Scenario Previews: A Brewing Storm and Brewmoon Festival
2012/06/08 at 5:13 PM
Lore and Perculia have teamed up to give an in-depth preview of the scenarios available for testing. This first batch of scenarios centers around the Brewmasters--a group of Pandaren who take their craft very seriously and end up in the strangest predicaments on their quests for the perfect ingredients.
Currently, you must be level 90 with a minimum ilvl of 425 to queue for scenarios. You can queue up for them using the dungeon finder, either for random or specific ones.
Summary of A Brewing Storm
Up on Thunderpaw Peak, you have to help Blanche Boomer finish making her famous brew. It can only be completed in the rain, which unfortunately is the perfect weather for enraged Saurok, a race of ancient lizards created by the Mogu solely for the purpose of fighting. This scenario is very fast, with three short phases and a NPC that helps tank and heal.
You'll start the encounter by extinguishing kegs on fire and killing waves of Saurok as Blanche completes the brewing process over the course of several minutes. Blanche helps you out by dropping healing pools.
In the next phase, you'll help escort Blanche down the road towards the brewery. More waves of Viletongue adds appear, punctuated by Blanche's humorous comments.
For the last phase, your group will save Thunderpaw Refuge. The Saurok have taken over the brewery and after defeating waves of adds,
Borokhula the Destroyer
himself appears. Players are able to channel electricity to neutralize his adds, and besides dodging some earth spikes, he's a fairly straightforward fight.
After defeating him, Blanche's brew is complete and the first round of drinks are on her!
The Perfect Pour
: Brew the Boomer Brew without anyone in your party being hit by Lightning during A Brewing Storm.
Party of Six
: Finish A Brewing Storm with all six Thunderpaw Guardians still alive.
Don't Shake the Keg
: Defeat Borokhula the Destroyer in A Brewing Storm without getting hit by his Swamp Smash.
A Brewing Storm
: Defeat Borokhula the Destroyer in A Brewing Storm.
Summary of Brewmoon Festival
is frantic because his assistants are held up brewing the Kun-Lai Kicker for this evening's festival. Your group helps free them from various enemies and then fend off several waves of Yaungol enemies that are trying to crash the brewing celebration.
This scenario has a good bit of environmental detail--a lot of the villagers will talk to you, and some will even sell you alcohol. There's quite a party going on in the background too, with dancing and fireworks.
Defeat Karsar the Bloodletter, the virmen in the silos, and Li Te, then start brewing the Kun-Lai Kicker.
I'm glad your'e here! Tonight is the night of the Brewmoon Festival and none of the ingredients for my famous Kun-Lai Kicker have been delivered. I sent my assistants out to gather them but none of them have returned. Could you find out what is keeping them?
Assistant Kieu: I sent Assistant Kieu to the silos to collect a sack of grain but she still hasn't come back. Could you go check on her for me? You can find the silos on the western edge of town.
Assistant Tart: On the night of the Brewmoon, water spirits can be found on Inkgill Mere performing a ritual. Over the years we have made offerings to them in return for a vial of pure water used in crafting the Kun-Lai Kicker. I sent Assistant Tart out to the lake but she hasn't come back yet. Can you head to the north and find out what's keeping her?
Assistant Buzaki: The final ingredient, a secret passed down through generations of my family, comes all the way from the Krasarang Wilds. I sent Assistant Buzaki to pick it up for me a few days ago, and received word that he reached the Tavern in the Mists last night. Can you head into the Ancient Passage and find out what's keeping him? He better not still be asleep at the tavern!
In this phase, Yaungol scouts try to crash the party. They attack the NPCs from all directions, showing up as red dots on your mini-map. You can speak to the Binan Villagers to "recruit" them--they will drop healing circles, tank mobs, and periodically cast large ranged attacks for you.
The rest of the Yaungol attacks--stop the Bataari invasion on Binan Village. In this phase, you can get
The Kun-Lai Kicker
, which helps in stunning the enemies.
The scenario concludes with fighting
. He periodically drops his large axes, which can be picked up and used to whirlwind him for significant damage.
: Complete the Brewmoon Festival Scenario without the village being set on fire.
Binan Village All-Star
: Personally use each of the Brewmoon Festival defenses.
: Defeat Warbringer Qobi in the Brewmoon Festival Scenario.
