Could look like this.
Pitmaster Pei = Pandaren. Calling it now.
I'm uber-duper excited. But. I. Will. Be. Beyond. Pissed. If. Darkmoon. Faire. Reputation. Becomes. Easy.
I enjoy my unique items. You could say I strive for them, even. I spend a great deal of time (past and present) to acquire these items, when not many other people do. That being said, I really enjoy having my full Darkmantle set, with matching shirt, cloak, and even weapons, ready to xmog. I don't know of any other rogue on my faction on my server that has it.Now, this next part is my opinion. I really dislike that Blizzard brings back old items for any joe to get. I feel that if a player wanted them, he/she would have saved them, as I did. I understand the wants of casual and semi-casual players, but I feel that sometimes they're rewarded too much. I worked my behind off to get my original Darkmantle, to be unique, and now it seems like any rogue that wants it could get it. On a related topic, I feel the same way about Loremaster, I was one of the few that thought the title should have been removed in Cata or atleast a new title could have replaced it for the people who hadn't gotten the original.Oh well...Or they simply had to delete them or sell them due to running out of bank space, such as I had to do. No one loses out on people being able to obtain the items, and if you feel you do, you need to stop getting your jollies from saying "Ha, I have this and you don't!" I enjoy my mounts and armor that I hold onto for myself, not for other people. I absolutely adore flying around on my Drake of the West Wind, particularly in shadow. Whenever I see someone else with it, I don't go "Grrr, this is my drake!" nor do I do the same when I see someone with a Bloodbathed Frostbrood Vanquisher flying around who got it at 85. Items are there to be enjoyed, there's no sense in getting irritated over something that other people can now enjoy more easily. I, quite frankly, got bored of my Vanquisher very quickly so it's nice that other people can now enjoy it.TL;DR Share the love.Anyway! Back to my original comment: I was interested in this up until I saw this still had the weeklong limitation. I was hoping with the advent of this change to the fair it would be available all the time, and I wouldn't feel obligated to visit it only when it's around.
As excited and happy as I am, the new items only add to my impossibly large list of things to do.
FINALLY! I'm so glad that the Darkmoon Faire is finally being updated and making a comeback after all of these years!
Eeeeek! I am so looking forward to this! I remember when I first started to play, and I only had a low level tauren. I loved when the darkmoon fair would come to Mulgore-it gave me an excuse to escape the barrens and go play with some tonks, and crash in the lake so many times my hooves started to go numb. I started to get bored during wrath and cata of the fair (didn't play in bc), so I just haven't gone. Now, with mounts (I'm a collector) pets, a chance to get sets I never got in vanilla because I was too lazy, plus tons of fun little games, I am eagerly awaiting the new patch! Something to do besides grind out heroics and collect achievements! I just really hope that it doesn't become incredibly hard to get rep and tickets, and I really hope that it doesn't take 2-3 months to get my heirloom pants and mount.
finally a revamp on darkmoon fair
Could be very very very interesting. Can someone link me to the vanity items/pets that will be introduced?
No more boring Darkmoon Faire, I'm quite excited for this since my realm is called Darkmoon Faire too :). Bring it on Blizzard! :D
finally a revamp on darkmoon fairYep, exactly. I personally didn't care as long as they gave us some sort of "fun" content we could do over and over. Hopefully, Blizzard implements this here (looks like it).
Sounds pretty cool. I've never bothered with dmf but sounds like it has a lot of potential to be pretty fun. I'm guessing there will be a lot more to the island than the fair itself, since a new zone is being made for it and the whole "dont go wondering off" part. Also, the ability to earn 5 skill points per week in a profession sounds like you'll be able to quest on the island regardless if the fair is open or not. I can't be sure, but 5 skill points for 1 week every month wouldn't make a lot of sense.I'm really hoping that since "long lost armor sets" were mentioned D2 sets will be available for purchase, or even if the old quests themselves were put back in. I farmed the whole Dreadmist set for my lock at 80 and never got around to making a full upgrade to Deathmist, and was disappointed when I started playing cata and found out the upgrade quests (among many other cool vanilla quests) were removed. Naxx 60 gear would be cool too but personally (forgive my blasphemy) I think a lot of the recolored Naxx 80 sets look just as good, it's mostly personal preference when it comes to the coloring.
I soooo want that grand prize!Anyonne else want it? xD
Lets all go to the fair /cheerThis actually makes Darkmoon Faire look amazing now.
Nice. Now it's going to be a real faire.
>Long lost armor sets brought backSo in theory, this means that the following sets may be making a comeback:-D1/D2-T3-Scourge event armor-ZG set-S3 armorMy body is ready.Im a little torn on this aspect (or assumtion). I had somewhat hoped that these sets would only be "returned" to the game, to players who had them before, and destroyed them. It looks now as if they are going to be avaliable to all. Considering that these items are vanity only, it would have been a nice way to "reward" veteran players with something that would let them stand out, without actually affecting the overall gameplay.
