I'm a little annoyed they got all my information then don't even give me a download link for the client... I feel ripped off. Bad form, Wowhead. (and yes, I tried that swtor.com/tester, nothing there for download).
Not WoWhead's fault that BioWare screwed them over with bad info.
had the same prob as a lot of you this is all i could find on anything related to this. anyone else got anything?. http://tor.zam.com/forum.html?forum=233&mid=13212968084973438
I've updated with the official BioWare rules they just sent us to clarify :) Apparently this will be for an invite later this week. It's an actual beta, but they are taking the codes you redeem and putting you on their next invite list through it. So you will be invited in a week or so through the email you've registered with. However, it's still a free key. As a few other sites also launched these giveaways today, I can assure you, not a scam.
we registered for both ZAM and the Official site, that's a lot of personal information for NOTHING IN RETURN
I've updated with the official BioWare rules--apparently this will be for an invite later this week. It's not a stress test, it's an actual beta, but they are taking the codes you redeem and putting you on their next invite list through it. So you will be invited in a week or so. we registered for both ZAM and the Official site, that's a lot of personal information for NOTHING IN RETURNYou have a free invite to the beta period, which is starting this weekend rather than today as previously assumed by vague wording (our slip up--and we're sorry for that! I have fixed it, as I had no idea). As ZAM and BioWare do not send your information to anyone--plus by having a Wowhead account you have a ZAM account--your information is in safe hands.
This last weekend the servers were ****ed. You couldn't log in most of friday and sat was a pain too, had queues of 4k during the stress test. However the game releases on dec 20 (minus the 5 day head start us forever ago pre orders will get). You can bet these 25 thousand free keys + the people already on the list for invite will be another sort of stress test to see if they worked out their kinks. Either way this game is awesome, get a key and play it if you enjoyed kotor and want that back.
Found this forum post over at SWTOR in regards to the beta testing.link
Found this forum post over at SWTOR in regards to the beta testing.linkThanks! Also, thanks for replying Ashelia
we registered for both ZAM and the Official site, that's a lot of personal information for NOTHING IN RETURNYou didn't just register for ZAM, you've been a member since 2008, and you were not obliged to give away anything truly personal, either. To imply that ZAM, or BIOWARE, has evil intents on taking over the world with your newly created account on their site is a bit outrageous. You did not get "NOTHING IN RETURN." You received a BETA key for an upcoming Star Wars event. Anything you provided was of your own free will, and being the educated person you are, you know full well the consequences of handing over any information in such an environement. If you do not trust the companies involved, then do not do business with them. To imply ZAM has ill intent in providing you a FREE give away goes against the fact that you've been a member for over 3 years and have paid witness to their give aways in said time frame, yet you're still here.A little research on your part would have went a long way, rather than coming to the boards and implying foul play.
I have a Mac. Giving my key to the first FB friend to write it down :P
Originally when I heard about this I was excited about it, but then I heard that you kill HK-47.I cannot live with that, and that is why I will not be playing it...
Originally when I heard about this I was excited about it, but then I heard that you kill HK-47.I cannot live with that, and that is why I will not be playing it...Take it to the SW:TOR boards ... neither WoWhead, nor ZAM, made the Star Wars movies, the games, the toys, it's history/lore, controls it's future, or any such thing.
we registered for both ZAM and the Official site, that's a lot of personal information for NOTHING IN RETURNStop being a drama queen. You got a beta key. To place "NOTHING IN RETURN" in caps is just crying like a baby: "I WANT IT NOW, I WANT IT NOW, I WANT IT NOW, AND IF YOU DON'T GIVE IT ME I'M A GONNA HOLD MY BREATH UNTIL I PASS OUT! WAAAAAAAAAAGH!"Seriously?I mean ... seriously?PS: And you've been a member since 2008, don't act like you JUST NOW signed up on this site and gave all your precious personal information specifically just for this FREE give away.and just so you know, SWTOR wants your address and phone number for a chance to play an internet game. for all you know they already have your IP, computer specs and want you to download additional software that will monitor the cpu/memory/video card/sound card/file structure of your computer for marketing research analyticsinformation is a profitable thing :D that's why there's so many ADs on sites and site analytics and ppl depending on ppl sharing links on social media sites for free advertising. we get very little in return except whatever carrot is dangled in front of our faces for jumping thru these hoopsfor all you know i could be looking out for everyone else's best interest. every form of media needs a squeaky wheel right? PS don't take me seriously ;3 lols
I actually got into the beta this last weekend 11-13, and Id have to say I cant wait until the release. From what Ive read they plan to have 1 more Beta before the final release so if you guys didn't get in theirs a god chance you will on the next one.
Personal information? I provided my email address not my bank account information or how many times I wet the bed as a kid. Thanks for the beta.
Im not sure why you had so many problems with the acception of Friday night where I was in queue for about 2hrs, the rest of the weekend though was great. Both times when the servers went down I had zero queue time to get back in and once I was in the game ran great.
That's pretty funny. You don't want to play because of a rumor that you'd end up killing an NPC that you seem to have some sort of fascination with. Well good luck in WoW.
Once redeemed, BioWare will contact you 7-10 days before the next test phase.Invitations with precise instructions on how to download the client and prepare for the test will be sent to players approximately 7 to 10 days before the test. When the test commences, we will begin inviting groups of players every 24 hours until we've invited everyone into the test. The test will run for approximately 4 days and it's possible some players will receive more play time than others. It's shown on the same page you get your key from, after registering/signing in/submitting key, you have to go back and refresh. What a stupid place to show that, though.Although, this game looks awful in my opinion. The animations are really bad, the graphics which I don't even care about look worse than WoW, and all of the trailers/demos I've seen were stupid. One trailer demonstrated the "Force Choke". Ok, a 5 second CC which you have to channel... Why would you ever use that
