It already takes ages to get the staff (if the guild is not killing more thane 3-5 bosses per week) in a 10 man Guild. :(
I'm not really into heroic firelands as of now, but I don't think itll hurt too much. if you've killed him on H good for you but if blizz wants a few more to down him before 4.3 i say let them. I also wouldn't call this catering to the casuals. If your a casual, your probably not on heroic ragnaros to be honest.

All this QQing on these forums and official boards....there is a distinct difference between "killable" (37 guilds did it, It MUST be doable, amirite?) and "overtuned." So much of the QQ is from people who havent seen him, and frankly ironic since these are the same people who wouldnt have gotten past the other bosses if they werent nerfed already. (im looking at you Ryolith) I think everyone who had been putting in the hours working on Rag saw this coming.... we knew he was going to be nerfed. Is this a substantial one? Yes... it buys you a few minutes at the end, and makes transitions easier. (Also, remember he does Heal back up as well.... so lower HP is less healed back up.)He's more forgiving on raid comps now, and not to mention doesn't require that 'luck' on pulls. So many guilds who have killed him hadn't repeated the kill... is he a pushover now? No. We only spent 1 hour on him last night (been working on him for 3 weeks) and and just comparing that hour to our previous nights on him, he is a bit easier (for anything just Phase Transitions) with the lower HP . (In fact, he will take some tweaking as we transition at different times than we usually do, so it throws off our trap triggering, etc.. etc...So before people just scream: OMG YOU NERFED THE HARDEST BOSS IN CONTENT RIGHT NOW. BUT HE WAS ALREADY KILLABLE! LAME! Think about the difference between killable and overtuned.

So essecencially you can continue to challange yourself by underhealing fight and burn him down really fast to victory. Or you can now 5 or 6 heal it and heal your way to victory now with far less stress, and still have an easier dps check then you had before

RANDOM LOW DROP RATE IS RANDOM. Now with lucky, I will start my Legendary in the next 3 years.
First off, never seen Heroic Raggy...and I probably never will. But I do see the point of a nerf. If you have (just pulling numbers outa my rear) 37 guilds downing him, but 3000 guilds stuck at 6/7, there is probably an issue. If a guild is good enough to get to 6/7 Heroic, they are not a baddie guild. But if they end up stuck at that point, for week, after week, after week....the fight needs to be detuned. Now, the issue is, will it be "overnerfed"?. Considering that it is the final encounter in current content, it still needs to be one hell of a fight.
To the people getting angry: How does this change effect you in a negative way? The world firsts are long over, and raiding isn't (and never has been) a competition.
This is stupid. Imo you dumb down encounters when a new one comes out. Nerf this tier when 4.3 comes out. It ruins a hard core raiders sense of accomplishment.This tiers motto will become like ICC's moto. "And now you to can raid"

First i'm a feral druid.Lowering the droprate on the legendary staff pieces is "Pants on head retarded"so now, the people in the "world first" and etc guilds get an easier time getting the legendary, because they get more vosses down at a time PLUS higher drops. and when i read "lower chance on 25 man" thats GOOD. its stupid that 10 man guilds feel they have to transition up to 25 man in order to be competitive making the legendary staff. its supposed to be viable to make in both 10 and 25.

The droprate was reduced, as seen tonight in our raid when we got an extremely low amount of essences.I hope this is only changed on 25man/25heroic version of firelands.. couse on 10man mode it already sucks.For a normal guild which does 7/7 normal firelands it takes so long to even complete 1 staff, just look at numbers(I assume 100% drop rate, but its lower than this):1st part: 25 elements, bosses drop 1, so 25 bosses for 1st part, 25 / 7 bosses per week = ~4 weeks to complete2nd part: 1000cinders, bosses drop around ~20 parts, so 1000/20 = 50 , 50 /7 bosses per week =~8 weeks3rd part: 250 essences, bosses drop around 3 per kill, so 250/3 = 83, 83 / 7 = ~12 weeksin total, thats 24 weeks, 24/4 = 6 months to get legendary staff from firelands 10 man mode, and thats only if you are so lucky and always gets drop maximum amount of quest items.Rly blizz?You really want us to farm firelands even when 4.3 comes?This is what upset me so much reading that 25 man gets 2.5x drops for the legendary quest. it should be 25 man gets 1.5x AT MOST. its bull that 10 man raids get so screwed over for the legendary.

Considering even Paragon flubbed the fight up about 8 times, probably more, on their live raid (and this being Blizz) I can't say the nerf is unexpected.The drop rate one is kinda wonky though, usually the rates go up not down but I guess they want to increase the rarity of it or something? I don't know how Blizzards mind works.

Heroic Rag should not get nerfed until 4.3. It really is too bad Blizz did this. Nerfing heroic raids before the next tier is out makes no sense. It's supposed to be the challenging aspect of the expansion. Nerfing regular raids so that more people can experience the content is fine. Nerfing heroics....I disagree with.
