Why do you hate doing the daily so much Xentahn? It has its own rewards. Some nice gold, XP, and now 60K Guild XP. Those are reasons in and of itself that make it worth doing. The fact you get a token is a bonus. I don't mind this at all, and I certainly don't need ALL the patterns.Cheers.
@XenthanTo review the other professions I have leveled:Inscription- you have to find Books that are world drops to get all of your patterns, and once Wrath was no longer end game they became very rare and very expensive. You also have to do daily inscription research to get all of your recipes. You basically DO have a daily, except you don't get quest credit or gold for it.Alchemy- you have to discover many of your recipes by making other recipes, meaning that you have to keep burning mats to get them all, and it's kind of random. I believe it's limited to once a day, too, so again it's a daily that you get no gold from.Tailoring, Leatherworking, Blacksmithing- for all of these, the upgraded patterns for each tier have to be farmed out of the newest raids. This means that (unlike JC, who can just do dailies to learn the epic end-game patterns), they have to either be raiding or hope that someone sells them at an exorbitant price on the AH (if they're lucky enough for the recipes to be BOE), or give up being able to make the most relevant gear. This is occasionally the case for enchanting too, but in general they don't have as many upgrades each tier as the gear-making professions. JC will generally have some patterns that drop in dungeons, but usually not in new raid content, so it's not nearly as hard to farm the patterns as many as the other professions, and we don't need to learn a new level of patterns every time a new raid comes out.Enchanting, Leatherworking, Blacksmithing- There are a number of patterns that require farming of high end ore, large amounts of leather or rare and epic quality shards in order to buy from the vendor. It takes me less time to Do a JC daily than it does to farm enough blue quality items to get 10 shards to turn in for a pattern, or enough pyrium to make 5 bars.JC is not alone in needing to work to get all their patterns. Other professions have daily tasks that aren't official dailies. Other professions require turning in materials that require a significant amount of farming time to get in order to learn all the patterns. Other professions require you to be in a raiding guild to learn all the patterns. JC is the only one who has a daily-style-daily, but it by no means requires more work, time spent, or materials used to get all of the patterns. I find it one of the easier ones to be a completionist on, even if the # of days takes a bit longer.I had every gem pattern in Wrath well before the end of the expac, that you had to earn with dailies. I have just about every really useful gem pattern from Cata, and would have them all if I hadn't stopped playing for 6 months. It's completely reasonable to be able to get every pattern that you need for money-making purposes through the dailies
I've just noticed something. I just looked at all professions, selecting only those new recipes you get in Mists. It seems that Jewelcrafting is the only one that doesn't have anything new at level 500, and only has new recipes at 525. Therefore, it's the only profession that you really need to get to 525 before Mists.Cheers.
The only thing I didn't like about JC during Cata was that people other than jewelcrafters could get the patterns for the new meta gems.
Ooh, that black panther is definitely on my rogue's shopping list! <splurge>
The primal recipes can also drop from creatures I have gotten all of mine off of mobs
You are missing Assasin's Imperial amethyst = 80 Agility and 160 PvP powerTense Imperial Amethyst = 80 Strength and 160 PvP power
I have not played my toon that is my designated JC'er... I know that the Vale Dailies are no longer available. Were the recipes that were from the Secrets of the Vale boxes reallocated to another drop or reward for those who did not cash in on the Vale Dailies?
I must say that in this patch at lease. Having killed over 700 mobs and obtaining only 2 meta recipes in Jade Forest, it seems they have clearly nerfed the drop rate on these recipes. I truly despise Blizzard for the RNG in this game. There are better way to do things. RNG just makes many people rage quit and i can see why...when you have to kill thousands no doubt, of jade forest mobs
