Ohh yes... I'm so tired of ZA/ZGs for my VP cap. Our guild is stuck in Summer Blues (jobs are eating our healers) so we've been traipsing through the old raids to at least do SOMETHING. Good to see we'll get a little bit of VP for it. :)
The VP change-back only makes sense. I give Blizzard credit for recognizing a clear error and rectifying it. Now if only they hadn't done it in the first place and then tried to justify it to us ...
Woot! Thank goodness for the Valor change! While I'm sure we'll hear the normal whines about casuals, bads et al, I have noticed a significant issue when they disappeared. There was an assumption by many that, if you'd finished t11 on Normal, you could walk in and do t12 on Normal straight away. So why is it so many groups are failing? Sure, there are always exceptions, but I'm not talking about the top 5-10% here. If raid content and progression for 80% of people suddenly grinds to a halt and they feel obligated to run Zandoms (which I personally detest), you've done it wrong and it should be changed. There are still good upgrades for people in t11 content but suddenly, the opinion was it wasn't worth doing. JP's can't buy you many slots of gear (I'm thinking bracers, helm, shoulders), but if you can't get a t11 run, where do you go? And no, people shouldn't feel pressured into spending 10-20k on VP bracers :\\For people who enjoy raiding and don't enjoy or have the time to grind dungeons, this will be a blessing. Further, it makes you feel like you can go back and mix things up a little - and that is what the game should be offering :D
The kids just love playing vigilante internet rebel. If Swifty hadn't posted his video and told everyone about his ban and instead talked privately with a gm, in all likelyhood, he would have gotten his ban removed and that would be the end of it. The petitions and server raid by his fans/players who heard about it on battleground chat just made things more complicated and frustrating for the game moderators to deal with.
I approve of the change, as there are still upgrades for most of us in T11, but without those raids dropping VP there were very few PuGs forming for it. Now it's a viable path to getting some, but not all (as it should be) VP for the week AND upgrades, AND meet new people/make new friends instead of the typical LFD groups.
And suddenly hackers don't need to pay a month for hacked trial accounts anymore...
Curious about all the upheavel on this Swifty guy, I watched the vid and did some googling - and I'm still none the wiser. Something about a giveaway with lvl 1 toons and some Zybork guy being the actual culprit........ eh? So, could anyone please explain to me who this guy is, what he's done to crash the server (and why he'd do that) and what all the commotion is about? Because all I see is opinions and no explanations or recaps of the actual event.
Ugh, thank goodness about the VP change. I was getting really tired of playing twice as much for like half the VP, and emerging with nothing but a few enchanting mats. And no one (PUGs or friends) wanted to run with my alts who could actually use the gear because people are more interested in a speed VP run than gearing up. SO glad there's another option now.
Now if they would just give us back our 10 and 25 individual raid lock outs. I mean there IS a VP point cap, so I can't earn more than the socialized maximum allowed per week. Much hate for the ZA run, forcing chain pulling since the iLVL 365 DPS don't want to wait for aggro or anything, just want their VP as fast as possible.
