this is dumb. you're basically making a friends list within a friends list. The whole point of the batlenet friends list was so that players could talk to their friends between games and realms, all the while knowing who they ACTUALLY were. You're forgetting the reason for a battlenet friends list.
No, the battle.net friends list will still exist and you can still use it to know who your real life friends are. Meanwhile they're adding this other option so that if you meet someone online or in a dungeon/raid/bg queue and you like playing with them or whatever you cad add them without having to give them your real name. Brilliant move Blizzard, thank you!
Most the people on my battle.net friends list are people I know IRL. With this, it'll be nice to add people that I enjoyed playing with (as Sethris said) without them knowing who I am directly.
I LOVE THIS! Thanks alot!
This is a step in the right direction a real improvement to battle.net friends list would be the option to appear offline, for those times you just want to slaughter monsters in peace.
So....the original plot to get RealID 'names' up on the forums has been reworked to use nick names then? Well played Blizzard, well played heh.
So they're finally adding a level of obscurity to just handing out your Login and real name? Took 'em long enough. RealID should have had this to start with.
Everyone use their wowhead names as their nicknames. k.Just to show you I'm serious, my nickname is lankybrit.Cheers.
