Very nice of Blizzard for once.
This seems like a great idea, except having to deal with all the people in trade chat saying, "Y i cant make a kung fu panda?"
Yes, they will be bumping it up, I think it will be 11, I am not so sure :)
And to unlock the level caps, zones, quests, profession caps, mounts, etc.
WHAT! THAT IS 100% STUPID! One of the points of the expansion was to play classes/races that other people where not able to do if they did not have the xpac. LAME MOVE BLIZZ. Now that is another reason to quit. And yet....you still can't make a monk, can't go to Pandaria, and can't do a large number of other things that only comes from upgrading to Mists. But seriously, quit anyways if you are taking things like it's a personal attack.
SO basically, you are paying for the expansion to get a class at this point? No, you're paying for the level cap, the class, the raids and the dungeons as well as the new zones (Pandaria in this case) and content.I honestly don't mind this since it's really good for RPers who don't have the money to buy expansions but want to play and RP the race from the expansion. And due to it just being the race, nothing more, it's not really a big point of it.
This is Blizz's best idea in..... well ever. You get all the stuff people want I.e. pandas) and you dont have to pay $60 to get themhonestly i don't care about monks seeing as it would just be another DPS class for me, and i see the tanking spec going the way of elemental shamans, unless they do something along the lines of only letting the Brewmasters using plate through some contrivance i would actually be okay with that. but the problem still persists that the healing classes will be compeating for gear with Resto druids and teh DPS class is compeating with rouges and Feral druids (and if they do allow another leather tanking class then its gonna be Brew masters vs Gaurdian druids) in all good move and i cant wait till the 28th of september to make my panda
The Brewmaster tanking spec is pure awesome.
is this going to be available in PTR ?
is this going to be available in PTR ?No.
SO basically, you are paying for the expansion to get a class at this point? And 85-90, and endgame content, and new zones, etc...
Amazing news, however I'm a little sorry for people that create a character that way. I remember that feeling when I got Cataclysm: I finally have the opportunity to play the freaking Worgen! etc. Too bad they won't be able to feel that way :D
I think there are probably 2 reasons for this:1) It makes it easier for people to buy the game as they go, rather than have to lay out money for all the expansions up front. Many people pick a main and stick with it, and letting them make the character they want off the bat, and then making them buy the expansions as they level is probably more of a hook than letting them pick only vanilla races, and then make them choose between their main, and re-rolling to a race they want when they upgrade. 2) They probably found that things like Worgen, Pandarians and Blood Elves appeal to demographics that the vanilla races (or the vanilla races for that faction) don't. Some people will be more likely to roll Horde with their friends if their toon can be pretty. Some people are really into werewolves. I think it makes sense to try to appeal to them. The vast majority of the content in an expansion is in the quests and zones for the new level cap, and the new dungeons, raids, PvP bracket, etc. The races and classes are nice, but they don't "make" the expansion. I don't mind one way or the other- I'm never going to change my main, and so it doesn't do anything for me. But from a business standpoint, I think it makes sense, because the more expansions they add, the harder/less attractive it will be for new players to buy into all the games at once.
Any mention of updated character models?
Any mention of updated character models?Same answer as it's always been: Soon TM.
What about the 'trial' (free) edition? Can we make worgen/goblins/pandas in that?
What about the 'trial' (free) edition? Can we make worgen/goblins/pandas in that?We won't know till next Tuesday, but the out look is looking positive.
The question is how will a new player be able to play pandaren from start if he has no acces to the new continent ? Will be enabled a forced spawn in Stormwind or what ?
The question is how will a new player be able to play pandaren from start if he has no acces to the new continent ? Will be enabled a forced spawn in Stormwind or what ?I think I read somewhere that the Pandaren starting zone is instanced and not attached to the new continent.
It is instanced and until you take the balloon ride to Stormwind/Orgrimmar, you are stuck there: Same as taking the boat out of the Worgen starting area or the boat from the Lost Isles for the Goblins.
