Some people have a hard time understanding the simple, utterly core rule of business.Things come, things go. WoW might decline for a while, but everyone's always talking in black-and-white, where WoW is either "going to die because of x" or "WoW is fine, just appealing to a new crowd." or whatever their reason is. It's a simple cycle. Even if WoW did decline now, people might come back for nostalgia reasons, or maybe the other MMOs stop making new content sooner.All I'm saying is this... really isn't news-worthy. It's just a service following the cycle of climb and fall.
Agreed. And not to mention the the announcement of the next expansion... teddy bears... Blizzard has shown us how to truly snatch defeat from the jaws of victory...
The only reason this game literally survives is nostalgia and kids. The adults are all but done with this game now thanks to the no fail mode. LFR is seriously a joke. Don't tell me it helps people raid because it doesn't. It has the opposite effect. LFR is so easy that once you go into normal they are nothing at all like eachother. LFR is BH for dummies. More people are going to leave as the months drag on. When is MoP coming? Not till after summer and that is a long ass time for people to keep doing the same thing. Yes this gives some guilds a chance to clear heroic and reg versions, but honestly if you can't clear DS with just the 5% debuff you will never do it. Like I said this game only survives on notalgia (or addiction) and stupid kids. The same thing happened to DDO. Was a great game and very difficult for people who never tried it before. Then they went f2p and catered to warcrack kiddies by giving them low lvl tier gear and new dungeons that are as straightforward as waltzing to Archavon. In the end this game will die and go f2p. (DDO was all about the ability to use the same gear you started with. I know amazing, a game you didn't need to get new gear every couple lvls)One last thing. This cannot be stressed enough. Cata was such a fail because they focused on the damn lowbies too much. Their answer to twinks was to throw as much easy to get gear as they could at you and hope you don't get facerolled. This was such a huge mistake. They give you this whole new amount of chain quests that are linear and you will outlvl the zone before you do them all. With or without lvl up gear. Also LEARN TO MAKE QUESTS THAT AREN'T JUST "KILL/GRAB X RETURN TO QUEST GIVER" Grinder quests aren't always bad, but the majority of them have little reward or just feel like a waste of time since like I said before you'll be outlvl'ing the place so fast. If you are going to go with a linear model make the quests as fast as possible with as little experience gain from mobs.
Then add required levels to all the items. Or make it a scaling reward, like how the heirlooms are. Depending on what level you completed the quest the stats scale with your level. But they stick at the level you completed them and don't scale as you increase in level after receiving the item.

I really think that TOR only did so adequete because it copy pasted about 80% of the game from Wow. Give it a few more months it will be flushed down the same hole as Rift, Conan, Aeon, Wahammer, etc. And Im just gonna say this now, so will Guild Wars 2. Blizzard really cornered the MMO market with wow.Anyway give MOP a chance, that trailer was obviously rushed tobe out in time for Blizzcon. I wouldnt have even minded it if it werent the way they presented it... "First we faced the demon lords of the burning legion... then death itself rose up against us... we survived the breaking of the world..." Then the badass music fades out to pandas lol.
I think the only thing that pisses me off with world of warcraft is that they keep increasing the level cap with every expansion. That level 60 everyone worked soo hard to perfect .. ruined by BC, that level 70 everyone then worked soo hard on, ruined by WotLK, that level 80 everyone had to master .. ruined by cata and all the "bind to battle.net" items. So now when pandas arrive ... all the 85's will become weak, all the content increased yet again.I understand the need for "bigger, better, newer" things. but i feel i would have much more pleasure playing this game if the original level cap was still in place, that casual new players didnt have to work for months in order to finally join senior players. And then take even longer to match others in "pvp". which to me is mostly a joke. I've experienced battles on other MMO's that had 3 factions, each numbering in 30-50 people all merging together to fight. THAT was PVP.Hell, I think I would enjoy this game more if doing raids and pvp actually benefited your faction as a whole and not just "yourself"That "neutral" zone to take over ... it unlocks an awesome NO limit, open world raid for the controlling faction that can get spoiled by the opposing faction if they take back the zone. That "war artifact" your faction just took into their territory ... it increases experience, money gain, crit chance, or even increased stats until its taken back. That raid that was completed, it just gave an excessive buff that lasts a day or two and through death to your whole faction.

It seems like a big deal, but I really doubt that subscriber loss had much impact on the bottom line - after all, there are still over 10 million subscribers.Nothing will really kill WoW until Blizzard shuts down the servers for good.
