Grizzly Hills is my favorite zone, I feel really at home in the nature, all the sounds (and the music). You got forests, lakes, rivers, mountains, snow, green fields and The Biggest Tree Ever!. What more do you need? ;)
My favorite zone has to be Vashj'ir. It is the most visually appealing zone I have seen in World of Warcraft!. With all of the numerous sea creatures and old ruins. Not to mention the stunning quest chain that takes you all through the coral reefs. Its simply a beautiful zone.
Un'goro Crater has to be the best zone ever. After spending my entire childhood playing with dinosaur toys, and memorizing every line in Jurassic Park (Life will...uh...find a way), finding a zone dedicated to my favorite little critters of all time was a dream come true!
I might be in the minority in this but mine is Vashj'ir
The Barrens before the shattering because it had so many quests and was booming during the early years of WoW
Pre-Cata Azshara is the only legitimate reply to this. What Blizzard did to that zone is... unforgivable. As far as I can remember it's the only zone with fall colors, which are the best colors. Best scenery hands down.I want to go there when I die.
My favorite zone in WoW would be Shadowmoon Valley. I liked every single quest chain in the area, and since it houses one of my favorite Lore characters in the game *cough cough* Illidan *cough cough* it just made it that much cooler. I also enjoyed getting my netherwing mount and seeing how Orc paladins would look if they ever became a playable Race/Class combination.
My favourite zone is Hellfire Peninsula because of the memories attached to it. The strongest comes from back when I was still a newbie when TBC came out and my main was a paladin that had reached level 60 as TBC arrived. So, I went off to Hellfire Peninsula, not really understanding what I was doing yet, and somehow I learnt about a blue BoE world drop that dropped off a certain type of mob in Hellfire Pen (allegedly). I spent *ages* grinding for that BoE, killing the orcs it was meant to drop from and watching wowhead comments on that item like a hawk for any more info on where it might drop more reliably. It was the first time I would grind for something in wow. I didn't get the drop, but given it was my first grind I didn't mind too much - the term "grind" didn't fill me with dread as much as it does these days!
My favorite zone has to be Storm Peaks. This could be because of all the time I have lost attempting to capture a certain mount. There is a lot of great story to the area and it is always exciting to fly around.
My favorite zone as of recently is the Echo Isles while leveling my goblin. Amongst the shenanigans of the Goblin quests, the music and the utterly amazing environment and detail was amazing, I loved it!
I have to say my favorite zone is definately Nagrand, I love the peaceful spirit it has and the quests there are nice and relaxing to do. I also like the flying mountants very much :] The "boss quests" are also very fun :D
my favorite zone is the western plague lands. before cataclysm and after. it has the most to do with stratholme. the dungeon was well put together and a great cherry for the area as a whole. just the idea that through out this twisted, defiled, and diseased landscape there are pockets of Resistance and beauty. the earthen ring druids show it best when the tauren druid frustrated and angry makes a small sprout grow. the night elf druid shows excitement at what should be simple feat made more amazing by the comparison to the rest of the miasma around. my first six runs of strat yeilded nothing but the seventh ended with my group making the timer and taking down the baron. no mount but no less an exciting and impressive achievement for a lvl 55 night elf rogue. the changes were nice too, but nothing will remove my original excitement at entering and leaving the western plaguelands way back in year one of burning crusade. even though it was deserted content the most rewarding and story creating area.
I have many, but if it is about the most epic, then it is Hellfire Peninsula. The first time I've entered the hellish gate, I saw a twisted and shattered world. The skys teared apart and only hold together with a wierd magical bond which seems to cover the entire shard, but not the planets and dark magics which are around this shard. The lifeless earth spits out pure fire like a deep wound bleeding. The sound of the netherwind sounds like thousands of lost and tortured souls that are crying for mercy and release. The warm air with awkward cold winds smells like rotting flesh, blood and foul earth, the scent of demons is burning in the eyes. The ruins of the old days, the days, when the orcs slain most of the draenei people and the alliance fought the horde back into their last strongholds are impressive, but have been reinforced with twisted fel orcs and demons. The presence of the demons... it feels like the legion is about to break my mind, my body and my soul, the dark magic whispers to me... my blood freezes, my heart beats faster and i know...I'm going to die here. This is a war that cannot be stopped... that no one can stop... that will end... with our deaths.
my Favorite zone has to be Uldum, its unique i love the architecture there, and the quests are engaging and fun, i really like the Harrison Jones questlines, and i like all the little cut scenes to me they put you even more into the story.
Kind of out there, but i really enjoyed the atmosphere in Deepholm. The tense struggle of the Earthen Ring trying to seal the rift of Deathwing while trying to maintain diplomacy with Therazine on top of dealing with the Twilight's Hammer >.<
I tend to like most of the zones in the game for their own reasons, but Nagrand has always captured my heart. The multiple moons, the stars reflecting in the lakes, sitting atop a floating island and pretending to claim it for your own... I loved every bit of it. I still visit from time to time, even if only to fly around on my Netherdrake.
My favorite Place is Desolace both old and new. Not much out there but there was a lot of story behind that place. Plus old rex use to walk out there with his pet. Would always run into him and get killed. Maraudon was like the cultivating pot for all the different mobs that lived in Desolace. Plus the "She's to fat" youtube video was also filmed there as well. Funny movie strongly recommend anyone to watch it. http://youtu.be/JT22n6x7J0g
Nagrand because the sky is pretty
