I don't have a problem with this, but it really doesn't seem necessary. A new patch immediately gives access to better gear, so we naturally become stronger and older raids become easier. It just... I don't know. Do raid guilds that haven't finished a tier feel frustrated when a new raid is announced? Personally, as long as I had fun and my guild experienced some form of accomplishment during the raid tier, I couldn't care less if we cleared the content or not.
Sounds like you have a lot more time on your hands than the rest of us. Many people don't get to sit at their computers as much as you probably do. My guild hasn't killed Ragnaros yet, but that doesn't mean we won't. Some people are just more dedicated than others, pure and simple.
I have never been more annoyed! all you people do is complain! Most of the good players have already completed the instance! its just farming now! so if they nerf it who cares! now a wider varity of player types can do it! If u dont like the game its as simple as not playing it! NO ONE IS FORCING U TO PLAY!
If a preview was available for the next raid (bosses, type of loot etc) this would be easier to take.Just doing a direct nerf is so going to cause an unnecessary QQ from some players

You'll get info on Thursday since there was a press event last Tuesday and the NDA lifts at midnight PST Thursday with interviews and info on the raid and 5 mans.
This is a good move. For all those whiners about Casuals, Firelands has one of the lowest clearance rates of a raid in a long time. While you may think it's great to have returned to the 'old school, hard days', clearly this is not working for the masses. There are shortages of some classes (we have healer and lock shortages on my server), and good guilds are struggling to get 4/7 on farmable content. The dynamics changed when they bought in Guild perks and now, instead of having numerous guilds giving it a red hot go, you're down to a dozen maybe, per server. Which, in turn, limits the amount of people getting gear and exposure to higher end raiding. If people can't down content in a way that makes them feel that their hard work and effort is being rewarded, they will quit. Those who are on hardmodes, have been there, done that, got the legendary. For the rest (and I believe the figure is around 80%), making Firelands this difficult has only served to alienate the majority. It's the majority that carry the game - they pay the most in subscriptions, they are attempting stuff more and, from that, they contribute the greatest to the economy.'For the greater good' is something Blizzard walked away from for a while, trying to make the 'hardcores' happy - and look where it got them? Dropping subscriptions, discontent amongst the masses... I suggest it may even be too late for them to recover from this. Ror many, the damage is done and they've gone to 'greener pastures'. You may disagree, but there's no point being 'hardcore' when you're the only ones left....
Everyone so far seems to have a pretty strong opinion one way or the other. I don't really care if they nerf it or not. It's just a game. If it stops being fun for you, do what almost a million other people have already done and go find a game you like better. But if someone held a gun to my head and said pick nerf or no nerf, I guess I'd go with the nerf. Here's my reasoning. The hardcores have had their shot at Firelands. The ones who have what it takes to clear it at its current difficulty are already farming it and the rest probably can't clear it until it's nerfed anyway. I realize they don't care to admit that, but whatever. So go ahead and give the casuals a chance. I made a decision when Cata released that raiding wasn't going to be a full time job for me any more, so it'll be nice to see Firelands content without having to devote the next 6 months of my life to it. But if I never get to see Firelands, oh well. Like I said it's a game, missing a bit of it here and there won't kill me.
You know what, Firelands has been out for 3 months. We've made good progress and are 3/7H in 25 man in our 3-night per week progression focused but not overly hardcore guild. Downing more bosses is fun, I'm sure it will take at least -some- amount of work to down the fights we haven't done yet. Getting more gear is fun. Meh, so what. We had 3 months of the raid being as hard as we wanted it to be. Go ahead and nerf it, it's really not a huge crying deal.
IMHO i feel that nerfing current content is only going to upset serious raiders, the idea behind the nerf was to let new people experience it, and I believe that nerfing the normal difficulty could accomplish that. Another viable option blizzard could have opted into was to have a optional nerf bat; similar to disabling the icc buff, so if you wanted the difficult raid, you had an opt-in for it. Either way, since activision sunk its claws into wow, they have been doing some pretty stupid s***...
Maybe they are doing that by wrapping up Failaclysm and going back to the Wrath model that worked?Ahahaha, oh man, this sentence just made my night. It's not that I disagree, it's just that a year ago everyone was talking about how much the Wrath model sucked and how it made everything too easy, people were praising the increased difficulty that Cataclysm was going to bring, this was going to be the revival of the good old days of super-challenging Vanilla and BC raids. Oh, how times have changed.I'm honestly curious, what is it about Cata that hasn't met with your standards, and what was it about Wrath that made it work? And yes, I'm looking for a serious answer here, I have my own perspective on the issue but want to hear what other people have to say.
id reaaaally hate if blizard were to release 4.3 before march 2012
WHEN WILL NON-CASTERS GET THE STAFF?Really, all I care about...

I foresee another subscriber drop from people who are fed up with this./target Angry Player/bye
I understand why they would want to do this, it just seems abit to early for nerfs though when 4.3 isnt even on ptr yet. It probelly be better if it was just normal modes and leave the heroic modes how they are till abit nearer the release date for 4.3 maybe.
Heroic modes should be hard, normals' should be puggable.Nerfing normals 3 months after release? No problems, if you havent cleared 7/7 by now you weren't going to anyway.Nerfing Heroic modes? Criminal. They are supposed to be hard, if you keep wiping on 5% its because your not good enough to kill it, either get better or gear up a bit more and try again, in the next patch you can come back in a higher tier set and do them anyway, they do not need to be, and should not be nerfed imho.If they have realised that 7 bosses was not enough for a patch designed to last 6 months and are trying to "extend" it to 14 for the greater community by nerfing the heroic modes, i can see kind of where they are coming from, but at the same time I disagree with it, let the hardmodes be hard until the next patch, and by way of making them easier people will come back to them in better gear, no need to nerf them. They didnt nerf the T11 hc's, so why nerf the T12's? Ah thats right.... 7 bosses....
Good lord people, Blizzard is damned if they do and damned if they don't with you guys. "I can't get further in Firelands, its too hard!" So they nerf it a bit for you. "NO! You can't nerf it because only the top elite should be able to go through Firelands!" Its like every single thing they do they upset you. Stop complaining and get a grip. You want to be angry? Aim your anger at the players who are whining for nerfs and whining for increased difficulty. Blizzard does what the people want. Don't go after Blizz just because they're the only target you see.I'll have to agree.Re; Firelands, though: I just don't see how it could possibly be out by October 12. Like Ashelia said, it sounds very, very unlikely. Normally, they do about a month of PTR at least, and we haven't seen all that much of 4.3 yet, to be honest, so I wonder what this means.
your smoking crack people are leaving becouse there isnt anything to do thats possible to do. what i mean by that is simple on silver hand the best guild is 2/7 herioc there not getting any further and the guilds that are stuck on normals aren't getting any further either. concidering that only 7 guilds in the us have beaten 7/7 herioc its way past time to nerf it. hell im hoping they nerf the tier 11 content be nice to get through it too. if you dont like nerfs give us that buff that icc had make us uber powerful so we can just trash them and get some good loot.adding a new raid isnt going to bring anyone back they need real content added not just 5 more bosses to waste time on tell 5.0 comes out. everyone not just raiders are at end game and now everyone besides the raiders is really out of stuff to do at least raiders have something to look forward too what about the rest
Why not a buff like they gave in ICC? Raiders could click off the buff and experience the content at its original difficulty or they could keep the buff and breeze through content. But damn, don't nerf current content, Blizzard. It's just wrong.

Don't go after Blizz just because they're the only target you see.This. I feel like this so much anymore whenever I read any WoW-related forums. But I would like to say: I have no problem with nerfs when they're due, but one thing that bothers me is how they're handled (the same goes for class buffs and nerfs). I don't like how they're consistently done with an almost arbitrary "round" number; i.e. this ability's damage is being buffed/nerfed by 10% or this boss's health is being nerfed by 5%. It just doesn't seem right to me that these "round" numbers are used to better tune/balance the game. I would like to see more: e.g. this ability's damage is being buffed/nerfed by 2.89% or this boss's health is being nerfed by 3.63%; particularly with the larger and larger numbers that we've begun to see. Also: normal modes, cool, but don't nerf hard-modes. They're supposed to be hard. People don't need to see hard-modes. I'm a casual (albeit, I'd like to think, a good casual) and I would like to see current content, but I don't ever expect to see hard modes 'til the next x-pac.
