I'm looking forward to it. I think it sounds great, and it appeals to the fans of Harvest Moon, or Rune Factory (or FarmVille, w/e). And as some have said, you don't HAVE to play.
Farmville. First Pokemon, now FARMVILLE?Next step, offshore gambling / slots / cards? Will they spam my wall asking people to donate seeds? *sighs* Please, if ANYONE from Blizzard reads this, just... kill this. Kill it.Oh look; someone who hasn't read the entire thing, and doesn't seem to realize it's 100% optional.
I am looking forward for this!Seems a really nice addition to the current way we farm reputationIts going to be really nice and funny:)
Unfortunately, it seems Blizzard no longer care for the RPG in MMORPG.Why cater to your typical RPG player when you can create a social media level "game" with the immersion level of a Facebook app that will attract 1000 times more people than the originally intended demographic?Sad times.You...you DO realize the RPG part stands for "ROLE-PLAY(ING) GAME", don't you? Do you even get what what Role-Play is? I know on my RP server alot of people are excited about this (Optional btw) content. But oh no somehow it's bad and catering to casuals! Wait how does that relate to the who RPG thing anyhow? Casuals don't play RPGs? I'm confused.
You mean we get to have more to do other than incessantly grinding and stabbing/blowing up things? The audacity. My only issue for this would be if this is 'required' much like certain reputation grinds. If I ever have to level Therazane again, no matter how cute Pebble is, I will kick a puppy. As someone that lives on an RP realm, having a farm is an *amazing* asset for roleplay I think, and if anyone is paying attention, this sorta goes in the direction of one other thing we're all pining for.Player homes, or maybe guild houses. Not quite by any means, but it makes me wonder. Does this sorta keep other people from seeing you? Or do you have chunky orcs trouncing your flower gardens as you peacefully farm away? If you're in a group, do you share the phasing? Or are you separated? In short, is this a farm that's yours and only yours to see or can you share it?Anyway, love the idea personally as I keep a farm in Minecraft and loved Harvest Moon. If it's not your thing, do what I expect to do with the 'pokemon' in the game. Pass it over, but keep an open mind. Being so violently against something without even entertaining the possibility of something 'new' only ruins potential fun. It's a self fulfilling prophecy.
It's instanced, which is against MoP's theme of keeping you out in the world, but I'm guessing that it's something that keeps you logging in every day, so that's how they would justify it.No way we get instanced houses in MoP, which I'm okay with.

This looks like something I'm really looking forward to. Almost like player housing--in fact, I wish we had a little house right there we could bring friends to!This plus pet battles, new dungeons, new LFR are what are bringing me back for MOP!

Will they spam my wall asking people to donate seeds? *sighs* Please, if ANYONE from Blizzard reads this, just... kill this. Kill it.I hope it doesn't go, just to make people like you angry. xD And like someone already said, if it's THAT bad to you, you don't have to do it. Pet battles and this so-called 'farmville' like you want to call it, are OPTIONAL. Meaning you don't have to do it. I for one am looking forward to it. Hopefully you can invite people to a group and let them see your farm.

If it helps, the Union quests go: Mung MungFarmer FungNana MudclawHaohan MudclawThis and more in the Guide
Nice. While I see some not liking the idea of a "pokemon" or farming game in their WoW. But like some mentioned that this is optional. I know I might have fun with this :)
If it helps, the Union quests go: Mung MungFarmer FungNana MudclawHaohan MudclawThis and more in the GuideI'm surprised that word isn't...blocked anymore...Edit: Still praying there will be more of this kind of content.
What in the name of everything dark and shadowy is an undead affliction warlock going to be doing planting cabbage?FEL FARTS!
It's good to hear it's more along the lines of Harvest Moon instead of Farmville (since I've heard mostly awesome things about Harvest Moon). Now I just wish I actually played Harvest Moon so I could be excited too o.O And I know a lot of people are pointing out that it's optional--however if you're an achievement hound like me, and there's achievements tied to this, it's not quite optional :)
Friendship, why does that sound familiar, *thinks* oh god yes the bronies are gong to be all this saying why isn't it My Little Pony Friendship is Magic for. come on Blizzard you did it with D3 and you have the bronies backing for more MLP FiM stuff for other games
I am looking forward to this. It's something new and I can do on my own and at my leisure. The gear treadmill gets old.
Does anyone know yet if 'Best Friend' status counts toward the Exalted Reputation achievements?
Does anyone know yet if 'Best Friend' status counts toward the Exalted Reputation achievements?I'm going to toss out a guess and say it probably doesn't.
Sounds more like Harvest Moon than Farmville anyway.I mean one of the gifts is even a Blue Feather, which is an item used to propose marriage in the Harvest Moon games. :P
