I for one am really looking forward to not having to grind rep with a faction, just because they're the only ones who can sell me a specific enchant. I got so sick and tired of having to grind my way through Deepholm on every... single... alt...An alternative option would've been to make all head/shoulder enchants BoA, so that you only need to grind a faction with one specific toon, but I'm more in favour of this one - not only does it completely remove the obligatory faction grind, it also gives Scribes something to do again. Now if only they'd fix the mats for the Glyphs that were changed with the overhaul a while back, so that you can level the profession along with your toon again instead of needing Northrend herbs for a level 28 Glyph, and I'd be truly happy. :p

Not too bothered by this - one less thing to have to upgrade. But it does seem odd that head gear will be the only piece of inventory you can't slap an enchant on. Most serious players are going to grind out the rep to all factions over the 2 year course of an expansion pack, so the reasoning behind removing them seems silly.Then again....blizzard logic over the last couple years seems rather silly, innit?I do like that scribes can now craft shoulder enchants. +1 for that decision.
I really like this change. Quoting myself from one of the wowhead blogs unveiling the Anglers rep:I must have the water walking mount!This so much. Even as a raider, and knowing that there are other factions I should probably grind with, this is the rep I will be maxing first purely for this unique mount.I enjoy grinding reps, and some of the ones in MoP look really interesting, like the fishing and farming ones. There a specific rewards that I am really looking forward to working towards. However, as someone who also likes to raid, I felt that I would be forced to choose between maximising my character and doing something fun. And while Blizzard are advocating 'player choice' for MoP, that sort of choice is not a good one - it leads to feelings of frustration rather than satisfaction over making a meaningful choice.Also, as others have pointed out, head enchants werent even a choice in themselves - they were a necessary thing to get, and there was only one enchant head enchant for your spec. I think it's a good decision to remove them. It's not dumbing down, it's the removal of something that added little to the game.

I think I can live with this. Head arcanums have usually been the most expensive part of the enchanting process for me (since I can usually get the mats for cheaper than the enchants), not to mention that I didn't exactly fancy the long flights out to the middle of nowhere.And with the ability to sell shoulder enchants, that means players now have to start leveling up their reputation *with me*... MUAHAHAHAHAAAAbut seriously, this is a thing that should've been done a long time ago, ever since some professions could learn to make a powerful enchantment for their own gear and then how to sell a weaker one to other people.Having faction-based enchanting has always been such a bother, since I had to spend a week or two grinding up just to get an enchantment for an item I'm going to replace in my next raid anyway, even though every other enchantment could just be given to you by another profession (which is why I kept Inscription for so long- kept me from being too concerned with Sons of Hodir and Therazane).
I can understand their vision with this and I agree with the concept, but does this also mean that various factions will not have gear you can earn through reputation either? If not people will still be choosing the reputations they want to raise first by that (at least, I know I will).

They altered one type of faction enchants and eliminated another.I think it has to do with the fact that scribs already make the shoulders so thats alot easier to program as it is already in our books. However Helms is not currently covered my a Profession so its alot easier to hit Delete then to go threw the process of having to write the code.Or atleast that what I think. I for one like the changes. I only grind factions with my Pally Main. And didn't like that fact that I had to grind Ther. Rep for my alts to get my shoulders enchanted and had to log onto my Main or Grind the Rep again for Helm enchants.I only hope that blizzard does this right and does Shoulder enchants for 70+ and not just 90 only. As well as enchants for both Pvp and Pve.
I didn't really have any major issues with rep grinds for enchants to begin with, but this is most welcome nonetheless. Definitely would prefer not having to go to Vashj'ir every time I got a new helm... or having to do half the damn quest chain to open up the vendor there.
This is a great change. On my main I will always max up every faction, but I dislike having to grind it all again in my alts just to be Raid Ready, Therezane in the third time is like Hell.

So... forcing us to prioritize a faction based on necessary head enchants, is bad.Forcing us to prioritize a cooking specialization for food buffs ("enchants"), is okay.I'm actually starting to understand where all those hot-headed "Ghostcrawler sucks!" players are coming from. Blizzard seems to be SO insecure with the longevity of WoW these days. At least, that's what I infer when I see the entire game getting flipped on it's head with each expansion. Continuously re-envisioning your game isn't necessarily a bad thing. It helps keep the game fresh and challenging even for old players. Too much at once, however, can just as easily frustrate and disenfranchise the playerbase. Yes, i'm over-exaggerating given the fact that this is solely head/shoulder enchants. But the above hypocrisy, in addition to all the other changes and removals coming in MoP, makes me just as much nervous as it does excited.

I find it funny that Blizz keeps spouting off about making characters more distinct, characterful and less cookie cutter while continuing to cut back on potential options. Removing helm slot enchants is just another variable slot removed. Making an enchant for each faction with variant itemization (but with near-equal end effects for balance) would have provided a lot more variation potential then removing the entire concept.This. I wouldn't mind choosing between an int/crit or int/haste helm enchant if set bonuses or some other mechanic ensured the stat weights changed regularly with gear. I also see people talking about 0.05% increase to stats and it got me thinking; why not make the enchants actually matter? 2% haste or 2% crit can be huge.But I guess that's too difficult and/or time-consuming. The game is easier to balance if we just remove them altogether. Hey while we're at it, why don't we remove trinkets too? Those things are a ^&*!@ to balance and the theorycrafters are just going to tell us what we should use anyway, right?What I want to see is more choices that carry weight, not the simplification of the game.
i'm surprised they removed head enchants entirely, I can understand their reasoning for removing them from rep vendors, but removing them entirely?Why not add them to a proffession, like they did with Shoulder Enchants, maybe engineering, as that doesnt have any enchants like most other proffs have . . .
