Some other singular word to express how I feel! But no, this is something I could look forward to.
Awesome. Glad to see Wowhead is keeping up with the stuff Blizzard throws out.
I think that's pretty cool. It will help me when I'm put in a dungeon I haven't done, so I can check stuff just before, but I'm still coming here for detailed boss fights ;)
I read the articles here first, then watch the Tankspot vids. I prefer text and vids for strategies.
But for text, just the transcribed version of Asheila's posts seem much more useful. I personally really like L2R videos, but they can tend to assume a skill/DPS level the person watching them just might not have.
this reminds me of atlas loot except for the addition of the story for the dungeons. But it does sound good oneless headache of a add on for curse
I don't think it's going to make encounters any easier; just easier to dissect after you wipe. It will also make learning them less of a headache. But we all know that until you experience something you can read the best review or the best description and not be as prepared as actually doing it.It's a really neat addition. I just hope that you guys will leave the fight tactics intact and not simply replace them with the encounter tab. It's nice for us to be able to choose just how much of any given boss fight we care to understand before attempting it.I'm especially looking forward to the atlasloot-type feature of the journal. It will save linking gear from Wowhead or an addon like Atlasloot in order to deck your character out and drool. Plus, knowing just what drops from any given boss without alt-tabbing is a bonus. ;)
I understand how this can have an impact on the very very very top raiders competing for wolrd firsts since identifying a boss' abilities, when phase transitions happen etc is all part of that competition. However, since the VAST majority of us research encounters, watch videos, read sites etc before going into a raid, I think this is a good thing to have in game. Then again, I wonder how accurate it will be after the first set of hotfixes that get put in the day after 4.2 lands (and the weeks thereafter)? Will an encounter get a hotfix, but the journal wont reflect that hotfix until a patch? I think I'll stick with the out of game sites for a while.
