So, as we can see, this is an obvious change that needs be made to the name system. Because it's sooooo hard to google search keyboard alt codes or.. Wait, we've been able to link character names for years now with no issue!'Keyboard alt codes'? I didn't even know what they were before you mentioned them. I've never once seen an accent mark used in a name in WoW to denote a non-English-language name. Every one I have ever seen in 7 years of playing was used to make a name that is hard to type out exactly. And sometimes you can't link a name, like when trying to include someone's name in a GM ticket because of spamming or harassment.
Correct me if i'm wrong but, they just nerf stuff right?
General Transmogrification This new feature allows players to customize their gear like never before. You'll find Transmogrification, Void Storage, and Reforging vendors in Cathedral Square, Stormwind and The Drag, Orgrimmar. The costs associated with this service are not yet final. Void Storage In addition to the bank, players will now have access to a new "deep storage" system, allowing characters to free bag space by setting aside coveted gear. You'll find Transmogrification, Void Storage, and Reforging vendors in Cathedral Square, Stormwind and The Drag, Orgrimmar. The costs associated with this service are not yet final. As promised =) Reforging The former Reforging vendors have been... retired. The ethereals have chosen to take over the business and joined their Transmogrification and Void Storage service providers. You'll find them in Cathedral Square, Stormwind and The Drag, Orgrimmar. Not too bad although I am a bit sad about relocation. Outland & Northrend Quest Flow The amount of experience needed to gain levels 71 through 80 has been reduced by approximately 33%. Many Group quests in Outland and Northrend have been re-tuned to allow players to complete them solo. They are no longer labeled as Group quests. Relevant questgivers have been moved into Outland and Northrend dungeons. The majority of dungeon quests for these zones are now available from within their respective dungeons.I am glad about these changes. They now somewhat match the Vanilla leveling experience (without the redesigned zones and so on, but that's later) North American realms (excluding Brazilian, Latin American, and Oceanic realms) no longer permit letters with accents in character or guild names. Existing character and guild names with special characters will be unaffected by this change.Sad about this. Why?Achievements The achievement Master of Alterac Valley no longer requires the The Alterac Blitz achievement. Not much to say about that.Classes: General All raid and party buffs which grant group members 10% increased attack power have been changed slightly. They continue to provide 10% increased ranged attack power, but now provide 20% increased melee attack power. Abomination's Might: The melee attack power bonus from this raid buff has been increased to 10/20%, up from 5/10%. The ranged attack power bonus remains 5/10%. Blessing of Might: The melee attack power bonus from this raid buff has been increased to 20%, up from 10%. The ranged attack power bonus remains 10%. Runescroll of Might: The melee attack power bonus from this consumable has been increased to 16%, up from 8%. The ranged attack power bonus remains 8%. Trueshot Aura: The melee attack power bonus from this raid buff has been increased to 20%, up from 10%. The ranged attack power bonus remains 10%. Unleashed Rage: The melee attack power bonus from this raid buff has been increased to 10/20%, up from 5/10%. The ranged attack power bonus remains 5/10%.I think this is intended to be a buff for melee in a group setting. Vengeance for Protection warriors, Protection paladins, Blood death knights, and Feral druids has been redesigned slightly. It no longer ramps up slowly at the beginning of a fight. Instead, the first melee attack taken by the tank generates Vengeance equal to 33% of the damage taken by that attack. In addition, as it updates periodically during the fight, it's always set to at least 33% of the damage taken by the tank in the last 2 seconds. It still climbs from that point at the rate it did previously, still decays when damage is not taken, and still cannot exceed a maximum based on the health and Stamina of the tank. Threat generated by classes in active tanking modes has been increased to 500% damage done, up from 300%. This applies to druids in Bear Form, death knights in Blood Presence, warriors in Defensive Stance, and paladins with Righteous Fury active.I am interested in the Vengeance change. This means it'll be climbing to the cap much quicker and it'll account for avoidance (so chain avoids don't cause massive Vengeance decay). The threat buff was already hotfixed in =).Death Knight Death Strike now heals the death knight whether or not the attack misses, or is dodged/parried. As a result of this change, Death Strike no longer refunds its rune cost if it fails to hit the target, as the death knight will still receive the healing effect.I think that's fair...maybe. It might hurt Blood DK threat but with the threat generation boost, this shouldn't be a huge issue. Talent Specializations Blood Blade Barrier has been redesigned. It now passively reduces damage taken. Bone Shield now has 6 charges, up from 4. Veteran of the Third War now reduces the cooldown of Outbreak by 30 seconds.I like all of these Blood DK changes.Druid Wrath has a new spell effect. Talent Specializations Restoration Wild Growth healing has been reduced by 20%.Noo.NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO =( I love that spell. Glyphs Glyph of Shred has been renamed Glyph of Bloodletting, and now also causes Mangle to extend the duration of Rip, in addition to its existing Shred functionality. Glyph of Wild Growth now also increases the cooldown on Wild Growth by 2 seconds. That's helpful...The Bloodletting Glyph anyways.Hunter Coming soon.WatMage Coming soon.D:Paladin Holy Radiance now has a 3.0-second cast time, no cooldown, and requires a player target. That target is imbued with Holy Radiance, which heals them and all group members within 10 yards instantly, and continues to heal them by a smaller amount every 1 second for 3 seconds.3 second cast! But on the other hand, I do SORT OF like the change, but this is going to make it suck for PvP. Seal of Insight, when Judged, no longer returns 15% base mana to the paladin. Judging Seal of Insight still causes damage, and melee attacks will still restore 4% of base mana. But why? =( Talent Specializations Holy Clarity of Purpose now also reduces the cast time of Holy Radiance. Illuminated Healing (mastery) now also applies to Holy Radiance. Infusion of Light now applies its cast time reduction from Holy Shock critical effects to Holy Radiance, in addition to its current effects. In addition to providing haste, the effect from Judgements of the Pure now increases mana regeneration from Spirit by 10/20/30% for 60 seconds. Light of Dawn now affects 6 targets (base effect), up from 5. Paragon of Virtue now lowers the cooldown of Divine Protection by 15/30 seconds, up from 10/20 seconds. Speed of Light no longer triggers from Holy Radiance and no longer lowers the Holy Radiance cooldown. Speed of Light now only triggers from Divine Protection. Tower of Radiance, in addition to its current effects, now also causes Holy Radiance to always generate 1 charge of Holy Power at all times. Glyphs Glyph of Light of Dawn now lowers the number of targets to 4, instead of increasing targets to 6, but increases healing by 25%.I am interested by most of these changes....>_> PvP nerf and sort of a PvP buff? I guess?Priest Divine Hymn now affects 5 targets, up from 3.Much needed change. Talent Specializations Discipline Atonement will now account for the target enemy's combat reach when calculating proper range, enabling it to be used on large creatures such as Ragnaros and Al'Akir. That's a good change. Holy Spirit of Redemption has been rebuilt to address a few functionality issues and make it more responsive. Spirit of Redemption otherwise remains unchanged. State of Mind has been redesigned and is now called Heavenly Voice. Heavenly Voice increases the healing done by Divine Hymn by 50/100%, and reduces the cooldown of Divine Hymn by 2.5/5 minutes.OH MY GOD. Hai Tranquility 2.0 =) Glyphs Glyph of Circle of Healing now also increases the mana cost of Circle of Healing by 20%.D:Rogue Coming soon. I wonder what they'll be.Shaman Flametongue Weapon no longer increases spell damage. It now increases all non-physical damage done by the wielder by 5%.I actually sort of like this. %s are much better (now if ONLY Aspect of the Hawk was similar to this). Wind Shear now has a 25-second base cooldown, up from 6 seconds. It better have a longer interruption time (or something). I can understand they're trying to prevent Resto Shaman from having too much "ranged" interrupt accessibility (like a Resto Druid, for instance). Talent Specializations Elemental Call of Flame no longer causes Fire Nova to extend the duration of Flame Shock. Earthquake damage has been increased by roughly 75%. Elemental Fury now removes the cooldown from Chain Lightning. Reverberation now reduces the cooldown of Wind Shear by 10/20 seconds, up from 0.5/1 second.@Call of Flame: NOOOOO. I loved that mechanic so much. Why in the hell are you removing it =(.@Earthquake: Another buff? I don't know if that'll fix it.@Elemental Fury: I guess that SORT OF compensation, but...@I guess that's where that Wind Shear thing went (now it's a choice of mobility or interrupts for Resto, amiright?) Enhancement Improved Lava Lash now causes Lava Lash to spread a Flame Shock debuff from the target to up to 4 nearby targets. This excludes crowd-controlled targets and those who already have a Flame Shock debuff from the shaman. That's AWESOME. Improved Lava Lash no longer increases base Lava Lash damage by 15/30%. This increase has been rolled into the base Lava Lash skill. That's fine. Mental Quickness has been redesigned. Instead of granting the shaman spell power, Mental Quickness now causes Enhancement shaman spells to behave as though the shaman has spell power equal to 55% of attack power. Enhancement shaman spells no longer benefit from spell power from other sources.Eh. Restoration Ancestral Healing now also causes the shaman's heals to increase the target's maximum health by 5/10% of the amount healed, up to a maximum of 10% of the target's maximum health, for 15 seconds. This effect does not stack if multiple Restoration shaman are present, and does not apply to heals from procs. Riptide's periodic healing coefficient has been increased by 50%. The initial direct heal is unchanged.o.0Warlock Shadow Bolt has a new spell effect....That's it? D:Warrior Coming soon.Kay.
Been waiting for Divine Aegis to have a new effect.
I think they are going to rethink the NA character letter thing after all the complaining they are going to hear
Shadow Bolt has a new spell effect?Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? :OMy reaction too. =o<3Also, much love to whoever it was at Blizz HQ that suggested the no special characters in a name.
I think they are going to rethink the NA character letter thing after all the complaining they are going to hearQFMFTIt is a stupid change. And to the person above that said the accent marks are used to make hard to type names, no that is not the purpose of them, it is just a byproduct. They are used to make a name that is already taken, without changing the spelling or adding random letters at the end. Which is a valid use for a game that is 7 years old.
As always, the UI notes are always the one that interest me most. These are my favorite:
I don't believe this... So Wind Shear, being 1 of the best interrupts, is getting buffed? What is this, I don't even... And really? People look at this, and all they can complain about is accents and special characters being disallowed? I'm not too sure what the real issue is. I have made plenty of names that aren't excessively long or nonsensical, without the use of special characters. And to be honest, I'd prefer not seeing people with similar names, but with a small accent instead. I'm a "part-time" RP'er, so that could be the reason, but I really feel it detracts from the player interaction. My guild currently have 3 players with almost the same name, but with accents over different letters. Not going to name them here, but needless to say, it really get annoying when attempting to tell them apart. As for tanking, this change just further trivializes threat. Better ramp up time for vengeance (Especially in 5-mans) and more attack power base thanks to the increase in AP buffs will make gearing or speccing for threat absolutely meaningless. For DPS - maybe. But not for threat.
I don't believe this... So Wind Shear, being 1 of the best interrupts, is getting buffed? What is this, I don't even...How did you get buff out of it? Cooldown increased from 6 seconds to 25 seconds. That is 4x the cooldown it is currently.
Relevant questgivers have been moved into Outland and Northrend dungeons. The majority of dungeon quests for these zones are now available from within their respective dungeons. What a huge pity, they're making the same mistake again. The dungeon quests formed part of a whole story that was set up while questing. Seems that Blizzard are hell-bent on More XP, Less Adventure.
Thank you Blizzard for FINALLY buffing Divine Hymn! \\\\^O^// I love you so much right now. <3 <3 <3
Nothing on the Raid Finder Tool? Hmm, weird, I imagined that I'd find something about the Raid Finder Tool. Well, I hope Blizzard mentions something about it sometime soon.ZarhymYes. We're intent on getting the 4.3 Public Test Realms up potentially within the next week. :)As you mentioned, there's still a lot of work to be done on this patch, so a lot of the content will be rolled onto the test realms over time. Transmogrification, Void Storage, some balance changes, and several UI updates/improvements will likely make the PTR right away. The dungeon/raid content, legendary questline, Dungeon Finder updates, and especially Raid Finder are still very much works in-progress.
Wind Shear now has a 25-second base cooldown, up from 6 seconds.fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-------------------------------North American realms (excluding Brazilian, Latin American, and Oceanic realms) no longer permit letters with accents in character or guild names. Existing character and guild names with special characters will be unaffected by this change.OH CRAP O_O why would they do that? I hope it only applies to accents but not other special characters like ¨ and ^damn blizz /shakes angry fist.Relevant questgivers have been moved into Outland and Northrend dungeons. The majority of dungeon quests for these zones are now available from within their respective dungeons./cue fandom rejoicing =DMany Group quests in Outland and Northrend have been re-tuned to allow players to complete them solo. They are no longer labeled as Group quests.the consumated alt-o-holic in me is happy =DAll raid and party buffs which grant group members 10% increased attack power have been changed slightly. They continue to provide 10% increased ranged attack power, but now provide 20% increased melee attack power.about time! POWER TO THE PEOPLE!Veteran of the Third War now reduces the cooldown of Outbreak by 30 seconds./scratches chin............ humm interesting. Well, I guess that marks the end of diseaseless tanking.I do have my fingers crossed that they dont add any frost nerfs :S please god, dont let them nerf frost T_TWarriors Coming soon.I think either some interesting changes are coming or Blizz is just being lazy...=/ now why must you imiditetly assume they are being lazy? they are working arround the clock to prepare for blizzcon, make the largest content patch in this game's history, an expansion to starcraft, a sequel to Diablo, as well as monitoring the beta for diablo, and set up the PTR realms for 4.3............ yet you call them lazy for leaving info on your class for later?man I hope they nerf your class to hell**(just kidding, I never wish a nerf to any class)
Rogue•Coming soon. Damnit.•Guilds with inactive guild leaders can now usurp the leader under specific conditions. More information on this coming soon. I... what?=/ now why must you imiditetly assume they are being lazy? they are working arround the clock to prepare for blizzcon, make the largest content patch in this game's history, an expansion to starcraft, a sequel to Diablo, as well as monitoring the beta for diablo, and set up the PTR realms for 4.3............ yet you call them lazy for leaving info on your class for later? You do realize it's not the same development team working on all of those, right? I'll agree, however - I don't think they're being lazy, I think they have a lot on their plate and what to keep us in the dark for a little longer, for one reason or another.
New Ancestral Healing mechanic looks pretty awesome and will make crit a lot more valuable for resto shaman. The Wind Shear nerf kinda sucks though just because I usually end up interrupting when other people aren't paying attention because if stuff isn't interrupted, my job is harder.
Outland & Northrend Quest Flow * The amount of experience needed to gain levels 71 through 80 has been reduced by approximately 33%. * Many Group quests in Outland and Northrend have been re-tuned to allow players to complete them solo. They are no longer labeled as Group quests. * Relevant questgivers have been moved into Outland and Northrend dungeons. The majority of dungeon quests for these zones are now available from within their respective dungeons. This is freakin' fantastic. Just what *most* of us have been asking for ever since Cata shipped. The sad part is, I've RAFed myself, and am currently leveling (with tripel XP) 4 toons through Outland and Northrend. Then I'm going to grant 20 levels to each of my remaining 4 toons so they don't have to do Outland and Northrend. In other words, I'll be done before 4.3 hits :(Cheers.
When you talent 2/2 on reverberation (in the elemental talent tree) the cooldown is now reduced reduced by 20 sec. Though now enhancment and restoration shammys have to dig deep in the elemental talent tree to get back the old wind shear... I play as a enhancment shaman, and i think this sux big time =( Now i cant buff my self healing in the restoration talent tree because i have to use all my left over talent points on elemental!
OK, let's see...you have twenty-six letters in the English alphabet with which to make a name up to twelve letters long. So, let me do a little math here...the number of possible combinations is approximately...a pretty big honkin' number.I know. It'll just cause your poor little heart to break if you are unable to name your belf hunter Legolas, or your belf DK Edcullen, or your Tauren Pally Holycow. Tough titty. Grow some originality, and find something a little more worth QQing about.I love this change. ASCII characters annoy the crap out of me, and now I won't have to look up a bunch of stupid alt codes to armory someone.Bearing in mind, though, this is only the initial PTR release. I predict that the #$%@storm of moans and groans from the preteen RPers will cause them to rethink.
I'm all for the no-accents change, posted on us forums about it many times. They seriously screw up trying to look up people on armory, whispers etc (mind you, alt codes don't work in wow if your computer is not set to ansi-western locale). One thing surprises me though - that people will get to keep their old names. If that stays as it is, that's probably going to be the biggest grandfathering case in wow.
