Is there confirmation somewhere that these rep gains are towards the old faire rep and not a new one? I don't remember reading about it in the preview but I may have missed it.
There should also be a Darkmoon Faire circus instance for every level group, the prizes would be tickets and blue quality gear.I really like those minigames.
Man, those rep gains are amazing. I bought all of those damn cards and decks for soooo long just to have it become wasted gold. Ah well. Back to commissioning people to farm me junkboxes.
Wow.. for me, this new Darkmoon Faire has gone from "quite lame, nothing interesting, only worth visiting once or twice for a few gold profit on lowbie herbs" to "the place where just about every character of mine will be spending time to grind rep and level professions". Seriously, 5 skill points per daily quest, and one for every single profession available? Even if the Faire is still sitting at 1 week a month, that's going to be an awesome (and cheap) way to level professions for all those alts I have.Just one thing that puzzles me.. what is the item that you get as reward for the profession dailies alongside the tickets? The link gives me an error, but I'm really curious - is it a special currency, used to buy special DMF profession recipes or perhaps some decent blues like the Darkmoon Dirk and Darkmoon Necklace?
Will the Darkmoon Faire Qs give rep with them? That is all I am truly interested in :D
As hard as it is, I really think the next Legendary should have been for tanks, like complete the standard questline for the legendary and then you would have your pick of the tank legendary you want, a 1h, a 2h, or a shield, as hard as it would be, this is what would satisfy the tanking legendaries. I am upset that the Legendary blizz has decided to make is for only rogues when blizz themselves a few months ago clearly stated they would not be making a legendary for only one class. And i would also be upset because this rogue questline sounds trivial compared to the weeks it takes the other legendaries to be obtained. It makes sense and no sense why blizz would make this legendary only for rogues if they were to chose one class, statistically speaking, rogues are the least PLAYED class, however this also would not be fair because just imagine a rogue duelwielding these daggers and being able to kill you too easily within a stunlock. It is also trivial in how blizz invented a legendary for only one class, and that it fails to accomadate all three specs of said class, these daggers only work for assassain and subtlelty rogues, any rogue that uses daggers in combat in a %^&*ing dumbass. I hope blizz plans to make tank legendaries in the future, seeing as there has been no TRUE tanking legendary made yet, yea, thunderfury was widely uses by tanks in van, but it wasnt a true tank wep, Rag's mace was more of a druid one, and Shadowmourne worked pretty well for dk tanks, but there has yet to be a legendary made completely for tanks only.
I'm currently farming for my Insane title and would like to know if those quests grant reputation past friendly/honored/revered so I know if I'll have to rush my Darkmoon reputation or not.
As for the Darkmoon Faire quests. I never sought the title “the Insane” because, by the time I learned of it, I was too far along with the Steamwheedle Cartel and too much in need of the good graces of the inhabitants of the Steamwheedle towns for Bloodsail reputation to make any sense at all. I did reach exalted with the Steamwheedle Cartel before Cataclysm by freeing Knot Thimblejack and making Gordok Ogre Suits in a grind that made me never want to see Dire Maul again. But I confess to chasing after every reputation available. The three reputations that remain to me from Classic WoW are, in increasing order of mind-numbing dullness, Darkmoon Faire, Ravenholdt and the Magram Clan centaurs of Desolace. The list of the new Darkmoon Faire quests shows a total of 18 quests (3 PvP, 9 PvE, 2 primary and 4 secondary profession) which one can complete yielding 250 reputation each for a total of 4500 points. What isn’t clear is whether any are repeatable or not and, if so, how often. Certainly there are Darkmoon Decks that give rather limited amounts of reputation but they represent a really awful grind. Making these new quests, even some of them, repeatable daily, weekly or even monthly, depending on how often one can visit the Faire on its new island, would make the grind for reputation with Darkmoon Faire more attractive and manageable. If those quests only give reputation at lower tiers (e.g. below Honored) they will make Darkmoon reputation just as onerous as it is today. The Darkmoon cards are an integral part of the game providing some of the best trinkets for the slot at several levels. I don’t think that an easier reputation grind will greatly change players’ interest in creating decks at this point though it may challenge the designers to keep the trinket cards at or near the top for their classes in future expansions. In any case, my point is that reputation grinds should appear feasible for players. Not short or easy, cheap or painless, just feasible which Darkmoon Faire currently isn’t for the amount of time, effort and gold involved in reaching exalted.
just a stupid question, i wodner how they datamined those quest since the island is not even added in the ptr yet? can't wait for the rogue legendary dagger :o *which is ugly as hell*
Really nice :)
