Like Gillious, my favorite encounter is the Opera in Kara, although ofr an entirely different reason.I love Opera because it offers my favorite gear piece of all time, the Wicked Witch's Hat.I love going and farming Opera in the hopes that one day, all of my toons (who all have Witch in their name) will experience the joy of having the Wicked Witch's hat to do dailies in, but the fun of the encounter makes the farm all that much more enjoyable!
My above all favorite encounter was Gruul's Lair's very own High King fight. Walking into a raid with minimal trash was refreshing and the first time we saw how big the room for the encounter was we were shocked. It was such a small area to fight such a complex encounter in! Wipe after wipe it was truly gruuling (oh the sweet, sweet pun) but when we finally managed to get our coordination down it was just fantastic. I stood over the body and proudly proclaimed, "I'm a little teapot." as the loots ran rampant throughout our party.
Its definetely Yogg-saron encounter in Ulduar Raid instance! The raid is connected to a leveling zone, 5man dungeon and even to archeology profession.
Favorite Encounter, I just really have to express some love here for two in particular.First up, Cho'gall in Bastion of Twilight!Cho and Gall have always been two of my favorite heads to the same beast and it just warmed my heart when you actually see how evil Gall actually is ("To his will all flesh succumbs. From his kingdom, CHAOS COMES!"...yeah...what he said). The fight itself requires a rather intensive amount of communication for everything from getting splattered by corrupting meteors, to calling out Fire Zones, and especially when it comes to Worshiping and Tank Swaps. One false move and this encounter is OVER.Next up my heart goes out to Icecrown Citadel's Blood Queen Lana'thel. Once again, I hold this encounter close because it is mechanically intensive. From managing the exponential growth of the bites to preventing one another from exploding, this is once again one of those fights in which communication is a MUST. 25man version of this was one of the reasons I really wanted to show up for raid nights. Blizzard really tends to outdo themselves when it comes to encounters and while I did miss out on many of the older ones such as the Chess Event in Karazhan and good ol' Molten Core, I have come to see that not only have they worked hard to best what they've done in the past, they've for the most part succeeded.High hopes for Firelands! I want it to feel like I earned the new Sulfuras when Ragnaros falls!
Definitely Algalon, the added pressure of having a timer in addition to the lore consequence of not beating him was actually really cool. There was a lot of buildup to him and the fight itself was pretty unique and unforgiving. Plus his arena is cool.
I would have to say Omnitron Defense System. When you first do it its hectic and messy. After doing it a couple of times and getting stuff down to where you can solo tank and solo interrupt everything makes it a very fun encounter.
Illidan, that fight was so much fun. "You are not prepared!"
My favorite encounter would have to be Kil'jaeden <The Deceiver> in Sunwell Plateau, never got there during Burning Crusade but even doing it at 80 during LK it was an amazing design and very very fun encounter. And then the Role Play after you down the boss, that made it just amazing. Loved the mechanics of the fight and how you had to deal with it all. And not to mention the Sunwell Plateau raid was just amazing as well.
Al'aki. It's just a really unique fight and extremely fun.
I think my favourite encounter was against Prof. Putricide. I missed out on all the hype for the other WoTLK raids because I joined WoW midway through the 3rd expansion so by the time I reached 80 and began to properly learn my class and gear up ICC was beginning to be released, I managed to get into a fairly competent raiding guild and eventually they began letting me raid with them regularly as I began to prove my usefulness. Anyway I remember that Prof. Putricide was the first raid boss that anyone had ever given me any responsibility in, they instructed me to drink the potion and munch the slime pools. After a few wipes we managed to beat him and everyone (especially me) was chuffed, so I guess this was the first encounter that really got me hooked on raiding and let my guild finally accept me as a real raider. I also used to love the fact that he was so cheerful even whilst you were hacking and zapping him to bits! Eventually we went on the defeat the lich king and Im pleased to announce that Im still in said guild and were still raiding!
I'd have to say that Yogg-Saron is my favorite encounter. There's just so much going on, and getting to go inside his head was awesome. In fact my time in Ulduar was some of the best times I've had with my guild, and getting Yogg-Saron down was such hype.
My favorite encounter has to be Yogg-Saron. There was so much buildup and anticipation to facing the Old God, and when you finally reach him he doesn't disappoint! There was so much going on though the entire fight, and as an added bonus you were able to enter his mind and see how he has influenced and shaped the very world as we know it now.
For me it was Valithria Dreamwalker in Icecrown Citadel. As a healer since Burning Crusade, it was really really nice to see a fight where the healers actually have a slightly more interesting job than "heal people and avoid bad stuff". It seemed like a fight where the healers really got to get stuck in and use all their skills and abilities rather than sit there and just use the typical healer tactics the Wrath gave people.Aside from the healer side of the fight, the fight in itself is one of the few special bosses in the game where the main objective is -not- to nuke down a single target. I prefer these fights as it feels like more of a test of the groups performance rather than just a dps race like some fights are. Also from a RPG perspective, its about time we got to save some more characters rather than just killing bad guys.So Valithria is the fight for me still, a nice change of pace from regular bosses and allowing healers to get to do something new and exciting in the process.
i got to say Heigan the Unclean love watching how many ppl couldnt do the dance
