off. Would improve the state of it by so much.
I'm disappointed that there's still no word on the update of the fishing tournaments.
Seriously facepalming here. Someone high up must've either convinced everyone CRZ is good, or is forcing everyone go along with it, because it continues to be one of the most annoying and counter-intuitive features i've ever encountered in the game.
Just because a minority of players complain loudly about their personal issues with CRZ does not mean CRZ is a failure. It's a new feature, and most people don't seem to have any serious problems with it.As the blue post states, Blizzard plans to refine CRZ further. Relax.
I for one have enjoyed it thus far, the only issue I had has already been fixed. CRZ will need time to work out the kinks that some are annoyed with but other than that I find it to be a novel idea and I look forward to seeing it develop.
I think the "Hope it drops" quests will kill this as being any fun. With 2 to 3 other players in one area, there are not enough gators alive to give me enough eyeballs to finish the quest and I think I have to kill 10 or more to get the 5 I need. Imagine 3X the number of folks fighting over the drops?
OK, I'm done. Leveling was the game for me. No, you can't have my stuff, it's all going into storage for a time maybe when they fix the game.My AP is up, so I'm free. No big long goodbye from me, and I just got banned from the main forums.CYA.Cheers.
I see people saying they enjoy CRZ. What parts? Why?The world doesn't really seem all that much more populated, to be honest. There's just enough of an increase to where I stumble upon a dead quest target or have to wait for clickables to respawn more often than before, but not nearly enough to make me feel like the world is more "alive".I understand it's not a horrible idea, and for largely-populated servers it may even seem like a godsend. I chose a lower population server for the exact reason that it was a "quieter" mmo experience, for lack of a better word. Less people, less competition, less city lag, less trade chat anal, you get the idea. Imagine a server as your home, your house. CRZ for me has been as if my house has been relocated to dormitory housing. More traffic through the halls, people raiding my refrigerator for food/drinks (quest mobs / cogwheel items), even some property damage (zone-to-zone lag, removal of the fishing competitions, etc). The feature is unwanted and it feels clunky & invasive. I no longer feel welcome in my own home.
From experience in leveling a monk from 1-90 the CRZ really slowed me down and actually changed my mind about how leveling as fun and easy. Its mostly now just long and annoying. It took me twice as long as it normally would to level because of the 2 main zones that pissed me off, Blasted Lands and Hellfire. You are minding your own business when suddenly a level 85-90 player shows up and says hey! you're a panda! Ima kill you and camp your body for the next hour or 2. I don't get why they are still trying to "fine tune" this when it should just be just thrown away. I joined a low populated server for a reason. Faster leveling and node farming. With this everything is just not fun anymore.
I have been corpse-camped many times and long before the implementation of CRZ. I'm fairly certain everyone on a PvP server has been camped at some point. I have no idea why people would spend so much time killing players so much weaker than them. It's bullying. But, like Adamsm said, this ugly fact of human nature has nothing to do with CRZ.
To the above: That's still not completely the fault of CRZ, that's still just PVP realms. I leveled on one in Vanilla....and I remember avoiding entire zones, no matter how much I wanted to quest in them, because I had no desire to be camped every 10 minutes or so.
For a different perspective on CRZ.It is kind of fun you see more people. The world feels alive. Even if they just fly by. Stand near an NPC or whatever. My server has become more vacant and this brings back so much fun. If you have a nicely populated server you might not realize but on low pop the entire world is empty, everything is up (spawns, nodes) and you never see anyone while questing. For certain group quests it has made it easier to group. Overall for regular questing there isn't much of a problem since any small quest place can support multiple players. Also because a CRZ scales, I feel that just having people in the other side of the zone can turbo charge the spawnrates for your place. Things like near instant spawns on your mobs can be very beneficial. What I don't like is primarily the technical issue. I have a beast computer yet it freezes for 1-2 seconds while going into a new zone. It's so annoying even though they will fix it soon enough. At first I thought only via party system can other people come to my realm, never will I go to someone elses. But that can't be true. I do get forced into a common shared zone, one which pretty much becomes realmless (because you can never tell which realm that zone belongs to)Other thing is for hunting rare spawns in particular. I'm leveling a hunter and learned about spirit beasts. So I go to the place arcturis is and there are 3 people camping it. Logging in a few times later there is always at least one person. None of them are from my realm so wtf. Without CRZ he probably would have been there because it's easy to get, people before me will have gotten it, nobody is hunting it and it makes it easy for me to get it too. The thing is im used to being on low pop. I have learned to cope with the disadvantages which makes it hard to deal when they then take an advantage away. Was gonna say the in regards to the PVP comment. Yes there are more people and yes that makes it more likely you will get killed if you are on a PVP server, however that is what you choose. And the idea is that a zone shouldn't be empty, in the past they weren't.I'm on a PVE server and I never see people tagged for PVP from other realms so PVE shares zones with PVE and so on.
