Honestly, it takes longer to read this review of the event then to actually do it.Scenarios are short, which is refreshing. The queue time, though is long. I have been in the queue for 53 minutes. Fortunately, the first time I did it today, I did it in a group from my realm, so we got in pretty quick.I do have one complaint. I'm a hunter, so getting 90027 was like getting stabbed in the back. I'm assuming you get gear according to your class and spec now, so I should have either gotten 90022 or 90029.Edit: Argh, item links. Anyway, I got the pole arm, but should get the agility mail helm or gun.I don't see anything really refreshing about these short runs. The average dungeon will last about 23 minutes. Besides the length, Theramore reminded me of a bad version of the Black Morass or Violet Hold. But the bosses there, at least, have some feeling. I can repeat these dungeons again and again (Twilight dungeons..), but I can't bring myself to this one a fourth time, even though it takes half the time to complete.Maybe we'll see better scenarios, but if this is the pinnacle of it, I certainly won't be earning my VP this way.
I am glad Jaina finally got over Arthas.
I am glad Jaina finally got over Arthas.Well it had to happen sooner or later. I mean she did had about an expansion to do so.
I am glad Jaina finally got over Arthas.Yeah....now she gets to ruin another character; Kalec is next on the chopping block apparently since every other male who has had a crush on her dies.
Interesting lore, but snooze on the gameplay and cinematic. I don't mean to diminish the effort it took, but considering the magnitude of the game changes, I was expecting something a little more spectacular. Keep up the excellent work and I'm looking forward to rolling fuzzy.
So, I noticed quite a few typos in the interview with Christie Golden. I don't know if they are just typos, or if they were purposely typed that by whomever. But, yeah, just wanted to let you know. I haven't done it yet, but I am REALLY looking forward to this scenario. I don't know if it will be able to match up to the book though. =PTrust me, it doesn't. I read Tides of War and loved every page of it, especially how it included shout-outs to the players. Christie Golden did a FANTASTIC job with Tides of War......and Blizz promptly threw her work out the window. There are specific instances where Golden mentions the players in her book. I don't know about the horde side, but the alliance side doesn't match at all. In the book, we're there, fighting alonside the combined forces of the alliance. We push the horde out of theramore, and manage to escape just before the bomb wipes out everything. In game, we don't get there until after the bomb drops, and are basically left to clean up the stragglers. Golden set them up perfectly and Blizz went and gone **** it up.I tend to create fanfiction for my Characters in the game, the events surrounding the universe from their point of view. I had already decided my Horde shaman and Alliance Warrior were to be there, I had actually set it up already, but with us entering after the bomb falls .. yea its pretty... its not as it should be. I was also kind of sad about the fact that it doesn't look like a war, like before we enter, afterwards. I'm thinking Alliance and Horde Npcs fighting each other, and perhaps Horde sitting outside of theramore. We could have gotten a glimpse of garrosh and the rest of the Horde celebrating. Anyways, I just thought I'd explain it in a way where my warrior were at the harbor when he saw the bomb come in, jumps in the water, but the blast from the bomb still launches him way further out towards the sea, where he gets picked up by the Lady Mehley (boat u come in on) and see the devastation which Garrosh has unleashed upon the town. The book was amazing, and I like the scenario. I'm just so sure that Blizzard could have done it better. At least in an aesthetic wayEdit: To the guy below me, Dragons usually mate in their humanoid forms, as it is much easier. Therefore I can't imagine Kalec destroying Jaina anytime soon.
Personally hate the pairing. Not because they don't logically fit together personality and hobby-wise, but because they both seem like independent people that would be more suited as lifelong friends, not in a binding marriage that will obviously make them romantically dependent, which neither has previously inferred to want with each other. So it feels very forced. On another side, the author is very naive about cross-race/species relationships. We are talking about a huge dragon mating with a human. What possible sexual interest would he and she have with each other? And the argument "love knows no barrier". Actually yes it does, otherwise we'd all be mating with our parents, same-sex friends, the elderly, the super young, the below-poverty poor, other non-sexually oriented persons, and our dog too. There is a very real reason for pairings to be made in the first place, that differs from the reasons for wanting deep friendship or intimacy, which can be gained without marriage/mating.When someone is vastly different in anyway, there are very serious second thoughts. For example, she'll die within what dragons consider to be a few moments of their life. And what of their super-vastly different culture. There is a reason for real life culture shock. I'm not saying its not possible, but its very unlikely, especially considering the world they live in, where there are still kings and war-chiefs running things.
This article really, REALLY needs an educated human to go through it and do some copy-editing.I'm not sure where the thing about Jaina turning to 'companions' for help comes from - I listened to the audiobook, and when she retrieves the focusing iris, she just teleported in mere minutes after the bombing and she was alone. Not that I minded helping her with my dwarf warrior - he's happy to help Lady Jaina.
this just looks like another one of blizzards extremely boring dungeons glad i have quit and uninstalled this game
Where can I get the book for one. Two, the story and scenario were good. But idiot trolls will troll. Love the idea of Jaina with Kalec!
were will the mage portal Portal: Theramore go now if Theramore is getting destroyed? I hope not the same place it wont be used for anything after this will it?
this just looks like another one of blizzards extremely boring dungeons glad i have quit and uninstalled this gameThan why are you here?
were will the mage portal Portal: Theramore go now if Theramore is getting destroyed? I hope not the same place it wont be used for anything after this will it?I have a feeling they'll change the end location very slightly if it hasn't already been (lol Horde player here), such as to a spot near Theramore. I find portals are more about the location they go to. In addition, the town will be phased, meaning for some people it won't be "destroyed" even though that may cause a continuity error.
Jaina begins a relationship with...with...with KALECGOS?This would certainly upset Thrall, and make Arthas rolling in his graves...
I ran it on two of my toons and it was extremely boring. I dont see myself ever running it again. I dont understand how the queue could be so long when no tanks or heals are needed. I waited almost 30 minutes and this was on day of release. These things will be totally empty later on. It would have been nice if the weapons looked halfway cool to at least use for transmog, but I saw that 2hd axe and have seen better looking white weapons.
Edit: To the guy below me, Dragons usually mate in their humanoid forms, as it is much easier. Therefore I can't imagine Kalec destroying Jaina anytime soon.Suspect fanon.Citation needed.
I actually thought it was a fun little experience. I had two different experiences on two different chars, and let me tell you about them.1. Queued solo. Got in a group. The other two went rushing off, I didn't know what to do. I asked them to slow down. They said no. Caught up to them near the end and watched the cinematic.2. Later, when enough geared Guild members were on. Queued with two guildies. We took our time on each of the objectives and had a fun time running through it. We got to experience the whole thing and it was a good run.Tip - run with Guildies.BTW: Have only done it on Horde chars. Looking forward to doing it Alliance ones.Cheers.
All the build up and promises of angry Jaina, and epic phat loots....And all I got was some crummy Horde Firework ...Three runs in a row, 3 hours of queue time; I don't know about you but I've better things to do with my time in wow.The only thing epic about the scenario was the letdown, so thanks for that Blizz.
Honestly, it takes longer to read this review of the event then to actually do it.xD
Lazy, boring, dissapointing.. wow a new milestone for blizzard!Theramore fall is a deceit.
