Re 625: clarified in the post. You can definitely fish there at lower skill levels, but higher chance to get junk (like on live).Luna--was an item ID error. Meant carp there :) Thanks also for the comments on the NPCs!
Boat mount please! I want to host a guild boat fishing party, then motor over to SW docks for more fun. dress like pirates! ( I really want a guild pirate ship too!)
There are tons of Shipwrecked Debris pools west of the Anglers in Krasarang. They drop Azshara's Veil, Volatile Water and Sealed Crates with Embersilk, gold, and Giant Turkey legs.
"What kind of bait you use? I knew a panadaren once, would use his own arm to bait fish. We called him the Noodler. Rumor has it he's retired and went south." (References Cranfur the Noodler in The Jade Forest who talks about fishing.)He is actually in the inn at Marista in Krasarang Wilds, not The Jade Forest. I posted details for him here a couple of days ago; Cranfur the Noodler <Innkeeper>. Nice to see Blizzard linking characters through NPC dialogues like this. This is also a reference to the real life fishing strategy of noodling, where you put your whole arm in a hole in a submerged tree trunk or wherever you can find one, in the hopes that a large catfish will attempt to swallow it, and you can catch it.
The fishing poles suck (you should have better or equal by now with the poles from the Dalaran and Faction City fishing dailies) but the raft is something a lot of people have wanted for a while.
I believe you've got a typo in the sentence "The skill level required to catch these without junk in most zones in 625." in->is ;)Even more importantly, shouldn't that be 525 instead of 625? I thought the new skill cap for professions in Mists was 600.625 sounds about right. The upper limits always have been above the current cap to ensure a random element in catching.Besides, with enough boosts, you can get over 700 in mists. The roll of skill v 'no junk' skill cap in each zone is explained at El's Extreme Anglin'. From current data the current 'no-junk skill level for each MoP zone is:
my question is fishing going to be easier to level yet I stilll hate the fact it takes me over a month to get to fishing 300I have yet to get fisshing past 315 on any character.
And yes, it's set up that way to encourage the use of skill boosters. It always has been that case. You don't expect them to just have you catch fish to easily you don;t go fishing IRL and not use bait. They won't make it just like IRL but they will at least use that you need bait.

Engineering.both Fishing & Archaeology are less tedious in MoP, at least in the beta. I've already hit 600 in fishing. It still takes a bit of effort though. Cooking requires lots of fish.Edit: take it back, Archaeology is still a pain and, at least for me, is bugged in the beta. Fishing is good, went from 525 to 600 in less than 500 fish caught. Leveling cooking does require a great amount of fishing.
As a long time angler I'm very excited about this.I do have two requests/suggestions.First: The fishing in Azeroth (lvls 10-60) always seems more exciting to me because fishing in the floating debris pools has an aspect of treasure finding. With the addition of gear and the rare recipe the angler has a sense of "What am I going to get this time!" anticipation that is lacking in the BC content and beyond.I would like to see this aspect returned to the higher levels of fishing.Second: The goldfish pet looks adorable and I must have one, however, the water in the other water-pet bubbles is too dark and it obscures the pet too much, making it appear more like just a silhouette. I would like to suggest something that looks more like an air bubble with water tinting around the edges only so as to be able to see the pet clearly. (Please, please, please)PS: I whole-heartedly support the previous poster in suggesting a two person fishing raft. Often a couple of us go out fishing for the guild's feasts and this would just bring so much "coolness factor" into the activity.Thank you for all your hard work! (*hands out virtual shoulder massages*)
Finely some love for the anglers :)
I don't think alot of players like fishing cuz its kinda boring ( i know some people do like it ) but it would be more fun if they would put in a mini game like simon say whit 4 anglers and they go up and down whit like the normal when you catch a fish animation going up and down and the longer you manage to do it right the more fish you get or something like that cuz just waiting is kinda boring in my opinion ---tell me if you got any better idea for improving fishing. :) .
Bottom line, we need a flying fish mount.Yeah, I said it. :-)

"One of the children swears up and down they saw a cross between a shark and an octopus the other day. I know there are a lot of strange things in the ocean but that seems extra silly to me."Someone at Blizzard watched Sharktopus!
Bottom line, we need a flying fish mount.Yeah, I said it. :-)Imo swimming in the air should be a mount. Just give us an item to do that.(lol)
this is starting to sound like they should have an increase in Fishing Skill and an increase in cooking skillThis happens in every expansion anyway.
I believe you've got a typo in the sentence "The skill level required to catch these without junk in most zones in 625." in->is ;)Actually this sentance makes perfect sense, and no typo. It means located in these zones, as in located within these zones. No the second in should be isIf you were to grammatically compile the sentence it would become: "The skill level required to catch these, without junk in most zones, is 625", or alternately "The skill level required to catch these, without junk, is 625 in most zones".
Excellent point! I always like to fish with a friend.I really hope that fishing raft is two-man so you and a friend can fish together, back to back.Excellent point! I would really like to see Blizzard implement a real-time fishing experience i.e. Similar to fishing in the Nintendo 64 Zelda: Ocarina of Time. That style has always been my favorite of any game.
