Blizzard is definitely being smarter about this. In the past, the person doing the inviting basically got $15 ( a free month)... now all they get is an ingame mount (still pretty cool, but basically costs Blizz nothing). The person coming back gets all the obstacles removed. They don´t have to buy a lot of expansions, they don´t have to spend a week or two leveling to the new content etc. It really is a nice deal all around.
A little side note. If your character is already on the same server and faction of the person who sent the request then you can not faction change or server change.
Well that's to be expected.
Good job Blizz, you just wasted your time and effort 'revamping' 1-60 with this very tempting offer
And to be honest; people need to have had an account before they can do this; they'll be rusty, and will probably need to do some relearning, but that's really not that new.
So only one character will get the mount. That's obviously so there is an appeal to send out more than one scrolls. But does that mean we'll not get account wide mounts somewhen in MoP? :(
I believe this, is the beginning of the end folks. I'd hate to say it, but WoW is a slowly sinking ship. This has desperation stamped all over it.
I disagree, this means I don't have to level a toon through the crappy Outlands with its terrible questing the Cata content has been fun but now 3 toons at 61 - 63. At least 1 will go to 80 to join my main.
To be honest, Recruit a Friend was a horrible move to begin with for basic loyal customers, now this is just a giant middle finger to them. They keep giving rewards to those who simply pay more. You quit? No problem! Have a bunch of free $#!^. How about they give a free transfer/faction change to someone who's been a customer for a few years? Crap like this is why they're failing, they reach for a few lost players with a quick money-grubbing scheme without thinking of the in-game economy and without working on the actual game. You want people to come back? Work on the content and be good to your customers.
