Whoa whoa whoa now hold the phone.....we are almost done with Cata already?
Soooo... Armor customization that allows you to put together statistics of an item with a look of different item? Sounds like Guild Wars 2 to me but why not, Paladin T6 is the best Pally set anyway. No; you are just reskinning the armour, not actually upgrading the T6 into T12.To use Transmogrification, would you need the gear/set you want to change into in you bags/bank to use that items model or would there be a long list of possible items?Right so, to edit your gear, e.g. making t12 look like t2, do you actually need to own t2?As said multiple times: Yes you need the original gear in your bag in addition to the piece you want to reskin. At some future point, there may be a list added in for sets that are removed/unobtainable.
I usually get rid of my old tier, because I won't use it.... glad the new tier is at least sellable, but it'll be nice to be able to change gear looks for the people who don't like the look of their current sets!. I'm glad to be a hunter though, as they usually get some pretty sweet lookiing gear!
I bet all my justice points that this won't be the last 4.x.x patch. The last will be 4.4.x, which will be about N'Zoth.
Like said, it looks like Blizzard is gearing up 4.3 to become one of the most epic patches to date. I am still worried though - with all these new additions, how will the overall quality fare? I don't think WoW would do good with another patch not very well recieved by its players. The dungeons need to feel fresh, and the Deathwing-raid needs to be epic. I don't doubt that they can do it, however. Anyway, regarding Starcraft II: Heart of the SwarmIMMA UPGRADE MAH ZERGLINGS! WAAAARGH!. Hyped.
Whoa whoa whoa now hold the phone.....we are almost done with Cata already?I doubt it.
does this also work for pvp gear?
does this also work for pvp gear?More then likely; long as you have the gear.
I see cataclysm will least not so long. I hoped it to take more time until the next expansion. Anyways, it hadn't even made aniversary *-*
And the patch isn't even on the PTR yet so.....
you know no offense to blizz but their early gear designs really were the best
cant wait to bring back my hunters marshal set after all the time i spent getting it its such a shame for it to just sit in my bank
you know i thought that to but remember how fast illidan was released?
i doubt it old gods go better before the big boss not after
Does anyone else feel like this Transmogrifying business just cheapens WoW a bit? Not trying to be critical, I just dont know if i like the idea that we're going to be hunting down items even more purely for stats now. I realize everyone wants to wear the best looking set for their class and not the dismal later sets, and no doubt Blizz is sick of the complaining about the later sets which may be involved in this decision, but since everyone is going to go for the best looking set of each class aren't we just going to end up with ten thousand copies? Also this is going to make checking the equipment on group members more difficult and you wont be able to visually identify the weapon and armor of opponents in battlegrounds and arenas. As far as Deathwing goes I expect we will see N'Zoth after him. Remember that Deathwing is only an agent of the Old Gods. N'Zoth in particular. Like the game designer said "We still haven't meet who signs Deathwings paychecks". My guess is, sadly, we kill Deathwing and rouse the real baddie to fight. Personally sad to see DW go, such a great recurring villain. Although we have to make room for Thrall to become the Earth Aspect... apparently.. Plus N'Zoth is the perfect tie-in for Ahn'Qiraj; the Fallen Kingdom.
I think Transmogrifying is a good first step ..but I would like to see this eventually lead towards total armor customization. Perhaps even as a new profession.
One things that really concerns me with regard to the cross realm raids, aside from the obvious question of difficulty in dealing with a cross realm pug is how the loot rules will work. If it only uses the same Need/Greed system that the current LFG system uses I think the kind of abuse that we might see is rather obvious: Ret pallies rolling on tank gear, Enhan Shaman rolling on healing gear, everyone hitting need on a BOE when someone actually wants to equip it (iirc they did something to correct this last one recently, but I still suspect there will be room for abuse). And of course what all this stems from is the same mentality that creates this behavior in LFG pugs: that people will likely never see the people in the pug again so there is no incentive to behave. If I ninja a BOE as raid leader on my server people will flame me in trade, and it will look really bad for my guild (esp since I am GM)... I'm not saying that this is a bad idea but I think the implementation is going to have to be more complex than the LFG system or the raid pugs could get really bad....
I bet all my justice points that this won't be the last 4.x.x patch. The last will be 4.4.x, which will be about N'Zoth.Considering he hasn't been so much as mentioned by name ingame, I've got a feeling Blizzard is setting up N'Zoth to encompass more then one expansion. It's a pretty common practice really, Arthas for example was used as a villain as early as WC3, yet didn't get what was coming to him until the end of the 2nd WoW expansion.Blizzard admitted it was a mistake to have Illidan pushed as the antagonist of BC yet not be the final boss. I doubt they'd repeat that mistake with Cataclysm. We could still see things like Ruby Sanctum or the Gnomeregan/Echo Isles events in the future, but they'll be closer related to expansion 4 then Cataclysm.
Sooo instead of giving us real customization options: personal armor colour choices, character body frame options, etc, we get....recycled models! Again! Good job Blizz, don't make it too obvious you're ready to roll over and die when Guild Wars 2, SW:TOR and other MMORPG's come out.

Good job Blizz, don't make it too obvious you're ready to roll over and die when Guild Wars 2, SW:TOR and other MMORPG's come out.I'm speechless, really. When Blizzard gives you customization options, you complain about that what you're getting isn't good enough and that you want something else? You realize that the vast majority of the WoW community is very pleased about Transmogrification and what we've heard of it so far, right? So either you're very good at telling what will kill the game and everyone that disagrees with you is wrong, or you are acting stupidly because you didn't get what you think you should get. And as for GW2 and SW:TOR, you know that it's been said a 100 times before that the next big title will kill World of Warcraft, yes?
