An awesome additional feature could be to link this to the profiler, and only show missing pets on that map :3
Nope, it's active right now, but you don't need Mists. I'm playing and capturing pets but haven't installed the expansion yet. Speaking of, I should REALLY go to bed now... :PEdit: This post was in response to someone asking if you needed Mists for pet battles. It was two in the morning when I posted this, so I guess I should be glad that I was typing coherently at all. >_<
While you can take part in pet battles without the MOP Expansion, you cannot do the quest chain which seems to be MOP-locked.
after about 4 straight hours of pet battles, I gotta say they're really something. Very fun and entertaining. Though some pets are quite USELESS.But my Onyxian Whelpling is an absolute terror on the battlefield.
I know we can go buy a Raven now, as a Gilnean pet. To the goblins get an equivalent?
i wasnt able to stay up for launch last night due to work today. but i did wake up super early and check out the pet battles before i left. so stoked. got my 3 pets to level 5 in around an hour, and cant wait to go home and play some more. so stoked that WoWhead has this database now. all there databases are always so helpful. thanks guys =D
While the map is EXTREMELY helpful, it's missing something I think is important - an easy-to-read list of all the pets available in that zone. Some of them are rare, that only appear in certain conditions, and it's impossible to find them in a map full of hundreds of icons, let alone know which zone the rares spawn in.
excellent contributionthe map is great and it becomes a very useful tool, it would be nice to also have one for professions like mining, herbalism, skinning .....I hope to see you soon as addon
According to latest hotfixes, no.. you do not need MoP to use battle pets.Pet BattlesBattle pet quests are no longer flagged for Mists of Pandaria only, and can be accepted by players who have not yet upgraded.
Still a few things that could be added. I think I saw someone post about adding that some pets only appear in specific areas or times... like the Cheetah Cub on the southern side of Crossroads. The names of pets would be great to see them on the map itself. I wasn't all bonkers for this when I heard about it... but then went and trained in it and completely stopped trying to level my toon and instead started leveling battle pets. I would love to see a list that shows which pets are strong/weak against what types on a chart type.. I think you can filter it on the pet search screen though. All in all... great job wowhead folks... you continue to make this game just that much more fun and interesting for me :)
The map is great, but can you add the levels the wild pets are in each zone? Trying to determine where to go next to level up my pets and while it shows hp and all, a quick level number would be great. Thanks for adding a great tool
While the map is pretty cool, there are two things which annoyed me already in the first minute i took a look at it.1] I miss a button to go back to the greater zone map. Like going from Durotar back to Kalimdor map.2] The advertising-block and the 'Filter by Type'-block is kinda blocking the view on the right side of the maps. This occurs even more on lower resolutions screens, meaning the higher the resolution, the less problem you have with this.I suggest to change it into two columns, where the map is on the right and the advertising-block and the 'Filter by Type'-block is in the right column
