Seamless release? Yes, please.
What will be the initial quest for Alliiance?
It won't be seemless. They've been doing this for 9 years and there's ALWAYS launch day problems. So much so that people will scream in the comments or on the Blizzard forums about people complaining that they can't play the game they paid for. If Blizzard would launch it earlier, on NYC time, instead of waiting, they could identify early issues sooner and people wouldn't be complaining so much. It would be so much easier, but they refuse, and it's annoying.
Midnight release? Realms up at 12am PDT? 3 hours to get it and get home? @#$% yeah.
ooh i hope it goes as smooth as they plan too, but i probally skip the intial rush so i can sleep and then at 7-8 am im gonna start with leveling things shouldnt be as crowded then :D
yeah pretty much as when world events happen. brewfest starts at 00:01 and you can queue for it directly without a server reset or relog.
I understand that WoW and Battle.net are hugely technical server farms with thousands of component pieces and immense mountains of data. I realize that making these changes is a huge feat for any company, and I recognize that in the past Blizzard has done all it can to keep servers up, and fix them asap when something does go wrong.Having said that. " If everything goes as planned this will be a smooth transition to the adventures that await you in the new continent."That is one huge IF.
To be fair, I don't remember very many problems for Cata's release. I know there were issues for a few others, but I recall a near seemless transistion (at least compared to LK and BC).
This makes a lot of sense, and I love it. They must have tested this new little bit of tech with the seamless updates with the Theramore scenario. I was online watching my Scenario Que unlock in real time without being through rolling realm restarts. Though part of this almost feels like 'On-disc DLC'. But that's delving too far into it. I'm super excited for Monday night at 11:59pm! :D
Seamless release eh?If this actually happens then I will personally buy 1 of every product from the Blizz store. Good job it won't happen because I am short on cash this month.
I played every expansion at midnight and don´t recall any issues except for major lag in hellfire.I think this seems very easy to implement live (just giving us the quest to get thing started).. but there are a few other issues that seem strange. Experience bar and professions to name a few.One thing for sure, this will cut down a lot of jamming the login servers..
Spare yourselves the pain and mental anguish and just pretend MoP launches at midnight on the 26th.
Not to be a debbie downer but WoW has not been know for releases being seamless....lol. It'll be great if it does happen and I will eat a bit of humble pie if all does go well.....but I won't be holding my breath...lol.
Yeah I played extensively on the launch of Cata and WoTLK for that matter and I don't recall running into a single issue on either of those days. Now when there's major content patches you can count on a day or two of fail, but I look forward to a pretty well executed launch.
Nice-a 5pm launch for us eastern Australians .cant wait , didnt have any problems with Cata on launch day that wasnt expected ( eg lots of people around quest givers and profession/class trainers etc )
