Now, that is badas* looking, all we need now is that Green Fire that blizz refuses to implement! :D
Brb, keep leveling my lock <3
@Gorunn Do you not use Fel Flame? Is Demonic Gateway supposed to replace Ritual of Summoning or Demonic Circle: Summon/Demonic Circle: Teleport or neither?
@Gorunn Do you not use Fel Flame? Is Demonic Gateway supposed to replace Ritual of Summoning or Demonic Circle: Summon/Demonic Circle: Teleport or neither?Neither. It adds a teleportation method that the entire party/raid can use. However, it can only hold 5 charges max and it rebuilds those charges over time. So for your personal use, Demonic Circle is still good and a "home" point. Whereas the Demonic Gateway requires you circle target (like Rain of Fire) an exit and where you're standing becomes the entrance and anyone in your group can use it. It does have some ramp up time to set up and build charges, though :(As for Fel Flame, that's really not a usable spell, no. I never use it unless I have ABSOLUTELY nothing better to do. It is last on all priorities. When moving and inefficient to refresh instant cast DoTs I *might* use Fel Flame. But even then it's only 1 or 2 tops and my understanding, though I never bothered to use it in Beta myself, its mana cost has JUMPED to unusable levels.Besides, one separating factor from Destruction Warlocks (and Demonology who do use Immolate and Soul Fire, I suppose) and mages of other ilk absolutely should be green fire. Warlocks are using Fel magics. Period. Fel fire is always green. Immolate, Soul Fire, Incinerate are all being cast by demonic powers being channeled by the Warlock. It makes 0 sense, from a lore stand-point, to be any color other than green.
@PayneAS:No, there was a large poll sometime back, in far early beta, ppl wanted complete recolor of all flame spells that locks use, from classic flames to green. Blizz denied that, they said it is to much work and they might consider doing it sometime in future.(Note: its maybe-maybe, consider in future)I was personally trilled with success of that poll, but they said that there is a lot of changes going on and its to much work to do, assigning people to it and thus reducing team that was working on development.I for once, totally agree with edarien. We use fell magic, were only class that is tapping in to fell energy to fuel our spells and we should have green flames (as it was most noticeable color in BC environment .Demonic Gateway function like Demonic Circle: Teleport but its usable by anyone, and no, it doesnt replace neither of them. You can learn it on level 87 and all spec's will get it.
Nice idea wowhead to get all important for classes in MoP in one article.(P.S i hope warrior will be soon).
I got a lot of questions regarding locks, and I'm hopeful someone who's played one extensively in the beta can shed some light on this. (Cough*adamsm this is your cue *cough)First off, once you are in metamorphosis form, is there a way to continue to generate demonic fury? as long as there's enemies to kill is there a way to STAY in metamorphosis permanently?Secondly, is Dark Apotheosis still permanent? last time I checked, even if your demonic fury gets low, Dark Apotheosis still persists. Is this still so?Third: How effective is the glyph of the triple-shadow bolt? I've heard some rumors that it cripples your damage. Is this so? or is this glyph safe to use without hurting your DPS (I ask because it looks really cool, but I wont use it if it means doing less damage)Fourth: The new Wording of soul-link is a little concerning. Did I read it wrong, or does it actually means that if my demon is attacked I'll get 50% of the damage? because I don't really like that. Its already bad enough that the demon loses 50% HP; but if the "share damage" thingie works both ways (If I'm hit 50% of the damage is transfered to the demon = Ok. If the demon is hit, 50% of the damage is transfered to me = Not ok) then I'm skipping this talent.Thats all I got fo now.
As a Mage, I'm really jealous of these Warlock sets. The Tier set is arguably one of the worst we've gotten, and the Challenge Mode set will look alright on certain races (ie: gnome, but not my worgen). The PVP set looks decent though. Personally I'm just going to stick to Mage and Lock T3 from the BMAH for awhile.
Haven't tested enough Lock changes to tell Rank. Also; gonna be torn in MoP between this class and a Monk heh.
The Sha-skin sets are absolutely gorgeous.I hope the warlock changes will make me dust off my 'lock and get at least the full LFR set, as I really want it.
Oh Jesus christ monkey balls! Demonology looks incredible.
@ rankkorr:I can reply you on few questions, i didnt played so much since im keeping away from beta as much as i can cause i want to have "fresh" experience when it hits live.First: Yea, there is few spell that can help you regenerate Demonic Fury, but the ratio is always like this spending>generating. You cant actually generate enough DF to stay long in demon form, at least not crippling your DPS. But you can fast get in the form again, even faster using Glyph of Imp Swarm and Grimoire of Supremacy with combo from your passive's . Its designed that Demon Form would be hard bursting time.Second: Yea its perma as long as you stay in that "form/stance." The thing is that when you set that glyph as active (put it in your active glyphs) you get another "form." Activation of it costs 100 demonic fury and its active until you go in Demon Form or recast it again, which will cancel it. This is the form that you will get Dark Apotheosis and take note on taunt effect.Third: Nope, Glyph of Shadow Bolt doesnt affect your damage at all, its simply cosmetic change. Note that its a Minor Glyph and as such, as with all other classes, its just cosmetic or its giving you NON DPS change to your abillity. So, all of minor glyphs does not affect your DPS at all.Forth: Yup, it works as you said, 50% of damage, received by your demon or you is shared between you two. Personally i would go for one of other two. Note: The thing is that you must not forget that now its far easier to change your talents than in 4.3 since all you need is a reagent that cost around 2g to reset ONE talent in your tree. Cause of that, lots of them are situational talents, so you can easily swap between them.
Omg challenge set makes me want to be a warlock!
So, looking at ... how will that work with Demo locks using ? It's transformed into . Kinda useless to be able to absorb all schools of magic, when it already absorbs all schools of damage. For , note that both damage AND healing is shared. I don't agree with the 50% health cut though... I think the fact that it replaces HF is punishment enough.Other than that, I was kinda hoping the normal and heroic PvE colors were reversed.
ooo thank you sooo much <33333333
The challenge mode set looks amazing.
Finally a good 'lock set again... though it will probably look ugly on trolls :(Is Afflic still kind of the main PvE spec dps wise or not?
you are not prepared!
]Besides, one separating factor from Destruction Warlocks (and Demonology who do use Immolate and Soul Fire, I suppose) and mages of other ilk absolutely should be green fire. Warlocks are using Fel magics. Period. Fel fire is always green. Immolate, Soul Fire, Incinerate are all being cast by demonic powers being channeled by the Warlock. It makes 0 sense, from a lore stand-point, to be any color other than green. There is a difference in Warcraft lore between Fel and Demonic magic. There isn't that much indication that the Demonology class we play uses that much Fel magic.
All I have to say is that based on 5 dps specs I have played on beta.. Affliction locks are the easiest BY FAR to level. That whole improved soul-swap things makes leveling so easy. I was using the grimoired Imp and things were just dying so fast.
