Course: Introduction to the Dark Arts
Instructor Chillheart journeyed from Northrend to teach aspiring necromancers discipline, harshly punishing those who disappoint her. She commands the icy chill of the north and masterfully uses Scholomance's libraries to deadly effect.
Course: Advanced Illusions
Barov's spirit lurked in the recesses of Scholomance for years, but now she has taken a more active role in educating the next generation of magi. Her vast knowledge of illusions has made her both a valued educator and a dangerous opponent to anyone foolish enough to draw her ire.
In Heroic difficulty, defeating the wrong image causes a Flash Bang, inflicting 97500 to 102500 Arcane damage to all enemies.
Course: Reanimation 101
Rattlegore was thought to have been destroyed in Andorhal, but Gandling immediately began preparations to reanimate the clattering terror so he could guard against intruders. The Darkmaster sought to make Rattlegore more ferocious than ever, imbuing him with an insatiable desire to harvest raw materials from his enemies.
The undead Lilian Voss strangled her father--a high priest of the Scarlet Crusade--for treachery, and then started a rampage that eventually led her into the shadowy corridors of Scholomance. Rather than destroy the intruder, Darkmaster Gandling graciously decided to show Voss how to embrace her grim fate. The anger and runeblades she had once directed at the school are now turned toward Gandling's enemies.
Course: Advanced Studies
The recent defeat in Andorhal has put Darkmaster Gandling in the foulest of moods. More than ever, all students of Scholomance are advised to impress him at every turn. Pupils who dissatisfy the headmaster will be removed from class to perform lab work... or become lab work.
Just a comment on the cometary on the Darkmaster Gandling fight. The teleporting a player into one of the side rooms is not a new mechanic. He dose that in the current version of the fight. You have to fight your way out of the room to get back to the party.
In case anyone didnt notice, rattlegore's buff only refreshed when he made contact with the player, everytime he hits you he gets a 5% buff from what i can tell which im assuming you have to use the fire to reset or something.
So there I was thinking that maybe I will go back in WoW once Pandaria hits. But then I read about this and the Scarlet Monastery. So thanks Blizzard for helping me keep my money.
Re: Scholomance videoRattlegore's stacking buff reduces his movement and attack speeds. In the video it was said that they increased the speeds. I believe this could have kiting implications as his damage grows large, but his movement is slowed.
My problem with Scholo and Scarlet Monastary is mostly that they're also going to be Level 90 Heroic dungeons. If they had just dropped them as revised old world low level dungeons I wouldn't have as much of a problem because they also heavily altered stuff like Sunken Temple and Wailing Caverns or the updated version of RFC coming up in Mists. Cataclysm was all about how the old world is changed in really important and big ways so revamping Deadmines and SFK into heroic dungeons made sense. The focus of Mists of Pandaria seems to be exploring a new mini-continent and the war between the Alliance and the Horde, we don't know all the lore behind it sure but as of now it seems neither Scarlet Monastary nor Scholomance is tied into what's going on.
Wow it looks pretty nice. Good job Blizz.
It looked very well built from the things we've seen in the expansion that shall not be named, i was very happy to see the bored student room updated more to actually look like a preview, though i noticed his bodyguard was no longer there. As well as the entire instance, there's a pathway to the left in the bored student room that was locked and would normally lead downwards to old Headmaster (Dark master?) that we did not get to see, was this the recorder or did Blizzard intend to remove that area? Possibly could be a "Heroic only" type boss.
Hello there.Just wanna add something - during fight with Darkmaster Gandling you are getting teleported to emty rooms on lower level. Regards
I wonder where they got that idea with the new moving head paintings in the first hall, Walt Disney is rolling in his grave.
Dude, seriously that was an excellent revamp of an instance that was so much fun to play before they redesigned it. If you do not find this one small peak exciting, then you are burned out and have played wow too long. This expansion, much to my surprise is shaping up to be one of the best we've seen in a long time. I'd imagine that no new content or redesign of older content would ever be "good enough". That fense you're on, you need to jump off and cancel your account, because no matter what the expansion brings, you will be disappointed, so save your money and move on to the next disappointments and boring content that the rest of your life will bring with such a jaded views you have exhibited.
From these early peeks into the new expansion Blizzard may well be on the way to releasing one of the best expansion we have ever seen. Blizzard has learned a lot of hard lessons about what players want and don't want. Hopefully, those days of surprise, amazement, and fun that I felt when I started playing wow, will be back, and I'll feel like that level 1-60 noob I was when I first started playing wow.
great set up and a nice heroic run i noticed no enchant drops in heroic alot of items have been removed from normal its mainly junk now i went in yesterdayon a low lvl for the old tailoring pattern which an updated version could be added also no epics in normal anymore so im keeping hold of that old Epic Headmasters charge for transmog
Scholo looks awesome!
The pictures stare at you. Their eyes follow you and it's bloody creepy. The big picture of the female in the classroom is probably by far the most creepy with it's high-definition.
