Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of World of Warcraft players around the world who purchased the Cenarion Hatchling pet, we’ve raised a total of more than $1.9 million USD to support the ongoing earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan. In May, we announced that for every Cenarion Hatchling purchased by July 31, 2011, 100% of the $10 USD adoption fee would be going to assist victims of this disaster -- and the community responded by opening up their hearts and wallets wide. Thanks again for your support and for helping to make an impact on the lives of those affected by these events.

So good players play to impress people who don't know the difference between a pre-nerf and a post-nerf kill? Is that the logic, here? That's like saying I'm getting a college degree to show it off to second graders.
This isn't surprising at all. WoW sucks now as all it is is a game based on how much you can play in a day. If you can play 16 hours a day you will have great gear and be strong. If you have a job, family and life you will not do so well in this game. PVP is more unbalanced as it has ever been and the bugs are ridiculous. They are only making money because morons are buying $30 mounts. I left this game months ago and don't regret it.
Wow used to be like the job i looked forward to and has degenerated into the repetitive boring job i keep going to just to pay the bills. Besides the 17 dailies i feel are worth doing each day and becoming conq capped on weekly reset....nothing really left to do. Making alts i guess but your just doing the same thing again just on someone else. I believe wow is fading fast. Im just 1 guy, but i think blizz honestly doesnt care about content at all, so long as we buy the overpriced pets and mounts in shop, and keep that 15 buck a month payment the game can tank for all they care. Its all about the income they can make now. And its all they care about. The days of talking to people and seeing GM's in game with the blue robes are over long ago. Its just re-doing old crap and old lore. Half-assing the players.
Then stop playing?
That's my point. Even the stuff that used to be the break from grinding dungeons is now accomplished by grinding dungeons. Rep grinds, and finding rare mounts and pets (for tanks only, of course) are accomplished through LFD.
I'm not surprised that blizz lost these people. The current armor models look horrid and the lore has disgusted many fans like myself. I recently looked at some free online game's character armor models and they are "cooler" than any cata model. You see, many players are letting blizzard get away with reusing overused models. Blizz just needs to slap some spikes on it and change the color. I believe that better lore, better models, better skins and better community is what blizz owes all of its subscribers because we pay all this money. I look the other day and humans still only have one short haircut. Its been like over 6 years and blizz still hasn't made enough hair choices. If blizz stops trolling us then they will make more money. The person(s) that assigns icons to abilities and armor is a huge troll. Shadowmourne has a unique icon for it but it uses the same icon as the ICC one hand axe. Blizz even use cloth item icons for plate items. The other day i look at stormwind and it is worse made than stratholme COT. The ally city is not even 3 stories high. We should all boycott this game until blizz makes this game has better lore and better employees that make items.
Perhaps if Blizzard actually hired the millions of unemployed yet talented people in the U.S. to help develop the game, then maybe just maybe we would have something great. When you steal tiny bits of ideas from your customer base, yet implement what a table full of south park mage type geeks want in the game, the result is a skewed extreme mmo. Super hard raiding alongside super easy questing...yeah. I believe it's time for blizzard to get back into the business of making a good game vs going to other games when they run out of ideas.
