My raid team and I went in to Firelands and cleared the dungeon completely last night. We aren't a hardcore raiding guild (we raid at most 9 hours a week (often less due to people stopping us with RL issues etc)) and previously we were close to finishing the Ragnaros encounter. I would consider my guild a progression based guild as we do try our hardest to get through encounters. In the end we were in the dungeon for two and a half hours and wiped on Ragnaros twice before finishing him off on our third attempt. There was no sense of accomplishment felt at all. Noone cheered. Noone smiled. We took our loot and left faster than we could. Hopefully heroic Firelands brings a little more joy and challenge despite some of the nerfs there. I am saddened that I did not get to experience heroic Firelands pre nerf.I can understand Blizzard trying to maintain their playerbase as any good company does and I realise that progression players are less likely to be found than non-progression players and by that note they should appease the majority. I disagree with Firelands being nerfed twice so rapidly.I disagree with the notion of players being able to play terribly and still kill some of the bosses in content. Long ago were the days of heroic 5 man dungeons being challenging, not just due to gear but to many nerfs applied to various difficult bosses in these dungeons. There are still people wiping in 346 dungeons because they refuse to adapt or play their role properly.I agree with the nerf applied to BWD and BoT around the same time that Firelands was released because that gave people a chance to see the encounters. The new dungeons are not out any time soon and the current raiding tier received a substantial nerf. I think the timing on the previous tier was good. This one.. not so good. Now before anyone goes out and says "get a life" or "do something else in the game" I am like everyone else. I do what I find enjoyable. Challenging raid content with my mates is what I enjoy. If the state of the game continues to be dumbed down the way it is being then there won't be any point playing for me. I am sorry to the casual player who does not try to optimise their character for raiding and they feel like they can be under hit cap or in ilvl 333 gear with the attitude that that is acceptable. I feel sorry for the 9 or 24 other people that have to pick up their game just to carry you through the dungeon so that you can get a purple item that is not going to help you because you refuse to perform your role properly. If only that same "I do what I want" attitude applied to the real world and worked. I do not think it'd be fair to say that "I took too long". I don't play the content for the race against other people. I play for the team work and challenge.Don't think that people will cease to complain that Firelands is too hard anymore, either. There will always be those guys.
TBH, the nerf was was a good idea. But they just nerfed it too hard. IMO, it should of been a reverse to the ICC buffs. Start at 5% nerf to everything accros the board and increase it by 5% every two weeks or so untill they reach a cap.Again, the nerf idea WAS a good idea. Just not so strongly next time.
I am in a very casual raiding guild, we were 2/7, some of us just couldn't get the mechanics down. But tonight I ran with my alts guild using my main. we easily clear 6/7, then just got tired. I think the nerf was good, but too much at once. It was like Blizzard saying, "We're going to hit you with this nerf bat" and when in reality it was only to be a metal bat with nerf written on it.
At first i was like :D.But then i was like :(.Bosses we still had some trouble with last week, were so easy we decided to go with 2 instead of 3 healers.I actually got bored on Beth'ilac and Alysrazor since the adds died so fast.I cried a little when i saw people /dance mid fight. On the other hand it's going to be easy doing alt-runs.I'll finaly get to gear my Paladin :P
