I kill dragons....and more than occasionally punt gnomes...unfortunately i know nothing about web design....think 2 out of 3 will land me the job?
Still giving out Emblem of Awesomeness for it eh? =D
So long as you're allowed to make any user browsing the website on I.E. suggest they upgrade their browser and link them to Firefox.
Now I wish that I'd persisted in my path of web design back in college.
Ashelia,Wowhead is THE BOMB.You deserve the very best to keep this excellent site up and running to the best of it's potential. I really don't know what I'd do without it. I come here looking up stuff all the time.Cheers.
I'm good with Photoshop, but don't know coding very well. Can I help somehow, even if not as a job? For science? You raid bosses.
I'm more of a database person rather than web designer, unfortunately. Maybe next time!
I'm more of a database person rather than web designer, unfortunately. Maybe next time!Happy 6,000th post ^
If I even had half those skills... man that would be great. I'm still stuck with the basics. Best of luck getting someone, shouldn't take long to be sure.
I'm more of a database person rather than web designer, unfortunately. Maybe next time!Same =/GL too all applicantsHat
I'm more of a database person rather than web designer, unfortunately. Maybe next time!Congratulations on 6k.
Ouch. Unfortunately full time.Otherwise I meet all the requirements, 2 of the big plusses, and several of the plusses.Grr. *sob*
Ouch. Unfortunately full time.Otherwise I meet all the requirements, 2 of the big plusses, and several of the plusses.Grr. *sob*I would recommend you still apply. I am not privy to the admins' secrets, but it would make sense for exceptional applicants to receive some... accommodations if needed :)@Liquoid, you could volunteer to do some work for us. A lot of the content that appears on Wowhead is done by volunteers, myself included. And while there isn't as much graphical work, I sure as hell have wished that I could have an extra Photoshop guru when our paid artists are busy with work more important than what I need them for. Catch me on IRC sometime?
Damn it. Couldn't you guys have waited till I do my course to post this ad?
Do you need a designer or a developer (title says designer, but the text says developer)?I am fluent with PHP/MySQL, fluent with (X)HTML & CSS3 and an expert (not quite fluent) with JQ/JS.. I can turn a PSD (also an expert with Photoshop, but I'm not the creative type so I don't do much in it) into W3C compliant XHTML in no time flat... but I'm not a designer by any means; I'm a developer.TL;DR- Please post more details so people with refined skills will know whether this position is for them.
I'm more of a database person rather than web designer, unfortunately. Maybe next time!Ditto, actually. Although I'm pretty good at troubleshooting web-based applications. Please post more details so people with refined skills will know this position is for themNot sure if you checked, but there is a bit more detail on the jobs page in ashelia's initial post. Might have already checked and are looking for more detail, but they do mention: Experience with C++ (send code samples) Experience with PHP web development (send code samples) Experience with relational databases (especially MySQL)To me it sounds like they're looking for a person who can do both.
Exactly, but the primary role would be web designer, so web designer skills are absolutely mandatory.
Good luck to any applicants (and perhaps to the staff?), I'm sure you'll have someone suitable in no time.
Every time I think I'm catching up in terms of web design languages, another set of letters pops up for some language I've never heard of.*sighs*I suppose I can stick to HTML/CSS and Flash/AS.
I can "web design" some cool stuff in MSpaint. I expect a large office and a busty secretary and a six digit salary by Monday. Thanks.
