awesome im very excited about the next expansion
Wow! Now this one was awesome Ghostcrawler :OI really liked that he knows they failed with the contents in Cata :PI hope all the goals will be achieved by Blizzard. :) If so, the expansion will be freaking awesome.
A very good read.I'm kind of disappointed that they're doing away with the linear questing model, but understand that a lot of you didn't like that.Cheers.
I'm really enjoying these reflections.
Can't wait for new info on 19th of March.
Well, I am just a bit sad about Cataclysm because they just had to do a lot of things to make the future expansions much better, improving questings and low level gameplay in general but in the end it cost a little of endgame content. As I like to think, cataclysm lore is for the Hardcore and Veteran player who will remember every detail of every old zone and the histories but the cataclysm mechanics are for the new and always needed Nubs new players.About the new talent tree;
A very good read, I'm super excited for MoP! Been loving this Cataclysm Post Mortem series -- keep 'em coming!
great post. great read.
Even the ever-angry nerds at MMO-champ agree that this was a good interview.
One question for the developers: Am I going to have to do the same quests in MoP over and over for each toon or is there going to be more variety? If I have to do something like Deepholme 6 times on all my toons just to get the shoulder enchant, I will not be happy.
Personally the moving sidewalk style questing was my biggest problem. It actually made Northrend awesome for me all over. I could just go and grab like 20 quests and then turn them all in at once. That feeling is just awesome. I do like the linear quests for their stories, but Wrath showed that they can deliver great story w/out making it all linear though.
I feel like the devs or in any blue post that the Molten Front was not a grind. How is that not a grind? You are doing the same dailies every day for more rep and items. Seems like a grind to me.I would hope they are fleshing our the problems the MF had, too. Such as one faction completely controlling it so that when you take two steps into the contested area you get ganked. And the guards do nothing. They just sit there staring as if nothing happened.
i was wondering when they would bring ghostcrawler in for an interview. but then that said, of all the questions they asked him, there is none in the interview that adresses balance between classes and the talent system that was launched in cata, which was probably one of the biggest flaws about cata.
"Coming out of Lich King, we’d gotten the message loud and clear from players that they wanted tougher challenges. They liked the convenience of Dungeon Finder, but they missed using their crowd control and survival abilities and having to strategize about how to beat a given encounter. We designed the Cataclysm heroics with that in mind, and the players who wanted challenging content were thrilled."i hope blizz has now realised the mistake of ever listening to the special snowflakes in the first place. who knows, if they make dungeons easier again, maybe those subs that left will come back. good thing this new challenge mode in MoP is not going to give those who complete it a leg up in getting better gear, otherwise it will end up becoming a necessity in gearing up to raid.
Anyone else think of majoras mask when they saw the second to last screenshot?
